I had a good experience with the team of movers I had - however, a few things I thought could use some improvement....at 130.00/hour I would expect a little effort to kind of move more quickly since I'm being charged by the hour. I know moving stuff sucks, and my being on a second floor doesn't make things easier - but still - if you're a mover for a living, you should learn to move somewhat quickly or at least look like you're moving around all of the time. I saw containers dropped, but the stuff was heavy so I can understand that - no biggy - nothing broke - but moving a chair into the bedroom at the new apartment resulted in a chunk of the wood frame being ripped off - no bigger than a dime and easily repaired, but nothing was offered to me - no apology, no money off the balance - and at this point, I was in rush to get done moving so I could get to my daughter's school on time that I didn't care and just wanted to finish. Towards the end of the move, I actually started moving stuff from the truck myself because I needed them to get done on time - I had a team of 4 guys, a two bedroom apt on a second floor apt moving about 1 mile away (same zipcode) and it took them 6 hours. Seemed longer than it should have taken since I had moved over all of the kitchen and bathroom things earlier in the month - along with all of my clothes, all my artwork and a 10 gallon fish tank. THEY DID END UP GETTING DONE JUST IN TIME - I had 15 mins to get to my daughter's school and I made it. So I was happy in the end! They also couldn't fit my couch into my new place, spent probabaly a bit too long trying to get it to fit - all for naught- so then I had to quickly get a storage unit and have them bring the couch to the storage unit - which cost me more money - but was not their fault. They stopped for a snack, but did not take the 15 mins for their break off the balance - I don't think I should be paying 43.00 for them to stop for a snack - maybe pack a granola bar in the truck and eat on the way to the new place like I did. They can take a break - just don't charge me. However, all in all - they were professional and it is a lot of work to move someone - I did tip the 4 of them 120.00 - maybe it was more than I should have considering I paid for their snack time and not moving too quickly - however I would definitely tell people to use Move Tastic - and I will use them again when I move - their office staff are very attentive and friendly - and there weren't any hidden fees as some moving companies do at the end when they tack on stuff to your bill and in general - it was as pleasant as moving can be --- which isn't much. ;) Oh yes - I nearly forgot - one of the movers left a sweater at my new place and asked if we could go back to get it after the couch was placed in storage. I could not - as I only had 15 mins to get to my daughter's school. So to get going I just said I would get it later and bring it to their office. Well this was Halloween night so I had to get my daughter's school, watch her parade - then drive to my new apartment 15 mins from her school - to drive back 20 mins to Cicero and Lawrence - to drive back 20 mins to my apartment. I know people forget stuff - it happens -- but I was irritated I was asked to drive back to my apt. when I said I had to get to my daughter's school -- then to be driving around the city on Halloween night with my daughter because a grown man forgot his sweater was slightly irritating and 40 mins of my time I didn't get to bill them for. -- Again, I know things happen, but I was irritated at my time being spent this way. In general - yes they did their job and it was pretty good - I have heard horror stories... - I think the office staff really helps and the quote did not have any surprises - they were also on time - so I would definitely use this company for a move! :) read more

TL;DR: The move was quick and easy, and when there was a misunderstanding about a fee the owner called me and worked it out personally. I moved into an apartment with friends who had already been living in the apartment. Since I already had access to the apartment (and it was only a few blocks from my old apartment) I had already moved most of my boxes over myself. All that was left that I needed help with was my bed, dresser, a chair, and maybe 5 boxes that were already totally packed and ready to go. All in all, it was a super quick, easy move. I had put in a request for a quote online, and I will say it was a super quick process and I got an email back maybe an hour later. This included the estimate for 4 hours of labor, a large truck, and a materials fee. So I called to explain how small my move was. I was told that they have a two hour minimum (which I totally understand), but that they would take into account when sending the truck and team how little there actually was to move. The first part of my move went wonderfully. The team showed up right on time, and they were able to get everything out of my old apartment building and loaded up in maybe 20 minutes. We made it over to my new building and they were able to get everything out and up into my third floor walk up again very quickly. So we were finished with the entire move in just over an hour. Like I said, they had a 2 hour minimum and I was 100% aware of that and respect it. However, like I also said I was moving into an apartment with friends who already lived there, My friend who was moving out was hoping to get help carrying her mattress and box spring down the stairs, and this is were it got weird. The team said they couldn't carry out the mattress and box spring, even though