Another staple stop back home Shave Ice Action! Da real Shave ice not the fake stuff see on mainland. Really the truth to true Shave Ice got to shave super thin and right machine. In Hawaii just know. I been to all of them Matsumoto, more close to grew up Ice Gardens, and really so many choose. Mountain Magic Shave Ice always been ultimate shave ice and one only place make point one time get shave ice. Winnah! I like that set up not tradition. It food truck. It located inside shopping center. There one section of parking lot have few food trucks lined up next to one another. The only downside is no place really sit and enjoy shave ice. All good shave ice one of those things eat it on the spot. The menu has nice selection come to options. Not only list of syrups if huge. It tough pick couple. U could just go with one. I picked three. Another list add stuff like ice cream, azuki beans, mochi balls, and think more. Believe they also server boba drinks. I there for Shave Ice. I got mochi balls added really best ones ever had in life. Fresh, perfect chewy, and delicious. It hit all right spots. I look forward next trip back home getting Shave Ice action again.
Stopped by for my birthday. Little girl was rude. My husband said in the beginning of the order that he wanted the snow cap and ice cream. She asked again what he wanted again so i don't understand how they got it wrong. When he got it he noticed there was no snow cap and ice-cream so he asked for it. She rolled her eyes when I said he did mention it at the beginning. She literally just put the ice-cream and milk on top carelessly. We said thank you and they just closed the windows on us. We left a 6 dollar tip which I'm now regretting. She acted like a child. The shave ice was great, the service was subpar
I've always loved the shave ice here, and the fact that it is walking distance from work makes it tempting to sneak over there whenever my sweet tooth is talking to me! Their ice is shaved super fine, like fresh powder snow! So if you like your shave ice supah soft, supah smooth , this is the place! They also have UBE CAP!!! Like a snow cap except ube flavored. Had to add it to the home made soft but chewy mochi balls. Sooo good!
I was on the Westside looking for dole whip and Mountain Magic shaved ice food truck kept coming up on Yelp search. It was easy to find. We could see it from the highway. It's in a shopping strip mall parking lot. Not the sexiest place but it was cute , quaint and totally Hawai'i! There's about 5-6 other food trucks in the lot. The menu was easy and there were several different sizes available. Prices seemed reasonable. I got a rainbow colored shaved ice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The ice was shaved fine and perfect. So much better than that "other" place in North shore. The service was quick and easy. The owner introduced me to her son and daughter that was there helping her. If you are on the Westside I would recommend it. ( Forgot to mention they don't serve dole whip)
What's all the buzz about the shave ice at Mountain Magic? Perfect time to indulge in cool, edible treat in humidity after mini golf and returning a few merchandise in lower Waikele Outlet. There's not much shade near the mobile truck. My Coolibar UPF 50+ hoodie came in handy. Customer service was up to par considering continuous line of people arriving and leaving. All shave ice now comes in either a paper cup or paper bowl. Consumers pay the price for what they receive. Select up to three flavors. Toppings are limited to li hing mui for 75 cents, mochi, ice cream, snow cap for $1, and azuki bean $2. Cash is king! I appreciate a separate window for ordering and pick up. No doubt the shave ice has a smooth consistency. I ordered 1/2 Liliko'i and 1/2 Green River w/ Snow Cap for $1 extra in a paper bowl. I spent $6.75. Flavors and drizzled condensed milk were delightful! Size in a bowl seemed smaller and shorter for type of shave ice order. My preferences and taste in shave ice are complex. This is not the best tasting shave ice I've consumed. This would be ideal for those that prefer simplicity in syrups, comfort, while factoring size and height are not important.
Magic Mountain is my go to for shave ice! I prefer here over Matsumoto's, Wailola, and even Ululani's. The shave ice is shaved super smooth and it literally melts in your mouth. The flavors are also on point. The taro cream is my new favorite because it's not too sweet. Best of all if you get ice cream it's soft and not rock hard like others. The line is usually never too long and they make your order pretty quick. Just beware they are cash only!
One of the best shave ice spots on the island. The ice is sooo smooth and fine, and there are so many local flavors to choose from (choose up to 3). The employees are so nice too. Keep in mind that this is a food stand, so there's hardly any seating around (just sit on the curb!). Also, they only take cash or venmo.
