Food not worth the price when there are better restaurants in the area. How do you screw up a turkey sandwich?

Kind of a mixed few experiences at this place. The first time we went we really liked their korean tacos and a rice bowl, but when I've gone twice since then I have found the food to be lacking for the price and portion size. Their feast fries are excellent, but I've taken to just getting a shared plate or two, and then going down the street for other food or drinks. I would say my experience with the service has been average. Nothing spectacular when it came to recommendations or accommodations for dietary restrictions, but nothing notably terrible. I felt like the last time I went the staff was maybe younger or less experienced, so hopefully they improve with time. Also, I know they got a lot of flack last year for their signs. I know they as business owners have a right to support whomever/whatever, it just kind of ruins the ambiance and makes me uncomfortable to dine in there now. I don't want to feel like, by dining at your establishment, that I am supporting your beliefs, left or right. read more

A rare find where you can avoid seed oils! Each time we visit, the food is great. Wheaton's BEST!

It is all about the food here. Wow. Came here for lunch, not sure what to expect other than healthy food, and had one of the best lunches I've had in a very long time. The food was incredibly fresh, bursting with flavor, and there was plenty of it, all perfectly cooked. I don't know why I waited so long to come to this restaurant, it was one of the best lunches I've had in a long time. Polite staff, great location, will definitely be back, and often. read more

Food was mid at best, I guess you can't rely on your politics and dog whistles to run a business. We went to this place because other restaurants nearby were too busy, and though I didn't feel welcome because of the hate imagery out front - I was willing to give this place a try. I'm not much for health food, which is what I had thought Movable Feast would be, but I was pleasantly surprised. A warm and modern ambiance for a surprisingly large space. A delicious Bolognese with homemade pasta cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Wonderful pastries. Superb cocktails made with care and flair! Came here for brunch with my parents and two year old. Service was friendly. Gave us several seating choices. They gave my toddler crayons and a kids menu. Kids menu included a drink and was $8 per meal. My mother had the sweet potato eggs Benedict. She said it was good but probably would try something different next time. My father had a burger and fries. He really enjoyed it. I had a Turkey sandwich and fries. The sandwich had a truffle sauce, bacon, apples, and Turkey. I enjoyed it. Second time in a row-poor indifferent service. Took 12 minutes for the waitress to check in after trying to flag the busboy who was standing facing me but watching the tv! Hostesses busy in chatter- my branzino was not properly deboned and each bite was full of bones- Lauren told me that was how it was served after conferring with the kitchen and didn't seem to know what to do- I ordered another dish- nothing for my troubles. I only gave four stars because I didn't get to check the inside of the restaurant (we ate outdoors), not even the restroom. I may switch it up to 5 stars at a later date. I do highly recommend this restaurant, even though we've only tried it once (party of three). Two of us ordered salads that were truly amazing, and one of us ordered the beets & avocado nachos. It was my hubby who ordered the latter, couldn't finish it, so when he offered me a taste, I couldn't help but finish it!!! So good! I had to take home half my salad because it was huge. Absolutely fabulous, very loaded salad with expensive ingredients like pine nuts and a slab of caramelized salmon. Downtown Wheaton is a great place to dine, especially now that the weather is warm. One street (North Hale Street) is closed off to traffic, has an extended white tent on the street making it a large outdoor dining area connecting the restaurants. Very nice ambiance. We will surely bring more health-conscious friends to this restaurant when they come to town. read more

I recently met a few friends here for brunch and we fell in love. There is plenty of street parking if not there is a Public parking garage around the corner and it's free to park. The restaurant decor is very modern and trendy. Our waitress was super friendly and was attentive to our needs specially keeping our coffees hot and not having to ask. Large shareable plates and the food tasted amazing. Their million dollar bacon OMG so good and addicting. I'm obsessed with their sweet potato wedges and the dipping sauce. This will become a go-to place for cute yummy brunch with my girlies and it's so close to home. read more

We recently discovered this spot and are beyond obsessed. We have quickly become regulars. The sweet potato turkey meatballs are heavenly. We also love the pastries in the to-go case. The carrot cake cookie sandwiches with maple frosting are out of this world. Definitely try the figgy salad- nothing compares. read more