they were still pretty much on the clock since they had been paid for two hours and we certainly did not go two hours, without charging a $90 disposal fee. My friend was super exasperated with moving out, didn't think we could get the box spring out on our own, and didn't want to leave the mattress and box spring sitting in the alley until the City could come pick it up (we moved on a Saturday and the disposal service couldn't come until Monday). So assuming the $90 disposal fee actually covered a "disposal" in that the team would take the mattress and get rid of it somewhere, which after we had asked where exactly they would take the mattress and why the fee was so expensive, they just reiterated that the fee was for disposal, she caved and paid the $90 disposal fee. It took the movers maybe 2 minutes to get the mattress and box spring down the steps. A couple hours later we took out some trash and noticed that they had just been left by the dumpster. I was really torn about this, because for the most part the move was so great and the team was nice, but the $90 fee for 2 minutes of work, when I had already paid for an extra hour of work, left a terrible taste in my mouth and left my friend out 90 bucks. When the owner heard this story how ever, he talked it through with the move team, and realized it was a disconnect in policy and execution. He credited me back the $90 and all is well. Would definitely recommend and use again, just try be sure to understand all the fees you are being charged! read more

Summary: Overall a success, with a couple very small hiccups. First time hiring movers in general. Not knowing what to expect, we had set low expectations for performance and thought it would cost a huge amount for the move. The process of submitting our personal information and furniture count was slow-going but straight-forward online. We received an email estimate a day later. The quote was for less than what we were expecting the price to be. The subsequent estimates from a couple other moving companies were within +/- 15%. We picked Move-Tastic because it seemed that with the specific options we chose, it might be just slightly less expensive. We locked in the moving day a couple weeks later, and everything was set. Move-Tastic provided the 4-man crew of Maurice, Jason, Marc, and Alex. They called ahead of time as planned, and arrived a little early. We had reserved space with both the Alderman and IDOT. IMPORTANT NOTE: The Alderman parking reserve is not enforceable. It's just a courtesy sign that you get. Only with the paid IDOT reserve can the police ticket and tow cars blocking the reserved street area - and must be facilitated by a moving company. There was a car at the old place that the police came and ticketed, but could not tow it due to all the IDOT tow trucks being tied up moving cars for a street fair or something. It caused the guys to have to walk about two car lengths further than necessary. Felt bad about this. I wish this driver had seen the signs. I would still highly recommend purchasing the IDOT signs. We had everything boxed and packed already, so after a couple quick formalities and introductions, the crew started immediately. No carts. No dollies. Surprisingly, they carried everything by hand. It was a humid day, but they moved fast. Everyone remained polite and professional. They navigated about 55 stairs to get everything down from the old place and then back up to the new place. I was able to direct them on which boxes and items went to which rooms. Four hours later, they were done. I really appreciate their hard work and professionalism. It was an IMMENSE effort carrying all that down stairs and up stairs to the new place. A week later while unpacking, we discovered that the DVD player had been crushed in the move - probably under the weight of some boxes of books. While not happy that it had been destroyed, we had purchased the upgraded insurance and proceeded with making a claim. Jessica from Move-Tastic was polite and professional about replacing the DVD player. It was no longer manufactured, so she found a functioning used one in identical condition on Ebay and sent us that. This process took a couple weeks, but Jessica kept in contact with us throughout. You have to reasonably expect a couple little dings or hiccups in the moving process. Heck, it's your entire set of worldly possessions that are being moved. We still think they did a great job - in the moving process, professionalism in general, and handling this small hiccup with the DVD player. We would definitely use Move-Tastic again in the future and recommend them to others. read more

I would highly recommend using Move-tastic for all your moving needs. I researched many companies before I committed to using them and they were slightly more expensive on and hourly basis than other movers I had researched but from what I heard on the street (or YELP) is that they were highly efficient, professional, and polite. I had noticed from my email conversations prior to committing with them that they were very quick to respond to all my questions, mostly annoying questions, and never once did it seem like they were trying to pressure me into using them. Other companies I researched were very pushy and I don't need that. Moving is already a stressful time and Move-tastic seemed to work with me, while other companies were just trying to work me. So once I committed to using them they gave me a call a week before the move to ensure that my inventory was still similar to what I had originally told them. I much appreciated this because this gave me confirmation