I needed to move from a 2 bedroom apt in San Bruno to a new home in Daly City... I decided to yelp movers and called around to get quotes... I settled on Mover Man Moving Services... This father son team did not disappoint... They were super professional, quick, fast and efficient... They were able to move my apt into the new house in a little under 4 hours... They even took apart and set up my beds... The most amazing thing was thief ability to get 2 large sofas into the house (1 already in the house and needed to go into the spare bedroom/office and the other from my apt) The space they had to work with was very confining... Without skipping a beat they were able get the sofas into the house, doors needed to be removed and legs taken off, but they would not give up and I appreciate their hard work and effort... Martin and Augustine helped us move heavy furniture and boxes from the second floor living area of our house to their truck for recycling/disposal - s very difficult task because our stairway is not straight; there's a dog leg turn. They were so courteous, careful, efficient, and professional in their work and interactions. Not only did they move the items, they helped by recommending possible disposition sites. We were not certain what to do with the removed contents, so they first took them to St. Vincent, then took what was not accepted to a recycling/waste disposal center. The price they charged was so reasonable and the work was so outstanding that we gave them a tip. You can't find such great help anywhere these days! We certainly recommend them, and are so grateful to them for their helping us get through what would have been a physically demanding and stressful move. Forewarning: This is a looooong review with advice about my out of state move. We were moving and had gotten several quotes from larger companies. Here are the things other companies don't tell you when they come give you a free estimate: #1-Your stuff will be loaded with other people's belongings so they can fill the truck. #2-The delivery window can be up to 14 days. Meaning you could be sitting in your new home for two weeks without anything. They say, "well, people usually stay in a hotel or with friends until they get their belongings." #3-If they DON"T deliver within the 14 day contract window, their only penalty is about $150/day or expenses if you have receipts for lodging. #4-If they damage your stuff and you didn't buy the insanely expensive additional insurance, they'll only reimburse you about $0.60/lb. Meaning that new light weight flat screen TV you had them pack would only get you about $18 if it's damaged. #5-Some of the companies I interviewed don't pack plants, wine bottles or any liquid in glass whether opened or not, or candles. #6-If they underestimated how much stuff you have, they will not pack anything into the truck over the cubic feet they've allotted for you. So if you're moving out of state, you're SOL until you figure out what to do with the rest of your items. #7-The estimator coming to your home and selling you the service is doing only that. They often hire third party companies to do the actual move and they usually don't care since it's not their company name on the line. I didn't want to take my chances and didn't have the luxury of staying in a hotel waiting for my stuff for 2 weeks. Martin was completely different from the moment we met him. He looked at our space and offered us ways to save money: buy our own boxes (he could give us the place he get s his boxes from that are cheaper), rent reusable boxes, etc. We hired him to pack and ship our VERY FULL 2 bedroom condo. He was able to give us a dedicated move, meaning he will be moving just my house from SF to Portland and his initial quote was about 25% less than the big companies for their combined services (see #1 above). He was responsive, prompt, on-time, and professional. I felt good knowing he is the man that will be doing my move, hands on and supervising. He takes great pride in maintaining good customer service and a good business name. So why the 4 rather then 5 star? He underestimated the amount of stuff I actually had, by about half. Instead of one 20' truck, we ended up needing an additional 25' truck since we were overweight. Yes, we have A LOT of stuff, but double the estimated cubic footage was a little surprising. I ended up paying 50% more than the initial quote for the extra truck plus drivers and labor. I was glad to do it though because Martin was completely transparent about it from the moment he knew there was a problem. He even showed me the truck rental receipt for how much it actually cost him. He even helped me dispose of a large couch and cat tree for free. I also want to mention that they moved my 55 gal fish tank without casualty. The last reason for deducting 1 star is that the people he hired for the packing and unloading didn't care as much as he did. Some of them probably weren't his regular guys so they just threw things into boxes and multiple items arrived broken; we also discovered two 2" sized holes in the walls of our new home after they left. I'm sure Martin wasn't aware of this, otherwise he would have told us. The boxes Martin himself packed were bubble or paper wrapped. No one likes moving. Overall, Martin was by far, the best company to go with in this stressful situation and I feel like the hiccups were handled in the best way. I have recommended him to my friends who are moving and would use him again if he is adventurous enough to want to work with all of my stuff again should I need to move. :) read more

