I got sick after eating just one slice of pizza on 7/18. The ingredients appeared to be spoiled, so I returned the pizza that same day. When I called, the manager admitted there had been an issue with a new employee and offered to make another pizza, but after getting sick, I declined. Instead, he told me to come back Monday for a refund. When Monday came, the story changed. I was suddenly told it would take 30 days to process a refund for a pizza I returned immediately because it made me sick. The conflicting information and lack of accountability were extremely disappointing. The manager avoided my calls and seemed more interested in delaying the issue than resolving it. With so many other pizza options in Elk Grove, I can't recommend a business that doesn't stand behind its food, its promises, or its customers. read more

I stopped by to pick up a couple of mini pizzas to share with my granddaughter, and used the rewards I earned for a salad from the salad bar. This location has the best salad and freshest ingredients from any salad bar I've seen. The manager prepares the vegetables every day, and always keeps the area full and clean. We were busy all day and needed dinner. We checked on Yelp to see who delivered pizza. We found Mountain Mike's Pizza right up the street. I went into the website to order. We decided on pepperoni. I checked other websites for a coupon. Found a $5 off coupon! SCORE!!! After paying, the email confirmation said it'll be 45 minutes. The doorbell rang at 30 minutes!! SWEET!! The pizza was very good! It wasn't piping hot like you'd be eating at their restaurant, but it was still warm. My only complaint would be that it was burnt around the outside edges. Not terribly bad, but you can still notice the taste. I wasn't expecting the plates, napkins, Parmesan cheese, and the crushed red peppers. That's a sweet gesture!! Overall, great pizza! Needed pizza late last night for a sleepover party with over 50 teenagers, and turned to Yelp to find that mountain mikes is open till 12:30am ... thank you guys for being open this late and for the stellar service! Called in at 11pm for an order of 10 pizzas and the owner himself delivered it less than an hour later. We ordered the veggie options on the menu, and everyone just loved it. Pizza was great, service was superb and fast, and all in all very pleased with the experience. I placed a to-go order through the phone - a small pizza and a a dessert pizza. I got the dessert pizza because there was a Yelp check-in offer for a free one (and I love me a dessert pizza, which are hard to find too). They initially said I couldn't use the offer because there was no coupon code, but when I went in to pick up the pizza I asked again. After some debate, they decided to give it to me (yay!). The cashier was very kind and offered me a dessert pizza because my order was slightly wrong, which I appreciated! For COVID, there is no indoor seating or lunch buffet. What happened to this place? It used to be so good, high quality and all that. Recently ordered a cheese pizza with extra cheese and it was dreadful. Hardly any cheese, way over cooked, dry and just all around bad. So poor I threw most of it away. On top of this, pizza arrived with no extras (napkins, packets of cheese/peppers) and unsealed meaning the driver could have opened it exposing us to health dangers. The order was correct but when we went to pick it up they had to find our pizza because they thought they had it sent for delivery, but after looking for it they found it. We frequent this location not only because it is conveniently located within walking distance of neighborhoods and parks, but also because of the overall quality. The service here is exemplary as well as their efforts to maintain cleanliness. Despite a current labor shortage, there is a consistent quality and variety of pizza being set out as we dine in for their lunch buffet. The large seating areas are great for gatherings and small arcade is a bonus for kids. Overall a great pizza buffet experience. read more

So I might be harder than most when it comes to pizza but I think you need to be really good at what you do. I ordered a custom pizza with my favorite items and overall it was not bad, not great but not bad. The biggest complaint is the quality of the pepperoni, when I see curled up pepperoni on pizza I know from my years in the food industry that it is subpar quality. Ordered online and received confirmation at 5:42pm. Order pickup was scheduled for 6:30pm for mini cheese, garlic sticks with cheese, and a large robbers roost with white sauce. Arrived at the location at 6:25pm. After inquiring about our order was told it would 5-10 minutes. At 6:50pm the cashier brought out a mini cheese and garlic sticks and asked if we still needed the large robbers roost. They did offer a refund and $30 store credit. Finally walked out with full order at 7:05pm. I know it's Friday Night, and it's extremely busy with online orders, DoorDash, etc. I've never had a bad experience from Mtn Mike's before, but this was pretty bad.