Hands down the best shave ice on the islands. We love coming here almost daily when we visit. So much love from the staff as well. Simply the best. Don't miss it. Worth the drive.
When I come home to visit, this is the closest place to me that sells shave ice. It seems Everytime I come here there's always an issue. The first time I went the azuki beans were so hard and dry. The other time I went the mochi was hard. The last time I went, my mom ordered a mango and they gave her rainbow with mango on top. I ordered a creamy rainbow. As I started walking back to the car I was eating it and the entire middle was only ice. There was no syrup. I went back and told them and they said they knew that this happens so they added more syrup. As I got down to the bottom of the cup there was no syrup and it was only ice. If they know that this happens I would think they would add enough syrup so this wouldn't happen. I ended up throwing it away. Waste my money. Three strikes. Won't be back
There's something really special about Mountain Magic Shave Ice -- and it's not just their super-soft shaved ice with yummy syrups that are reminiscent of my childhood (growing up in Hawaiʻi in the '90s/'00s), but it's their local charm and spirit of aloha that make not only visiting this business, but also supporting this business, so, so nice. I used to go here as a kid when they were outside of Lowe's. But everytime I go, it brings back memories! The shave ice is smooth and there are many different toppings you can choose from. It's a guilty of pleasure of mine, to add snow cap, mochi balls, and li-hing powder. The workers are very nice and patient, they make an effort to talk to you about your day and are very quick with getting your order done. The only thing to remember is that they are CASH ONLY!
The best shaved ice I've had here! The ice texture is so soft and the flavors I had were deeeeeelicious. My sweet treat rating: bowl size shaved ice (lilikoi, coconut, guava) w/ mochi and li hing, 10/10 - I always have to get coconut because it's my personal favorite and to compare syrups at different spots. this place had the best coconut syrup of the three i've tried in oahu. Sometimes other places tasted too "artificial" or had too much food coloring which left an aftertaste. After I finished a bowl here with my boyfriend, I was ready to order another. this spot is 5 stars for me with the friendly service too! the location is perfect for picking up a quick treat. me and my friends grabbed our shaved ice and hung out in the parking lot. hoping to come back soon!
Whenever the family want shave ice this is the spot Flavors are bold and cut through the ice. Staff are patient. They all have neutral faces and don't really smile too much. No where to sit but your vehicle or curb! Which is cool with us as they have a lot of shade.
Located between old Navy and sports authority, on the lower side of the waikele outlet stores, this shaved ice kiosk is a little gem you can find and enjoy a short break to cool off and enjoy awesome shaved ice on a hot day while shopping: Small size shaved ice - 5 stars - for $3.50, the small is actually pretty big, and can be shared. There are a huge variety of flavors, but you can only choose up to 3 flavors. If you want cream flavors, mochi, icecream, snow cap or additional flavors, etc., it's 75 cents extra. I love having balls in my mouth, mochi balls that is. I love shave ice and if I'm in the area this is the place to get it. The small shave ice is humongous, I can never finish it. They don't skimp on anything else as well. I ask the person making the shave ice to go light on the syrup. You can choose from a variety of items to add for only 50 cents: snow cap ice cream mochi balls (she puts some in the middle and the top) azuki beans Li hung mui My older son likes that he gets an added bonus when he orders his shave ice. The person usually gives him a lollipop. So he has a treat right away and a treat for later. So if your in the area give it a try. read more
Located along a line of food trucks next to Petco, this is one of the best shave ice places on Oahu. Ice is finely shaven with minimal chunks, and lots of flavors to choose from though I always go with the classic rainbow. Small size is perfect for one person on a hot and humid day. Sometimes I wish they poured more syrup so I don't hit white ice down below, but otherwise always satisfied after coming here. read more

My favorite place to go for some delish shave ice close to home. The list of flavors make it so hard to choose at times. You pick three flavors and you have a variety of add-ons as well like mochi balls, snow cap (condensed milk) and vanilla ice cream. The shave ice is so soft you don't have to worry about the ice hardening up and falling off. If you see any white ice you can go back and ask for more syrup. read more