We came here with our extended family yesterday, and ordered almost everything on the menu to try it out. The outdoor seating is beautiful under the community's patio that serves a bunch of other restaurants on the street. There was live music, and the weather was perfect! Our server Marika was professional and knowledgeable, and did a great job throughout our meal. The food, too, was incredible - the highlights were the Buffalo chicken sandwich, mozzarella, and the shishito pepper dishes. We waited an hour for food, so Mike, the manager, quickly agreed to comp our entire bill. He apologized profusely and talked about the labor shortage and how they had started turning away customers who were walking in because they couldn't fulfill the demand. What sad times - a restaurant that has so much promise unable to serve its guests because of the recent labor shortage (but high unemployment rate?) don't want to get too political but I definitely feel bad for the restaurant. The food was expertly designed and well-prepared, and we ended up having a great time despite being hangry. Of course we offered to pay something - we landed at 50% so we could still grab a receipt and tip the wait staff their 20% on the full meal. Mike if you're reading this, thank you and your entire team for the great hospitality and we will be back the next time we are in your neck of the woods! Went to Moveable Feast for Valentine's Day with my wife of 32 years. Had a reservation and walk in and saw it was quite a hopping place. Greeted by Smarlyn (hope I spelled that correctly) and she was active immediately in finding us a table. We stood there for no more than 2 minutes and Sam the manager was apologizing for the wait and took care of us. We were seating shortly there after...honestly I have never seen such customer service so communicative and decisive. Our experience continued through the service of our server Marika, she was very attentive. I also noticed another server (Hunter) handle a difficult situation at the table next to us. Figgy green salad is the best salad you will ever have in your life! I dream about this salad. Fries and artichoke aioli were also to die for. The drinks are gorgeous, the Bloody Mary (which usually comes with whiskey but I got with vodka) was good but very spicy! Took a little while to get our checks so service was a tad bit slow but we weren't really in a rush. read more

Came for Sunday lunch and it seemed like they were quite backed up. The indoor seating didn't seem that full, but maybe they had a lot of outdoor parties? (There's a huge shared tent on the street outside that the restaurants on the block share for outdoor space) It took us a really long time to get our food, but the waitress was very nice and checked up on us a lot. Tandoori Chicken Bowl ($19): The chicken was nicely blackened and tender on the inside. The dish is definitely a fusion of Indian and Mediterranean, but it did seem to lean more to the Mediterranean side. It comes with a yogurt(?)-based sauce on the chicken, topped with fried sweet potato shavings. It also comes with jasmine rice, hummus, and chickpeas. It's actually quite a creative dish and pretty the different flavors all come together nicely. Definitely tastes different from what you'd expect based on the name, though. Portion size is rather small for a $19 dish. Feast Burger ($24): Their signature burger is usually $22, but we substituted salmon, which costs +$2. The salmon is pretty good. The cheese (I forgot the name) was very good - very slight goat taste, squeaky like cheese curds, light. The brioche buns were nice, buttered and toasted. The fries on the side are really good! They were super crispy and came with a delicious sauce... some kind of Tahini sauce? The burger is actually decently big in comparison to the price. Their food is really high quality and creative. They do have a unique selection of dishes. They only had brunch dishes when we went, and the selection was sadly kind of limited. Their waitstaff are very friendly. My only complaints are that the food was slow to come out and the tandoori chicken bowl was pretty small for the price. In general, the prices are higher, but it is definitely worth a try. read more