that they would be there during moving day. On moving day they gave me a call 15 minutes before they arrived just to let me know that they were on there way. They did make it 5 minutes later than what was originally scheduled but once they got there they got straight to working. It was a three man crew, so while one gentlemen (I think his name was Austin) was having me fill out the necessary paper work, the other two guys had already put my queen sized bed into the truck. So far so good. They gave me an estimated time of 4 hours for a 2 bedroom apartment but I had no doubt in my mind that it would be much quicker than that. They were very good about wrapping everything and if it was important to us they would put a moving blanket on it and then wrap it. They were very careful about not damaging any of our items and once they put our items in the truck they RAN back into the apartment to get the next load. I was very impressed. 2 hours later, yes I did say 2 hours, half of what they estimated, they had everything unpacked into my new apartment with not a scratch on a single item. A few tips to help them move faster is to try and consolidate all your big furniture into one area so they can basically see everything they need to pack and if any any of your furniture comes apart it might be a good idea to take it apart before they get there. Because if they can't pack it easily, they may have to take it apart themselves and that could cost you some time, which equates to money. Again, moving with Move-tastic was a great experience and I'd definitely recommend using them. They may be slightly more expensive on an hourly basis than other movers but I guarantee you you'll actually save money because they, without any doubt, will move your stuff more quickly than any other movers. read more

I have to say, I don't write reviews usually. But I told these guys to look for me on Yelp and I'm delivering on that promise. I have always been cautious about moving using anything but big companies but hey, money's been tight and these guys had good write-ups on Yelp, so we decided to give them a try. I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE SATISFIED with the stellar, excellent, absolutely astounding degree of the mix between professionalism and personal care demonstrated by this crew. My wife had underestimated the number of boxes and overall load, and these guys located and pulled one of their merry comrades in out of thin air, walked me through the last-minute rates, time, duration, work he would address and received my consent. They then proceeded to literally bust their asses hauling my stuff in the time-period we had initially agreed on, fitting everything I had into a truck that I had rented and which was too small by at least a few feet. Their guy came in, toolkit in hand and even magically produced those little hex-screws for all the Ikea furniture that had to be disassembled in order to fit the truck. They moved everything not only without taking a break over 6 hours of spine-crushing heavy lifting (I have a lot of books), but also offered to dismount and move a plasma that most movers wouldn't have touched without an additional $500 charge. They did this all while running up and down the stairs, WITHOUT TAKING A BREAK. I couldn't have been more impressed. I have an office to move and a storage unit to clear out, and there's no question who I'll be going back to. Their rates were also less than HALF what their closest competitors were willing to charge. After we were done, they even drove me down the street to an ATM to get the additional cash for the added man's hour fee. I was shocked that these guys were in such good shape that they were zooming off after my grueling move to somewhere in the suburbs to a second gig for some people who were desperate for help last-minute. I mean, c'mon. These guys are hands-down the best movers in the city of Chicago, compared to student and those very expensive corporate movers. Without reservation, if you don't call them to handle your move job, you're either a) spending too much or b) not going to receive movers who care about your stuff. These guys have somehow managed to find the best of both ends of the scope of available types of service, and work for every penny. I found Move-tastic! based on their reviews online and from the beginning to end, I had a great experience. I decided to pack up my house myself (though I guess they do offer packing services), but outsourced the hassle of buying and transporting a bunch of boxes to the crew at Move-tastic! I was able to rent plastic bins with attached lids (Move-tastic! calls them "Box Beaters") instead of wasting a bunch of cardboard, and they even delivered them into my home at a time that was convenient for me. This saved me time, effort and money! On the day of the move, nine guys and three trucks showed up on time and after a quick walk-through where they laid out the game plan for the day, the guys got down to work. I have an extensive collection of custom furniture and antiques (some of which is big AND heavy), and the entire team took extra time and care to not only wrap and carry things carefully, but also protected my house which was already sold and needed to be vacated in pristine condition. There were two sets of outdoor furniture, including a large gas grill, on my roof deck that I knew wouldn't fit down the stairs. I reached out to Move-tastic! prior to my move and they told me that they could help to hoist the items down. The movers worked like a group of Spidermen, carefully wrapping and lowering each piece of furniture, until