TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICE!!! SERIOUSLY BEWARE!!! We bought two bikes from MM in the past...one paid outright and another on layaway purchased within a years time. So when my boyfriend went in to MM in Sept/2015 they were more than happy to set him up on a layaway again. My boyfriend received his paperwork and went on his way. We live out of state (FL) but when visiting family in NJ in July/2016 my boyfriend went to check on his bike and make another layaway payment. What he found was his bike on the showroom floor for sale. He asked that it be taken off the floor and the sales rep apologized posting a 8x10 SOLD sign on it that read: TO BE PICKED UP BY SEPT/2016. In August my boyfriend was online and saw his bike posted again for sale. He called and explained he had a contract AND verbal agreement to pick up the bike by the end of September. He was told by the salesman Allen that they could no longer honor the price quoted. They stated the contract gave him until Dec. 1st, 2015 to pick it up but that is not what our copy from MM stated. (The copy MM mall gave us was faded and nowhere did our copy read, TO BE PICKED UP BY or we would have addressed it). This was a moot point as payments were taken AFTER the so-called deadline date. Allen offered our money back or money to be placed on another bike. However in bold lettering it read on our contract: NO REFUNDS, NO CANCELLATIONS, NO EXCHANGES. My boyfriend had also bought custom parts to add to this bike that he couldn't return. They then tried to say they called us (never!) and the rebate on the bike had expired so they couldn't honor the price of $11k he owed but that he would have to now pay $14,500. Eventually they changed it to $1450 over his 11k balance due. STILL NOT RIGHT! (It is in my opinion they pulled this since everywhere we looked online the bike was now selling for $14,500.). I can't tell you how many sleepless nights I watched this (already ill) man have trying to come up with a solution to get his bike before they sold it out from under him. In the rush to secure the bike I loaned him the money just to bring closure to the deal. Two weeks later we drove from Florida to NJ, borrowed a NJ police friends trailer and headed out to get the bike. Needless to say, my boyfriend was not happy when he walked into MM. His frustration showed on his face....but he didn't say a word. The office woman showed no sensitivity and with attitude asked him why he didn't appear happy....was something wrong? How did she know whether or not he had a lot going on in his life (like his mom fighting cancer or that he is chronically ill-all true), but she kept on him. When he signed the paperwork she gave him his pink release copy. She then noticed he had made a line through the signature area and wasn't happy that he didn't sign as he did on his first paperwork. Then she complained that she would have to write it all up again! It really didn't matter how he signed, they have him on camera coming in and signing for and accepting the bike! She reported to the manager Gary what was going on. When they came back Gary insisted that my boyfriend sign the way "they" wanted him to or he wouldn't get the bike. They were pressuring him. My boyfriend explained very calmly that he wasn't happy they tacked on the extra charge of $1450 and that if he had to take it to court he would (as It was the principle of the matter). My boyfriend picked up his paperwork and we walked out. When we got outside my boyfriend stated to me he was calling the POLICE. What I didn't realize was that Gary the manager had grabbed my boyfriends truck keys so he couldn't leave!!! We went outside the bldg. to get the bike and they had removed it! When the POLICE arrived we explained MM wouldn't give us the bike. A BIKE THAT WAS ALREADY BOUGHT AND PAID FOR BEFORE WE CAME UP FROM FLORIDA TO GET IT! The police were dumbfounded that Gary took our truck keys away from us as they were when they realized the bike was already paid for. They told us nicely to just take it to civil court. The sales reps said they talked to the young owner of the business who said he didn't want to sell us the bike. But I stated, "We already own it!" Our check had long cleared and credit card payment processed and yet they refused to give us our bike! In all my years of dealing in business matters I have NEVER come across such inexcusable business practices. All the salesman/mgr rallied around each other, nobody apologized to my boyfriend for the manner in which he was treated. Sloppy paperwork, no set schedule for layaway payments, sloppy communication all around. In the end when we went to get our money back and void the transaction they STILL tried to short change us. THE RUDE AND ARROGANT WAY IN WHICH WE WERE TREATED WAS UNBELIEVEABLE. THIS IS HOW THEY TREAT LOYAL CUSTOMERS??? Seriously, take your business elsewhere. read more