However, towards the end of dinner the restaurant filled up and I was feeling strange sitting so close to a stranger during this time of social distancing. This review is regarding a waitress they have working there, Kate. She was a horrible waitress. I asked for a Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi, whichever they have and she told me they have "Mexican Coke" what the hell is that?! I said, you don't have Diet Pepsi, she said yeah we do, I was like well that's what I asked for. She was not attentive and literally forgot about us sitting in the back. I had to get up and go ask someone if she was still there! The guy I asked said she was still there and he would send her back and even then she took a bit to come back to the table. The place wasn't even crowded. Anyway, Kate finally comes and takes our to go order, since we wanted to take some food home too. Comes back with the to go food and checks, there were three of us and she brought three separate checks, great! Well we tipped according to what we felt she deserved (even then, she actually got more than what she deserved). Also by the way, anytime we go out to eat, we are VERY generous tippers, but do tip accordingly. I go to the washroom and come back and she was at the table talking to my sister and when I walked up, I heard her saying, she left me 10% and you left me 18% and she left me 15% and I just wanna know why? Was there something wrong with my service? She was legit upset! I said to her wait, you're actually questioning your tip? She kept saying that she wanted to know if there was something wrong with the service, but she knows what she was doing. I honestly never in my life have ever had anyone do something like this, I was shocked! Not to mention there were other people sitting around and she was pointing at each of us telling us what we gave her for a tip! It was the most absurd thing! The audacity! So she finally walks away and I go ask for the manager, who happened to be the guy that I asked if she was still there. His name was Sam and he was very nice and very apologetic, he said he was embarrassed and that he would let the owner know. I sure hope he did because employees like this (speaking of employees like that, there were a couple of them behind the deli counter giving us some of the hardest looks, they must be friends!) are going to drive away customers! Came in on a Friday night and for a yelp event and decided to order a drink at the bar and some dinner to go. Joe recommend I order the feast burger and I'm happy he did! It was the best burger and fries that I've had in a while and it was the first time I tried halloumi cheese. Since I didn't get to eat my dinner until a couple hours later I put my fries in the air fryer and I'm assuming they would have been that crispy and good if ate them at the restaurant. This is THE cutest place with the best ambiance around. Everything from the lighting to the dish ware made for a pleasant experience! The service is also great--there was even a huge party of maybe 20+ that ordered before us, yet our food arrived quickly and promptly after we ordered. The Beet Nachos stole the show. The sweet mandarin oranges combined with the earthy beetroot and salty wonton chips created a rich flavor profile--delicious! The Market Bowl could use some work--I ordered mine vegan without protein, and it fell short of expectations. The rice was very bland (definitely needed salt) and it looked like they REALLY skimped on the dill cashew cream dressing. Overall, very bland. The Market Bowl with Salmon was a different story--hearty and praised by my friends. Perhaps I just got the odd bowl out! I really enjoyed dining at this restaurant this past weekend. The weather was beautiful and we were sitting outside which positively added to our experience. My husband ordered steak frites and I ordered Figgy Green Salad with salmon. I also ordered Punch Drunk cocktail. The frites were delicious and the portion was huge! My salad was yummy as well, the salmon was cooked perfectly, I really enjoyed it. My cocktail, however, tasted like hand soap. The presentation was beautiful but I couldn't finish even half of it due to odd taste. The service was friendly and efficient so 4 stars overall. I've been here before (not my first visit) and I think it's really gone down hill. Had the salmon and it was bland and unattractive. My wife had the market bowl with chicken. Also, disappointing. Not much flavor. The service was fine, though not particularly attentive and we waited to get our water filled a couple times. There are many nice places in Downtown Wheaton. This was my second time coming here and just as enjoyable as my first visit. Hale Street in downtown Wheaton is blocked off for dining under a tent with several of the restaurants on that street. It's a nice big area if you enjoy dining outside. Service was a tad slow but we weren't in a hurry so we were okay with it. The menu has a good variety ( juices, coffee, cocktails, salads, sandwiches, bowls, etc). Everything I've had has tasted flavorful and fresh! I am leaving a two rating based on my past experiences for the most part being decent. My experience last night was one of the biggest customer experience debacles I've experienced in a while. My wife and I had reservations for VD weekend and were provided a nice table. Unfortunately that was the highlight of the dinner. From there, we waited over five minutes before anyone greeted us or checked in. While that in itself isn't a big deal, it fits with the overall experience. After our waiter arrived, we ordered an IPA and ordered our meal. My wide ordered the Saturday chicken sandwich special and I ordered the BLT burger, cooked medium rare. The burger came out well done, which was disappointing but the waiter said he would take it back. Unfortunately the waiter got confused and brought the same burger back cooked even more well done. (Meanwhile my wife had her meal for about ten minutes). Then the waiter said he would get a new burger cooked medium rare, but five minutes later a burger came out that wasn't the burger I ordered. #smh Then he brought another burger out and after cutting it, it was well done. At that point, my wife was done with her meal. The waiter then told us we wouldn't be charged for the meal, which I never ate. After which we expressed our disappointment and he told us there wouldn't be a charge. I realize poor experiences happen once in a while but this one was next level. We saw the manager on staff who was standing by the hostess stand and mentioned what happened. He apologized but we left wondering why he didn't help manage the situation in the first place. read more