the big daddy grill came down flawlessly. It was a long and hard day of moving, but the guys powered through to the very end with speed and smiles until the final piece of furniture was unwrapped and placed exactly where we wanted it. If you need to move and you value outstanding customer service, don't look anywhere else--especially if you want your movers to exercise extra care, caution and make for a stress-free and positive experience. Let me add just one last thing.......the move was probably one of the many hundreds of moves they do yearly. The fact that I know the OWNER'S name should tell you that they care about moves that require a little extra TLC. I...hate...moving. I know you think YOU hate moving, but no. I..I HATE MOVING. I have moved around the country and internationally in the last 8 years like, 10 times. Seriously. I hate moving. I have used Move-tastic on 3 separate occasions in the last 2 years, and they have been consistently excellent and made me hate moving a little less. Now I only dislike it strongly. Last week, my crew was Kevin, Christian, and Andrew - I needed pick-ups from two locations where I had my stuff stored, and moved into my new apartment. Despite fresh snow and ice on the ground, they moved everything 2 hours ahead of schedule, with everything intact, furniture carefully wrapped and handled, and made my moving day completely stress free. I was showering leisurely and having a late breakfast by 11 am in my new apartment. They always call to tell you they're on their way and they always arrive on time. They don't start charging until they are parked, and stop when the last item is moved in. They move quickly and efficiently. Move-tastic has always been consistent in their services and fees. Their price estimates have never been too low, surprising me with a higher bill in the end. In fact, they have always over-estimated and I end up paying less than what was expected (this is because I am very thorough in my moving list items, I don't underestimate what I have, and they leave some cushion time). The guys (it has always been men) have always been very fast, thorough,and polite, even in harsh weather conditions. I have recommended the company to everyone I know who has moved, and without fail, those who take my advice have a stress free move, and the ones who don't almost always run into problems with whomever they've decided to hire instead. This is why I have already used them 3 times in the last two years. If you can afford to pay just a little more and absolutely hate moving (who doesn't?), hire these guys and you'll have a great experience. Be sure to be thorough in what your items are so they can correctly assess time and estimated cost, have everything packed and ready (save for odds and ends you can throw into a box or bag the day of), and everything is sure to go smoothly. My husband and I are not new to moving. This is our combined 11th professional move. International and all over the states. We have had experience with all sorts of movers. This time we moved from the city to the burbs. My husband, 2-year-old son, and baby #2 weeks away. We hired Move-tastic to fully pack our condo on a Sunday and move us on Monday. Both 6 man crews on both days were incredibly nice, professional, and prompt. I especially like how each one of the guys personally introduced themselves. Something so simple yet so rare. These guys clearly know what they are doing. Fast and efficient. We have a very complicated queen bed that has been moved before and confuses most movers. But not Move-tastic crew leader, Luis! Not only did they disassemble the bed fast but they also put it back together upon delivery. We never went a night without sleeping in our bed. The same goes for our son's crib. The crew loaded up the 2 trucks and headed to the burbs where my husband would meet them. This is when the true work ethic of Move-tastic paid off. A moving nightmare....the sellers of our new 5 bedroom home had not vacated as they were suppose to. When our guys showed up with 2 trucks they had nowhere to put all of our belongings. Nightmare!! Luis and his crew had to wait almost 2 hours before they could down load the trucks. These guys were ready to work! Once Move-tastic started to download and work around the other crew moving the sellers out they were incredibly fast. They hustled and were carrying boxes like gladiators. And not one single item was damaged. To download 2 trucks it took around 3 hours. The sellers' movers took over 12 hours to complete their move. The seller even inquired with my husband about firing his crew and hiring Move-tastic on the spot. That did not work for him, but it was evident they hired the wrong company. 3 years later and still, they live up to the name. I arranged my move online with their comprehensive form about a month ago for my move that happened yesterday morning. The outreach was prompt and the quote accurate. They were fast to answer questions, make adjustments when I needed them and send several confirmations to me in advance to make sure I was in good shape for the move. I had a morning move scheduled yesterday and my 3-man crew, led by Nate with support from Julian and Craig was top notch. Nate called me beforehand to make sure he knew exactly where I needed him to go and to give me an ETA and they were right on time. They were also incredibly patient when the loading dock was unexpectedly unavailable due to a contractor deciding to sneak in without permission to make a delivery. They were quick and efficient with loading the truck and took special care to anything I had pointed out