Only one star since there is no zero option. Went to them looking for a Polaris Slingshot one weekend and enquired about one was told 2k$ down and 4 to 6 week wait. So I went home and checked finances and went back was then told its 2.5k and 6 to 8 week wait by a different salesman. Ok 500$ more no big deal 6 to 8 week wait again no big deal. So after about 4 weeks went back after reading tons of info online about how the Slingshots are extremely hard to get hold of and asked if there was any update on info was told nothing no ship date no vin# nothing so I started to get worried . just on a lark decided to try calling and emailing other surrounding dealers leaving messages and trying to get any info since M.M was giving me nothing. Got a call from one dealer roughly 2 to 3 hours later that had a ship date a vin# and was asking less then half what the crooks at M.M. were so went with them even though they were almost 2 hours away. Had my SL within 5 days of talking to them and still had not even one call from M.M. on any info. So I had to borrow 1k for money down on it from family member since if I didn't jump on the chance who knows when I would get one, again do to M.M. giving me no info. So after reading some reviews and talking to some other dissatisfied customers I decided to tell them situation had changed and I no longer was interested in slingshot not that I had gotten one elsewhere cause do to reputation I was seeing in said emails and conversations they definitely wouldn't work with me. So I went in again one day after being told to come back after they looked at paperwork. Went back in and talked to sales manager who told me it was nonrefundable but they would work with me if I personally contacted Polaris and let them know I was no longer interested in one being shipped to motorcycle mall. Well I did just that and Polaris told me the dealer would have to start a "ask Polaris Case" and get a case number and get back to me again was never gotten back to. In between this the family member who had lent me 1k to secure a real slingshot not a we don't know one left a email with owner of Motorcycle Mall stating that I had gotten one and needed deposit back to pay them back mind you the deposit for the still undated unvinned numbered slingshot at M.M. So suddenly after hearing this and going back and forth for days trying to contact owner I finally get to speak to him and could tell he wasn't gonna budge even though earlier his own sales manager had told me they would try to work with me if I contacted Polaris myself to show they weren't trying to scam and get an extra unit which I did. So right there I knew trying to do it without telling them I had gotten one was the right choice since now that they found out I had one the whole previous thing with calling Polaris and saving them getting grief from them and working with me suddenly disappeared when they knew I had purchased from another dealer. Wound up hanging up on owner when I realized they were gonna make this hard. Received a email shortly later that it wasn't moral of me lying and hanging up. I believe what isn't moral is charging a deposit fee nearly twice or more then anyone else I spoke to even Polaris thought 2.5k was kind of high. Also tried telling me 2.5k$ was what the official deposit was for them per M.M. rules Oh ok so the first person I talked to that said 2k 4to 6 weeks must have been clueless about his own store policies? So needless to say am going to Better Business Bureau, here, maybe the news and am already speaking to lawyer. Was told nonrefundable per contract I signed ok well contract on what never got a ship date or a vin# hell still haven't gotten Ask Polaris Case # from them so what sale did they lose what were they reserving that cost me 2.5k nothing so having it checked by lawyer to see since item is highly sort after I didn't order anything special only come in one color and are coming in delivery door and out sales door as fast as they receive them. Would not recommend them to anyone even my worst enemy how they got that #1 rating I have no idea must be sales on what they have in showroom cause it sure a hell isn't on orders or working with customers on them. read more

Once again a great experience at Motorcycle Mall and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. This dealership gets a lot of bad rep on yelp but if you actually look at the people giving those bad reviews it looks as if they are just unhappy people, going from business to business if their soup isnt the right temperature or someone didn't say hello fast enough at the counter. Basically they are just those type of people to leave crappy reviews because frankly they have nothing better to do and everything and everyone makes them unhappy to the point that they have to review it. I mean come on 10 reviews and 8 of them are 1 star? Do you go out looking for places to leave a bad rep get a life! It's a huge dealership shit happens and no dealer is perfect, come on people be realistic! Back to the dealership and my experience, now this is my second purchase at the store and I never got a chance to leave a review for my first purchase. But