The cookie I got was off the charts amazing, it was the chocolate chip sea salt oat cookie. It was packed with chocolate chips and soft in the middle, yum! I recently went to Moveable Feast for brunch with a friend. Neither of us had been before, but were eager to try. I definitely expected a crowd on a Saturday at 12:30, but was surprised to see many open tables and no wait. With so many open tables, we opted to sit by the window. Our waitress was nice and answered our questions about the menu, as well as recommended a few dishes when we asked. The only downfall was she seemed very rushed, but I'm not sure why since the restaurant wasn't busy. I kept having to wait until she came back to ask her another question or for more coffee. The menu is not your average breakfast / lunch menu, which is appreciated. They do their own take on things. My friend and I split a quiche as an appetizer, which was good but didn't reheat all the way so the center was cold. The side salad it came with was delicious and dressed well. I ordered the Rey eggs which was absolutely delicious! Every bite had texture and a perfect blend of flavors and temperatures. I would absolutely get it again! My friend ordered the waffles and let's just say she didn't leave much on the plate. We were both very pleased with the food and the coffee was great!! For those interested to know the ambience... there's definitely an Art Deco, mid-century modern vibe. It feels a bit sterile or empty though. Regardless, I'd come back for sure!! read more

4 stars. I was meeting a friend for a quick hug and a 'howudoin' when I happened upon this little gem. She's a doctor...totally into improving her gut health and the whole functional medicine thing and she wanted to check out this joint. The hostess warmly greeted us and encouraged us to check out their quick service area in the back that's more coffeehouse and less restaurant. She said they have a juice bar and my eyes lit up! Upon walking to the back, we took in the beautiful decor and noticed a little alcove where a few folks had setup their mobile offices for the day. Such a gorgeous place to work...definitely beats Starbucks and Panera as far aesthetics. It's got several gluten-free offerings...vegan offerings...veggie offerings...basically, everybody can eat here. The princess of Chicago, Oprah, even vouches for this place! Their brownie has been included on her 'Favorite Things' list...and lucky you, there's a check in goodie - you can grab one for free! SCORE! There a cooler with take home meals ready to grab and go. Perfect for the busy professional or the parent who doesn't have time to cook before soccer practice. There were several goodies on display on top of the counter that looked delicious, but they weren't covered! Very European. And that was cool when I lived abroad, but I'm not so comfortable with that stateside. With the doors open, I'm sure there were flying friends in there. That was a hard pass for me. I decided to try the Hot Shot...a freshly pressed juice drink made with jalapeño and turmeric and fruit/veggie juices. But....the barista said she'd just cleaned the machine and closed the juice bar. Ugh!!!! Apparently, the juice bar closes at 3. Who knew? Definitely not the hostess...I had to debit them a star for getting my hopes up and then crushing my dreams. My friend grabbed some tuna salad that had some different ingredients. It looked amazing! I don't do mayo, so I didn't try it. We sat in the little alcove and had the most delightful time. I hate to disagree with the glowing reviews but my experience left me in a very different place. First, the good: fries with artichoke aioli were fabulous. Would definitely order again. The chocolate cherry cupcake was also superb. But that's where it stopped. The Avocado BLT Burger was possibly the most tasteless burger I've ever had - with the exception of the bacon which was delish. Meat had no salt or seasoning and the rest of the elements were pretty tasteless as well. Flourless chocolate cake was awful - hard, dense (and not in a good flourless chocolate cake way), strange un-chocolate flavor with runny, tasteless frosting. I truly didn't know flourless chocolate cake could be so horrible. Could barely cut it with a knife. Perhaps it was stale - I don't know. Service was mediocre at best; server was polite but we were ignored most of the evening. To sum it up - they hit it out of the ballpark on some items and the rest were a swing and a miss. Very inconsistent. Will not return. read more