as delicate or fragile. They double checked with me for any special instructions and were quick to get across the neighborhood to my new place. The move-in was even faster than the move-out; we got everything off the truck and into the new place in maybe about 45 minutes. Nate double checked that I was satisfied with the placement of everything and their service before going through billing. Once I confirmed that I was, Nate walked us through the updated charges, which came in comfortably at the bottom range of my initial quote and ran our payment. The guys stuck around for a walkthrough with the building's maintenance to demonstrate their care for the elevator and commons spaces as well. I finished unpacking everything today and found that all of my possessions were in perfect condition, as I had left them. I appreciate the crew's care of my items, making the day run smoothly (and having patience when it didn't, due to third parties), and their top notch customer service. I have moved a few times in Chicago; this was the smoothest and quickest move of any of them. The guys from Move-tastic! were outstanding. The office quoted me accurately (no hidden fees and no unrealistic promises---thanks Dana) and there were no surprises at the end. In fact, the movers were able to move me quicker than the original estimate and no moving company has ever done that for me before. I have used 3 other moving companies over the years and this crew from Move-tastic!, Mike P., Jack G., Calvin R. and Kyle R., were the best crew!. I do not exaggerate in saying that these 4 guys were amazing. They were self-directed and professional and were very strategic about how they moved my belongings. I appreciated that they took the time to map out a plan to both load the truck and unload the truck before they started moving my possessions. This made the entire process much more efficient. The moving crew really hustled but were also very careful in ensuring that my valuable item were carefully moved and treated with care. I appreciated that they were respectful of my new carpeting and made sure it didn't get dirty as they moved stuff into the new place. More than anything, they had a positive attitude about the work and were more than happy to make sure that all the furniture was in the right place and all the boxes were placed into the right rooms. I was impressed with their excellent customer service and thoroughness. It's been a few days since the move and now that everything is unboxed and unwrapped I can also say that nothing , not one thing, was broken during this move. That is also a first for me as in every one of my previous moves with other companies, I have had a few items damaged. I highly recommend these guys for anyone who is moving and although I don't plan on moving anytime again in the next 20 years, I would use them again if I did need movers. I LOVE these guys. Moving is stressful, so why be stressed out by your movers, too? It does not happen like that with these guys. I've used them for each of my last two moves and both times they were incredible. Their quotes come back high, but don't be put off. Even so, they came in lower than all the rest of the quotes I got for my most recent move and the actual cost was lower than their project minimum. The team of movers they sent was fantastic. They estimated that we'd need 5-7 hours, 4 guys, and 2 trucks. We didn't need to 2 trucks, so we only got charged for one, however, because they had scheduled me for 2, I ended up with 2 drivers/team leaders on my move. Manny and LeVar were incredible. If you can request team leaders, ask for these guys. As soon as they walked in, their relaxed tone and reassurance had me feeling instant relief. Shout out to Francisco and Nathan, too. All four of these guys were chatty and friendly as they passed by or completed tasks. We had ordered some additional packing/moving supplies that we didn't end up using--no problem: removed from the final invoice without me even having to ask. There was a slight mix up with the charge for the second truck ending up on my final invoice, which neither I nor Manny noticed, but as soon as I did, I emailed. The office responded right away, was apologetic, and handled the refund promptly and without issue. One of the things I love about this company is that you pay a flat fee for moving supplies (blankets, tape, shrink wrap), so you don't have to have a heart attack when they're being really careful to safely wrap everything up. They emailed a week ahead of time to confirm. Then they called the day before to confirm and solidify the move start time. And the guys called when they were on their way. They take apart and reassemble furniture as needed. They are truly consummate professionals. Anybody using a different moving company is just silly. read more