let me say it is huge, like the biggest store I have ever been to. The selection is great like a small motorcycle show they have everything. Now with the size you can get a little over whelmed if you don't know what you are shopping for but thankfully their sales staff is great and helped me get the deal I was looking for on my new bike. They are extremely knowledgeable, even when my salesman didn't know the answer to a question he brought in someone who was more informed on the bike I was looking at. Now I did go on a weekend mind you they have 10 or so sales guys and on weekends there are a lot of people in the store. So it gets very busy and you have to be reasonable and understand that it will take some time to make your purchase. If you are there on a weekend plan it to be an all day thing and be realistic. This is a great opportunity to kill some time in the parts & apparel store and look at all the goodies, which is also one of the biggest selections in the area, and the staff in there also helped me out greatly answering all my questions. I ended up getting a new helmet with my bike because why not and 15% off on day of purchase! I finished my paperwork nice and smoothly and I was out back ready to ride away on my new Ducati. (The tech who got my bike ready even came out to give me a few tips on my new toy which was awesome!) After a long day I was on the road riding and I couldn't be happier to come to Motorcycle Mall once again to make my purchase! They really are a great dealer that cares for their customer. Yes their fees can be a little high but you have the power to negotiate! Don't be like oh man they charge too much I am leaving they suck, cause that gets you nowhere. Sales are all about negotiating and you have to do a little research and put the work in to get a good deal. If they gave stuff away they wouldn't be open so always remember they are still a business not a charity. Also expect that long wait time on weekends and expect it to take longer than a car because this is a toy not a necessity. If you are the type of person who doesnt like waiting and you need instant gratification visit them on a week day. So all in all I think Motorcycle Mall is a great shop. Do they have their weaknesses? Yes, all dealers do, but if you go in and know what you want you will have a good experience time and time again I know I did! My recent purchase of a Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ from Motorcycle Mall has been a deeply disappointing experience. The dealership's incompetence and disregard for customer satisfaction have made this purchase quite frustrating. The initial sales process was relatively straightforward, but the problems began as soon as I took possession of the bike. The "prep" that the dealership charged me $795.00 for appeared to be minimal at best. The bike had less than a mile on it, suggesting that a test ride was never conducted. Upon further inspection, I discovered several safety issues, including loose handlebar bolts and a clutch with zero free play. What was most worrisome though, was the battery. It had been installed incorrectly. This bike utilizes a metal plate that is supposed to hold down the battery. Had the battery been positioned correctly, this would be fine, however the "technician" who performed this had the plate resting on the positive terminal and held in with the wrong bolt. The only thing stopping the bike from burning to the ground from a direct electrical short was the thin red boot that covers the positive terminal. I knew the hold down bolt was the wrong one, because I found the correct bolt in the battery compartment when I took it all apart to fix it. Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of my experience was the dealership's handling of the locking saddlebags. Despite all the reviews showing the saddlebags having the same key as the ignition, I was informed that the bike did not come with lock cylinders at all, and I would need to purchase them for an additional $240. The salesman was quite adamant about this, even showing me a page from the assembly instructions stating that the lock cylinders did not come with the bags. He took me to the parts department and I ordered a set of locks. When I got home, I called Yamaha customer service, and found out that it is true that the cylinders do not come with the bags. This is because the bags and the bikes are shipped separately. Yamaha ships the locks with the bike to make it easier to have 1 key fit all the locks and the ignition. I don't know if Yamaha forgot to include the locks with my particular bike, but judging by the incompetent prep, my guess would be that they didn't, and the locks were misplaced or ignored by the dealership. About a month into ownership of the bike, I told the salesman that I wanted to take a trip, but needed locking saddlebags. He told me that they were waiting on the warrantee department to procure the locks. It took nearly 2 months, and countless calls to both the dealership and Yamaha customer service to get this resolved. After 2 months, I finally got to pick up the lock cylinders and I installed them. The dealer did re key the locks to fit my ignition key, albeit using only 2 of the 5 wafers in the lock. Not the most secure but definitely on-brand. I strongly advise potential buyers to avoid this dealership and seek a more reliable and professional alternative. The peace of mind and hassle-free experience that a reputable dealership can provide are simply not worth sacrificing. read more