Look carefully because you might miss this place. It's a tiny stand next to Sports Authority in the Waikele shopping center. The lady that runs the cart was nice and super patient. Fortunately there was no one else in line just yet. The portions run on the larger side and there are two sizes -- small ($3) and large ($4). The small is pretty hefty already so be prepared to share if you plan on a large. There are plenty of flavors and you can have it snow capped (with condensed milk). By far the best shaved ice I had while visiting. Reasons why: Mochi - super soft, slightly sweet, and wet. It's not the dry one's you're used to anywhere. They put LOTS of them, but lots, i mean 3 layers, in the bottom, 1/2 and on top! Ice cream - at the bottom so you can mix the shaved ice or create a shake and mix up the flavors together. The size - huge. You get a large amount of this fine shaved ice. The experience- I'm not sure why, but eating here is just different from the others. Hot day. Kids complaining. Not sure what to do, but you know you DON'T WANT JAMBA JUICE. Hey, you're local, and hopefully, so are your kids. You need the cooling effect of a shave ice from 'Mountain Magic,' just outside the exit doors of Sports Authority at the Waikele Shopping Center. Now there are lots of 'local' flavors, like Haupia, Tamarind, Mango, and Tiger's Blood, but I'm a generic flavor kinda guy (and I'm originally from the mainland, 13-years removed, and I'm scared, really scared of these exotic flavors), so I ordered cherry, blue raspberry and pina colada. OK, I'm not really afraid of all those 'exotic' flavors, but my daughter was with me so I wanted to keep it save. They have balls you can put on top, if you're in to that sort of thing...uh, mochi balls, I mean. Sorry. But I digress. We ordered the 'large' thinking my son was going to share in the action, but it ended up being just me and my daughter. Oh yeah, I know what you're thinking...yes, we killed it! See the attached picture to see just how large a 'Large' is. I had serious brain freeze, but mysteriously, my daughter didn't. X-Files time. The price point is great, at about $4.00 for the large. The only downer about this place is it's a little bit of a blighted dump right there on the sidewalk. It could stand some sprucing up so the perception of the place brightens up a bit. The shave ice here is so delicious! Their house flavors are creative and yummy. They also offer a lot of regular flavors so there's bound to be something for everyone's taste. Their ice is SO fine it's almost creamy! I got mine with mochi and snow cap--highly recommend! I got a keiki size which honestly was still pretty big so just keep in mind if you're getting that size for your kids they might just need 1 to share. Overall quality and taste was very good and super tasty!!! read more

This is some of the best shave ice on the island (and I've had a lot of shave ice here...). Because it is run out of a food truck, the overhead is low, which keeps prices extremely reasonable. The sizes also run big. I ordered the small/keiki size, and it was more than enough! The workers are super efficient, and the ice is made quickly, despite the line. The flavors are many, varied, and delicious. I would go back here in a heartbeat. read more

This is our favorite go to shave ice place on the island and we've been coming here for several years. It located in the waikele shopping center near old navy amongst all the other food trucks. The service and taste is always consist. The staff is always friendly and fast. The syrups and was very tasty and not too sweet. They have a wide range of flavors from your basic strawberry to local favorites such as li hing, likikoi and dragon fruit. They have sizes...kids, small and large. You have can also vanilla ice cream, condensed milk or Mochi balls for additional charge. Their prices are great and equally to the portions you get. Perfect treat on a hot day! Stopped by for some yummy shave ice since the sun was shining and the temperature was around 80 degrees. I went for my usual which is strawberry with mochi balls and snow cap. I was bummed when I received it with a weak wooden spoon, but I understand can't help with the new laws promoting sustainability. read more
This has been my favorite shave ice place on Oahu for years! There's so many flavors, it's affordable and very soft shave ice. I had the lemon peel and lilikoi and it was perfect. The small is big enough for two people. I enjoy coming here on cloudy days or hot days, and when I was in high school it was always the best snack after a long day of tennis matches. read more

Oh, man. What a phenomenal treat! Mountain Magic is really hard to find. I tried using Google maps to navigate us to the address Yelp has, but it took us to an abandoned industrial park. Head to 94 Lumiaina St (The Waikele Center) and look between the Old Navy and Sports Authority. It's just a tiny stand on the sidewalk. It was the first shave ice stand we found in Hawaii and of all that I would eventually see, Mountain Magic easily had the greatest variety of flavors. I settled on an orange, lemon-lime and fruit punch combo. And heeding other Yelpers' advice, I got the mochi balls (like marshmallows made of rice) and a scoop of vanilla ice cream at the bottom. The scoop of vanilla ice cream is mandatory. Mandatory! Now, sit back and enjoy the greatest sno-cone ever made. It's huge. It's tasty. It won't fill you up. Every bite is a stab at the sun beating down on you. When I come back to Hawaii, I'm definitely stopping at Mountain Magic again. One of my friends called it the greatest $4 he's ever spent. Bonus tip: When you're done with your shave ice, look far to the left of the stand. There, at the end of the parking lot, is a red and white striped truck. Approach it and order some hot malasadas. They're like the greatest donuts ever created. How can two such amazing dessert stops exist this close to each other??? read more