We moved yesterday. This was our first time using a moving company. We were moving from one bed into another one bedroom. At first, getting a response from them is super fast, I have contacted three companies in the same day, only Move-tastic responded right away, the following email exchanges both occurred within an hour. This is actually when I decided that we would use them, because they're so reliable from the beginning. The estimated moving time is between 3.5 - 5 hours. We were done by 3.5. Woohoo!! We were scheduled for afternoon move, which required us to standby between 1-4pm. The guys finished up their morning move around one, and called me telling me they would grab a quick lunch, and we start moving around 2pm. Brian, Carl and Jaylen were the ones who helped us out, they were super super efficient, polite. We have a big couch that caused trouble when it first came, it almost didn't fit through the front door. They handled it really well, when coming out of the building. Even better than the furniture company guys when they first came. When we got to our new place, they went through a whole lot of trouble to get it through again. Then there was the armoire. It's from Ikea, we could have taken it apart, but to save some time, I wonder if the guys could just move it like that. They did, and again they went through a hell lot of trouble to get it in our bedroom. We are both amazed and super super impressed. My husband said he was going to give up on the couch seeing that it almost couldn't make it. But Brian (the leader of the group) said that they would never give up until they get it in. They also really cautiously use plastic wraps to wrap up most of the things that we didn't think need protecting to protect them. All in all, we could not ever have done the moving if without you guys! You're really fantastic. I only wish I had more cash on me to tip them more and more. read more

The search for a move is over - Movetastic is it! Jaylen T and Zavion H from Movetastic were rockstars on my move yesterday. Initially I was deciding between Movetastic and a few other of the established, well-reviewed teams around Chicago. I ended up going with Movetastic because the reviews were a bit better than the other guys, and frankly, the website and customer service seemed VERY professional. Detailed quote, FAQs, and pretty much a 1-2 hour response to my emails (at least during regular business hours, YMMV). Called them twice and had pretty short wait (less than 5 seconds) as well. That's a sign of a well-run company. Also, they let you use credit card for any size bill (aka not just $600+). And to my surprise, they didn't even tack on a CC fee. It's 2017, this should be the gold standard for all companies, but Movetastic is definitely ahead of the pack on this one. I had an elevator reserved at my destination place across town, and they were able to accommodate an 8 am move-start-time from their usual 9 am. As for the actual move - pretty seamless. I had 2 couches, 3 tables, queen + box + frame, heavy desk and chair, and about 10 heavy boxes and some art. Jaylen and Zavion were extremely fast and professional. The tables had glass tops -- they wrapped them up separately and they arrived without a scratch. Best part was their pricing - which was excellent value. Think it was $50 all-in material fees, so no surprises at the end. They quoted 2-4.5 hours for the move. Total move took exactly 2 hours with two guys - that included driving across town for 30 minutes. SUPER fast work, and quite the surprise! Other big companies wanted to send 3 guys for 2.5 hour minimum. That would have been 7.5 hours booked for what turned out to be a 4 hour job for Movetastic. You do the math. I want to thank Mike, Mike and Tom for their exceptional work and professionalism on Saturday. These gentlemen called me when they were 45 minutes away, texted me when they were 3 minutes away, showed up smiling, and asked how they could help. It was a Cubs home game on a Saturday, on the first day of 2017 that the weather was sunny and above 70 degrees. And I live a stone's throw from Wrigley Field. Close your eyes and picture the amount of drunk assholes running around shirtless that day. The amount of car and human traffic didn't matter. It also didn't matter that Mike, Mike and Tom had to park a tenth of a mile away from my home and carry the couch down busy sidewalks. It's because they're professionals. (Yet so down-to-Earth.) Mike, Mike and Tom moved the world's biggest, two-piece couch down three narrow flights of stairs, and in an instant, they were gone. They took care of the furniture and kept it pristine. My cousin Wendy now has the couch in the same beautiful condition that I had it. And it took these guys no time at all. And we listened to good old school hip hop (EPMD) as they did it. And afterwards we all just hung out for a few minutes and talked about the city. These guys were like my brothers. This isn't my first time reviewing Move-Tastic. The management hires the best employees. Mike Gordon, Mike Rios, and Tom Berry are my friends and I know that these gentlemen, all three of them, will go very far in life. I worked with Lamar, Marcus, and Killian back in August for my move to Chicago from a Chicago suburb. Everything could not have gone better! They were perfectly on time and contacted me twice in the week before my move to make sure everything was on schedule. I was just moving some living room furniture, some bedroom furniture, some suitcases and about 8 medium sized boxes, so it wasn't a full apartment move. It had been scheduled to take at least 3 hours, but it took a little under 3 hours. They had initially given me a quote that was much more expensive than the actual price the move ended up being. They had let me know at the beginning of the move that they were going to try as much as they could to make the move as fast as possible to save me money. At first I was skeptical, because I assumed that they would make sure they could end up getting the higher end of the quote, because for that amount of moving (between two apartments, neither of which had elevators) they would want to maximize the amount of money they were making (as naturally anyone doing any sort of profession would want to do). However, I was SO pleasantly surprised they 100% put the customer first, and they were incredibly efficient and made my moving cost on the lower end of the initial quote that I received! They even installed my bed. For the amount that a U-Haul truck and getting people to help me move my stuff would be, in addition to just the time and the potential injuries that could be caused carrying such heavy equipment, and the time it would take to take a part and then reinstall my bed, it might have cost just as much money as Movetastic. But Movetastic made the move so smooth and hassle free that I would take them over moving myself any day! For both convenience and economic reasons, Movetastic is the way to go. read more