I don't even know where to start but I'll try to keep it brief. This April, I stopped by for a pair of gloves and long story short came out with an Aprilia for my wife (and no gloves). First request was to get the bike lowered, even before taking it out of the dealer. Within 5 minutes I had a price of approximately $350 to have it done. A couple of days and many phone calls latter that price had changed to about $1200. Needless to say I was not going to give them that kind of money and decided to take the stock bike home and deal with it myself. (I handed up lowering the forks for $0 and ordered a lower rear shock for $799). I scheduled a 5:00pm pick up time for the next day to give them ample time to prep the bike. Next day went to pick up the bike and literally got out of there at 8:30 pm (1/2 hour after closing time). The excuse was that the bike's computer needed an update that took several hours to complete. I later found out they gave me the keys and books form another bike and had to reprogram everything in order to start the bike and make it work. (earlier that day I got a call from the sales guy asking me if I had the keys...?!?!) After all I finally got out of there with the bike and am very happy with it, but were my problems over? Of course not. A few weeks later I took it back for the first service (unfortunately they are the only Aprilia dealers in NJ so I had no choice ). When I looked at the registration I see the year 2001 instead of 2011. They also managed to screw that up somehow, but of course that was motor vehicles fault not theirs. When asked about it the reply was simple; "we sell a lot of bikes here". It wasn't until the end of June when I got my plate back! By now you would think I learned my lesson and stay away from these people. Well, after all this I was careless enough to take my brother and his girlfriend there to look at their showroom. Unfortunately, they both also bought bikes, and my brother had serious problems with them and had no bike for over 4 weeks due to a mechanical problem which they discarded fault. I am sure he will be writing a review soon. In summary, they have a nice showroom with plenty of bikes to choose from but THAT'S IT. You will have 5 sales guys on top of you the minute you walk in, but after you sign a deal or give them a deposit your nightmares will start! I seriously don't know how they made it this far, but I will definitely STAY AWAY and give my money to someone who appreciates my business and values their costumers. read more

78,000 miles on a bike serviced only at Motorcycle Mall. Totally impressed with the service department. Not one breakdown or suprise in those seven years. Sales. I shopped for the next bike at seven area (100 mile) dealers, got my best price, went to Motorcycle Mall, they beat all the other prices for the bike and their price included prep and destination...others did not. Suprise, Motorcycle Mall has an insurance department ... saved another 322 a year... 25,000 miles later and the service department still delivers. No problems; fair pricing. My nine year experience with Motorcycle Mall has been great! I have hesitated adding this for years. I went to purchase a front tire installed. I called the next day and was told it wasn't finished. I called the next day and was told it wasn't done yet. The service writer sounded unsure about what he was saying, but assured me he would call as soon as it was done. Two days later i went to the Service Department to inquire. No one was even sure the bike was there. Seeing the bike parked with a dozen others by the far wall, I walked with the Service Manager to my bike. New tire on, there was a piece of paper on the windscreen that said in large letters "NO BRAKES". After the manager went to talk to the mechanic ( I was told I could not talk to the mechanic; an elite Ducati mechanic ), he informed me that the front master cylinder had failed. Someone could have called me. I paid for a new master cylinder installed. I later learned that the procedure for changing the front tire calls for caution when handling the caliper lest the master cylinder o rings would be damaged. This incident still bothers me. I spoke to LJ, but I don't think he understood what I was suggesting. Months later, with routine service in between, I scheduled a rear tire replacement. They would call when it was in... After several weeks and numerous phone calls, telling me the tire was not in yet. I went to FW Speer Yamaha, tire ordered and installed the next day. Having paid for the tire in full in advance, I went to the Mall to recover my money. Surprise, Surprise, Surprise! The tire appears in minutes. No refund, but they would install for free. I'll eventually use the tire, wrapped and kept in a cool dry place, since I roll 10 to 11 K Miles a year. Just left me disappointed. I didn't burn any bridges. I just don't go there any more. read more

