Cold coffee, cold shoulder, Covid concerns. That about sums it up. Americano was luke warm. Prices are high. Even Starbucks only charges $3 for a small Americano. It's almost $5 here. Employees focused on themselves, B- customer service. And...Covid is still with us and not t a single employee in a mask. I get it if you don't want to mask up outside or in retail stores that don't enforce the rules but YOU ARE PREPARING FOOD & DRINKS! Hello?!? Even if you think Covid is a hoax or masks don't work would it be too much to ask to wear one just out of COMMON COURTESY for your customers?? Who cares if you're young and strong...shouldn't you be focused on the well being of those entering your business? Or is that type of consideration "old school" and kindness lost on you? The moment I walked into the shop, I was so shocked to find out NOT A SINGLE PERSON was wearing a mask. There were customers dining indoors, meeting with friends, or using a laptop--just like the good old days! It was absolutely surreal. Just drove an hour to get here was so excited to try the coffee and baked goods while taking a pitstop on a long road trip, but the people behind the counter taking orders, prepping food and drinks, etc. weren't wearing masks and neither were the customers going in. Sadly, we walked out and left. Cases in CA are spiking more than ever, it's NOT the time to needlessly put your customers at risk. This was a nice find on our road trip to Vegas. The shop is cozy and really nicely designed inside with a cute outdoor patio area. I have had coffee a few times here and now I have tried their food! Wow! Yummy I get the vanilla caramel breve, the sourdough breakfast sandwich will blow your mind. I had mine with sausage, egg, avecado and cheddar cheese. I cant wait to have it again. No one was wearing masks during the middle of the 2nd wave of Corona Virus. Not employees or customers. Felt like my safety was threatened.

If you love coffee and are longing for a good espresso, latte, or baked good in a chill zone with a good vibe, GO TO Coffee Mill. I honestly was surprised as I walked in, from the set up to the decor. Honestly, not at all what I expected. As you walk in, the baked goods are displayed right in front of you to see if temptation will win and test your New Year willpower. Don't be afraid folks, some are gluten free (the item I had was). We had 1 espresso, 2 lattes, and 2 hot cocoas in our order and it didn't take very long to get it. The coconut latte is to die for, btw! Creaminess, rich, hot goodness, packed in a cup. What?!?!! First time we came here it was early and there were just two people there. The barista guy that was there was so helpful with my drink order since I'm pregnant and I wanted candy coffee. I don't drink coffee, but I do love and enjoy candy. I got a specialty drink that was super wonderful. He said if I didn't like it he would remake me something else which is just a sign of a great cafe. Totally coming back to this local spot. Good strong coffee that's not watered down! I love that they have comfy couches and wifi so I can sit and do homework while enjoying my coffee. I like that their music is extremely varied also. It's a little more spendy than Starbucks but it's way worth it for the amazing taste and quality. They are also very fast a preparing drinks. They have many specialty drinks, smoothies, classic coffee drinks, teas and Italian Soda. They also have hand made sweets and breakfast sandwiches. We just moved here from OC & wanted to find a handcrafted coffee house. This place is darling and delicious! Tyler helped us at the point of sale and was very sweet and helpful. Faith was our barista and our drinks were delicious. I will gladly go when she's the barista. This is such a refreshing alternative to big box brands and we are so happy to have this local coffee shop near by doing things the right way; pulling espresso fresh by hand for each drink and serving with a smile. read more

The good news is what I got by mistake was so good I ate or drank it anyways. Service is slow but friendly. I go there when I have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the beautiful decor. We are new to Tehachapi and late to trying The Coffee Mill. This is our new morning coffee spot on days when we can hang out and relax, read the paper or just people watch. The coffee is great and the food is very good too. I like a bagel and cream cheese but if you are hungrier, the sour dough breakfast sandwich is awesome and my wife likes the breakfast scramble. New owners Louie and his wife as well as their staff are efficient and friendly. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. If you are tired of the samo samo at S-bucks, definately give Mill St Coffee a try. read more

Today 9/17/19 I went to coffee mills on a breakfast date with my husband before work. We are not really coffee drinkers and we don't really spend money buying coffee, we usually make our own at home. With that said we went to coffee mills because we wanted to have a breakfast meal and a coffee out of the house. ( we don't do this often) My husband got the sourdough egg sandwich and I got the everything egg bagel with both got turkey with that. He got a white mocha and I got almond mocha. Food a drinks were good. But definitely something we can make at home and we have. The reason I am giving it a 4 star is because the moment the young lady was taking our order she didn't SMILE AT ALL or even have any eye contact. She just kept looking at the screen taking our order. Then the barista was not friendly at all as well not a smile not a thank you nothing! I've worked in retail, banks, and been manager at a restaurant and one thing all jobs always focus on was customer service and make them feel welcome and greet them with a smile and do eye contact ! Not one smile I saw the whole hour we sat in our date. They looked like they were forced to be there. That didn't ruined our breakfast date but it was something that stood out to me the whole day it was in my mind and I am not someone that reviews places but I felt like I had to review this. Hope management/ owners of this nice coffee shop read this and can improve in this category and make the customers feel welcome and look happy and happy to serve the customer. We'll see when is the next time my husband and I can go on a coffee date and try something new and hope to see some nice smiles:) read more

I struggle to even give one star for how awful this experience was. Employees were not welcoming or friendly. Not a single person had a mask on and the place was packed.