WoW... I just had a first class moving experience with Move-tastic! My movers, Dylan, KJ and Garrett, were professional, friendly, and polite with expert strength and moving skills, like how to wrap furniture correctly for transport and storage, which pieces of furniture I could use pads for and which ones I could get by without the pads, etc. I ended up buying 4 pads from them. Move-tastic moved me from a one-bedroom 2nd floor walk up to a storage unit. I was packed and ready to go upon arrival on my moving day. I had decided to use Move-tastic after doing some research online and reading their positive reviews as a Chicago mover. The online generated moving estimate feature on their web site was super user friendly. I felt I received better service with Move-tastic, than any other larger Chicago moving company I reached out to, who were not as quick to respond (or some who never responded) to my moving estimate inquiry. Move-tastic's response time by phone and e-mail setting up and prepping for the move was very quick. Move-tastic was very up-front with the costs and fees involved with my move. I like how the cost was clearly spelled out for me multiple times and I could visually see the cost break down on their ipad the day of the move. For reference, I booked this moving company about 12 days before my move date. Like Move-tastic promises that 90% of the time the final cost due at the end will be under the original estimate given, this was true in my case also! Always a bonus and much appreciated! I cannot say ENOUGH good things about this moving company. They did a wonderful job and I am so pleased with how it all turned out. This company. THE BEST. Like the majority of individuals, the prospect of moving produces sufficient anxiety akin to initiate a fight/flight/freeze reaction in me. I always veer towards the latter reaction; I get so stressed out and overwhelmed by all that must be done that I just don't do anything, which can be problematic. This most recent move makes it my second go-around with Move-Tastic. Last year when I moved to East Rogers Park, they made the moving process as smooth as possible. The communication was timely, they accommodated my requested move date, and they provided an accurate time window and adhered to it. The companies take SUCH pride in their work. The movers are meticulous- all furniture and boxes remained in pristine condition throughout both moves. Prices are reasonable as well. I just recently moved again and was grateful to have Devin C, Jonathan T, and Benjamin V as my movers. Again, flawless and meticulous with every single aspect of the move. All three gentlemen were exceedingly (and authentically) friendly, humorous, and polite. They moved all furniture and boxes beautifully and even managed to get my massive couch in a rather narrow doorway by removing (and subsequently replacing) the doorframe. I was marveling at the teamwork. Another thing that I appreciate is that Devin, Jonathan, and Benjamin seemed to be having a blast as they went about their work; they were joking around with one another and seemed to be really enjoying themselves. Not only is it lovely to be around people who actually enjoy their work, but it also relaxed me and managed to soften the resting bitch face I had plastered on my face since the move began. I have moved over 20 times in my life, and I have never had movers as incredible as Move-tastic! I cannot recommend them highly enough. Our movers (Mike, Chris, Aaron, and Justin) were extremely professional and so fast (while still being careful)! They never took a break! Mike called us when they were on their way to the apartment to let us know that they would be there shortly. When they got to the apartment, Mike walked around with us to make sure he knew which items were especially fragile/valuable. They treated all of our belongings with care, but it was nice to know that they wanted to make sure that they were especially careful with our valuables. Once they started the move, they worked like a well-coordinated machine! If there were an Olympic competition for moving, Mike, Chris, Aaron, and Justin would easily win! They moved everything out of my 900sqft apartment within 45 minutes. I have never seen movers work with such speed and efficiency! It really seemed like they took pride in their work. Once we were at the new apartment, they made sure to place all of the furniture where we wanted it. After everything was moved, Mike made sure to walk around with us to make sure there were not any damages (there were none - everything was in perfect condition, and there were no marks on the walls or floors), and checked if we wanted any additional help moving our furniture around. The whole process was absolutely seamless (it only took about 2.5-3 hours from start to finish), and frankly, I feel like an idiot for ever moving myself or using a different moving company! If you are moving, use Move-tastic! It was a perfect, stress-free experience - something I never would have expected from a move! read more