Well everyone, against all the negative reviews here I decided to take my beaten 09 rsv 1000r here to try and figure out why she won't start. Long story short I broke my original key off in the ignition, now the immobilizer light is flashing, and the secondary won't work. I took my bike to powersport mechanix in Newark NJ as it was the only shop near me that had previous knowledge of Aprilia bikes (I avoided mm originally because of the scary negative reviews) and now regret it (at the moment at least). After months at powersport mechanix my wallet, and bike are in worse shape than what it was when I dropped it off. (Read my review of powersport mechanix to know more of that friendly terrible place.) Anyway I called MM 4x prior to coming to ensure they could flash a new key over/ troubleshoot why it won't start. All 4 times the lady answered yes, and to bring my bike at my earliest convenience, so I did on 04/27/2017. When I walked in the staff was very friendly, and the mechanic who I pulled aside was very knowledgeable. Two employee's helped ramp my baby out of the uhaul truck, and I pushed her to the shop. They tagged her up, charged me a $240 diagnostic fee to figure out what is wrong. I was promised this would be applied to any work that has to be done so I did not mind. The whole process took maybe an hour and a half as they became very busy. The guy that originally helped me left without notice so I grabbed another employee to finish up. Now with all this being said, I walked into this place with negative mindset, and still currently hold one thanks to you guys. As great as the service/experience was I am expecting them to take months to get a fix, and charge me an arm to get her back without a solution. Or do what the last shop did and not respond for months. Sighhh.....I hope they can get a fix before motorcycle week...I would be the happiest guy on earth...Well I will be writing another wordy review as time goes on. Shout out to MM for the friendly experience, and the parts dept. guy who printed me a receipt for the pricey ass fairings for my bike. ($900+ for the front/rear cowl) I spent over 30 minutes with him just going over prices/ alternatives etc for making my bike look as good as she did she rides. We have purchased a used ducati 848 evo from Motorcycle Mall. We live in DC but I saw the bike when we visited NJ and we really liked it. After talking to my sales rep. "Slim", I have told him repedatly please make sure bike is clean and had a good inspection. First of bike arrived all dirty, previous owner's paperwork was under the seat and I've send pictures to them. They've told me they did clean the bike. It was a huge lie. Second, battery was having problems and I did not even had a good chance to drive around the block. So I've called them and their response was ; "probably who deliverd to you forgot ignition on, because we put a new battery". Yes they put a new battery (cheapest battery on amazon) but without knowing the real problem or proper inspection bike had a different problem causing shut downs. I have bought a new battery and tested, still was not charging. I have send to Ducati Service and they told me engine has water inside, it was not battery related issue. Ducati service cost me a lot to remove water from engine, changed raditor and et. Basiclly i have to spend thousands of dollars to fix it. I gave them a call and spoke to Sales Manager. Guess what? Same responses as I have had before, nothing is their fault, it is all my fault that I have bought bike from them. They said you bought it As-Is and good luck with your new troubled bike. What a joke place. If you run into any little problems; Your salesman or sales team will tell you; "you have aggreed to this and that" and you will end up left alone with your issues. Reason we went to dealer was because we beileved dealer would be more trustable and dependable. Not this place, stay away definetly. read more