Location: They are located between Old Navy and Sports Authority in the Waikele Outlet Mall. They have a small outdoor stand that is normally crowded with locals and tourist. Parking is plentiful at this outlet mall. Shave Ice: Delicious! The texture was creamy almost like an ice cream texture. The three flavors I chose was strawberry cream, lychee and passion fruit. Great combination! I also had condensed milk on top and vanilla ice cream on the bottom. I highly recommend the condensed milk on the top. It makes the shave ice creamy tasting. Price: The price was reasonable. A small is $3.50 and it looks like a large size. I spend extra on the condensed milk and ice cream so my total came out a little over $5. Service: The service was fast! Once I ordered, my shave ice was ready a few minutes later. The line wasn't long around lunch time on a Holiday but you definitely see people around the area eating the shave ice. Overall, I was impressed with the shave ice and will be back in the future. There were so many bees surrounding the stand and syrups.. it was a nightmare to place my order. I tried the blue vanilla, mango, and lychee flavor. Mostly tasted super artificial but lychee was definitely the best. The ice itself is pretty soft. read more
Located next time some other bomb food trucks, this is a must stop if you're in the area. The small is ginormous and they're super generous with the mochi balls. The ice consistency is soft, powdery heaven. The syrups are bursting with flavor the vanilla ice cream on the bottom makes your shave ice creamy ooey yummy towards the end. This place has been around for a while, and every time I come, my experience is always exceptional. I recommend getting the "small" size because its most worth your money, but honestly, any of the sizes are a great deal. Your shave ice comes quickly, with great quality too. Really enjoyed this shave ice spot. It's a cute little shave ice stand in the parking lot of the Waikele Premium Outlets, right by Petco and Old Navy. We decided to share a small shave ice and picked our three flavors: POG, blue raspberry, and honeydew melon. I liked the sign at the front that said if you find white spots in your shave ice, you could come back up to the front and get more syrup free of charge. That's nice. In comparison to the handful of shave ice places on the island, this was one of our favorites. The ice was smooth and not too chunky and icy. It was a super convenient location for us, as it was close to where we were staying during our trip. We also liked that it wasn't super crowded. Cool little find! read more

Everyone loves shave Ice! How can you not?! If you love mochi that's a plus one too! This place is heaven to me! There isn't much good shave ice places in the west side! I'm glad this shave ice place is open in the Waikele shopping mall next to the taste tea truck! I got the vanilla, strawberry and cotton candy shave ice with mochi balls! Got to be honest it was the best shave ice I ever had! They give you plenty mochi balls too! They put some inside the shave ice and on TOP! How generous is that?! If there's any white spots on your shave ice there willing to give you more syrup for no charge! This place is heaven I swear! But sometimes there's a line on what time a day you go too! I usually go around noon time but the line is long, BUT the line moves really fast! Didn't wait longer than 15mins! It's really cheap shave ice also! You can get a small size shave ice and it's still gonna be and only for $3 but .75cents for toppings There's only 2 people working in the back and there actually really good at their job! They move fast and know what flavors to put on the shave ice! The service was on point! She greeted us even tho it was busy, she had a positive attitude and was helping us too. Loved it so much! Gotta give her props for dealing with us pain customers! I highly recommend coming to this shave ice place if your shopping around the Waikele outlet! Where did you guys move to? Waikele Shopping Center seems to have removed all outdoor dining & all the little vendors around you. Even the Malasada truck is missing. Is your Shave ice stand going to move to a permanent location or come back?
I saw on NextDoor that they're paving the parking lot for two weeks. I'm not sure when they started but maybe they'll be back in the beginning of June(?) unless things get delayed.
Are you guys open during COVID shut down?