Well, last year I purchased a 2010 Ducati 848 for $10,000 that was "never layed down" and in perfect shape. Well, a year later, when trying to sell the bike, I find out from an honest dealership that the plastics aren't original, the pegs were swapped out, the bar ends were changed, and the grips were swapped out, which come to find out, is all evidence that the bike was layed down at some point. Not only that, but they didn't give me the Code Card, which is apparently a VITAL thing to have when servicing the bike or if you were to lose the key. Without such card, you can NOT order any replacement keys for the bike. If you need to, you must purchase a new ECU as well as Ignition then have the keys made which will cost you $2500 dollars give or take. With that being said, you'd think that any reputable dealership would know that and acknowledge that, especially an authorized DUCATI dealership, but I was never told, and was charged full retail for a bike that was not factory and was missing a VERY important Card. Now that I'm selling the bike, I had to take a HUGE hit on price because of this, and I've been waiting all day for their Sales guy named Allen to call me back. He never returned my call, and even after I called and left a message for him to call me back, nothing. All said and done, I was lied to and apparently cheated when purchasing the bike, and all of this was told to me by the dealer I brought the bike to today. All said and done, I felt great when I bought the bike, and now I feel nothing short of cheated and betrayed by a "reputable" dealership. Thanks Motorcycle Mall! read more

I am amazed by some of these reviews. I also own a business and often have poor ratings by people that's don't exist. If you are familiar with how these rating systems work, you would be very frustrated as a business owner. Yelp,google, etc. are all the same. You need to subscribe with a marketing company that will monitor all your reviews and weed out the bad ones. If you don't subscribe and pay, they don't care about negative posts. I see firsthand with my business as I subscribe to Google.... wouldn't you know, my google rating is 5 star! Anyway, to get back on subject, I worked with LJ and his father John for year. I purchased many bikes over the years and my most recent was a 2018 pioneer 1000. I always negotiated price and worked out a very fair deal, so, all of you that complained about price, its clear you need work on your negotiation skills. Frankie from parts has been there since I was a kid. I'm 46 now. You wont meet a more approachable guy. I don't mind paying a litter more sometimes when everything you need is in one place readily available. I am not affiliated with Motorcycle Mall but have been doing business with them for years. For those of you that have an issue with spending a few hours there on a busy Saturday to buy any power sport machine, I suggest you try a new Trex from Marty's bicycle shop! I came to the Motorcycle Mall looking for a dirtbike. Not many used bikes in stock but there was a big selection of new bikes. I looked at a couple different makes and models and ended up going with a used KTM 450 SXF. My sales person, Kim Dave, was the best you could have. She was very knowledgeable of all the units I asked about and at no point did she pressure me into any of them. It was nice to have a sales person who was not just interested in selling you something and getting you out of their hair. When I come by to shop in the parts department she always asks me how my bike is doing and if I'm still happy with my purchase. I was so impressed by her customer service that I even recommended two of my friends to buy from her. Not only was Kim great but so was Genienne Arnault in the finance department. I bought the bike outright and Genienne helped me shop around for the best insurance that suits me at the right price. Before I left the mall after my purchase, I stopped by to grab some gear. I met Johnny who advised me on proper gear to wear from his experience of riding. I've never met a employee that was so energetic and professional. As my bike was being loaded into my truck i was introduced to Sean Hanley who is one of the mechanics there. He was a very nice guy who really knew his stuff. If you are going to get your bike fixed, ask for Sean. Thank you everyone at the Motorcycle Mall for giving me the best buying experience possible. read more

Bike Sales. Have bought 2 bikes from this place. I consider myself a pretty annoying customer. Working in customer service myself, I know how I should be treated. The sales staff at MM was always cool, calm , and collective with me. We always were able to meet in middle ground and make a deal. Accessories. I do buy a lot of my mods online but I have bought some riding gear from MM. Mostly to compare feel sizes and get a feeling of the make. The ladies that helped me with gloves and helmets were awesome. I had to try on at least 20 pairs of gloves. Never gave me an attitude and price matched a reputable vendor. Service. On my first bike, it had a defective fork seal out from the factory. There is no worse feeling then having a new bike that is damaged out the box. It took a lot of time to find out exactly what it was and have the Manufacturer cover it ( which was stressful) but it was busy season. Second bike had a recall that was in and out. Worked with my schedule for pickup and even cleaned my bike when picking it up (tiny amount of dust after I left it there for 5 days.) All in all, are they perfect? No one is. But they are a great company to deal with. I never feel like I'm getting stiffed or treated as a number. I have put my trust in these guys and in the 5 years we`ve done business. They give me no reason to doubt them. read more