I am so glad I called these guys. I needed help moving some big pieces of furniture from my house to my new house (which is only a 5 minute drive). The 2 guys came right on time and asked me to point out all the furniture I needed help with. After that they literally did everything for me. They used blankets and saran wrap to protect eveything and they had no problem disassembling my bed and putting it back together. It was a great service. We had a two bedroom apartment in San Bruno that we needed loaded on to our rental truck for a move to Nevada. My husband got quotes from several companies and settled on Mover Man. We arranged for them to come with a 3 guy team in the late afternoon. They had another move that took them a little longer than expected before they came to us, but Martin kept us updated with their ETA, and showed up with a total of 4 guys. I don't know how many jobs they had had that day, but everyone got right to work and had a great attitude, and even smiles and greetings for my "helpful" toddler daughter. They worked diligently carrying our possessions down the stairs and running back up for more over and over. My husband and I thought that Martin would be justified in charging more than the price they had agreed on over the phone, since they had brought an extra guy and it took a little longer but when it came time to settle, Martin asked for the original amount. I give a 4 for the service itself, but a 2 for the confusing end and 2.5 hour late arrival. I booked the service last week Thursday for today at 3pm. I called at 3:12pm when no one had arrived and I'd not received a call regarding eta. I allied again 10 min later. Followed up by texting at 3:34pm. I received a text in response at 3:45pm citing mechanical issues and an estimated fix time of 30 min followed by departure from Oakland to San Bruno. They arrived at 5:33pm, were pleasant and apologized. I asked if there would be a discount given the tardiness and they said there would be. They packed everything, no items damaged and worked at a decent pace. At the end of the move, he gave me the total and stated that he would discount me $100 and asked if I felt that sufficient. I told him no, and before I could explain why he said "No charge then," and quickly left. I followed telling him that they provided a service and I owed them compensation, but just wanted to discuss the discount (as I lost 2 hours at work by leaving early to move), but he would not allow me to finish and just kept saying no. He was not aggressive in anyway, but just said no and hurriedly closed up the truck and left. I am unsure what to do and am worried I'm going to get some notice of owning money or something. The service was done and done well, though delayed. I think they ARE in fact worth hiring. I'm just at a loss of what to do now...? Also just noticed that they left their tools behind. I don't think I've ever written a yelp review before but martin and his crew were fantastic. I was moving from a singular bedroom in a house to a studio. The elevator in my new building was broken and I was moving to the fifth floor, so I knew I was going to need a lot of help. I got a crew of 3 movers for $180 and hour about a week before my move in date. The day before my move in date, I learned that it was going to be storming all moving day and Martin didn't cancel on me. He and his crew came over exactly on time, took down my bed frame, wrapped up my things drove two miles (a 20 minute drive in the city) to my other place and moved everything up five flights of stairs and put my bed frame back together in 2.5 hours. This includes the breaks they took and moving the truck around the block a few time. I feel incredibly grateful for Martin and his crew, my move in day would've been a disaster without them. If you choose to go with them for your moving day make sure to tip them big because they absolutely deserve it! read more

My son Greg and I needed to move a high end 8 piece office furniture set from San Francisco to a veterinary clinic in Woodside. My wife's co-worked Pauline who recently moved to a new house recommended Mover Man Moving Services. My son scheduled the move with them for Saturday morning. Martin, the supervisor and two other movers showed up on time and did a great job. They covered every piece of furniture with moving blankets and wrapped them with saran wrap to make sure nothing got damaged during the move. Their experience showed right away. I recently replaced carpet with wood floors which necessitated moving ALL contents from living room, dining room and kitchen to my garage, then returning it all back. Martin and his workers carefully wrapped/boxed and carried all. They were able to wrap my TV to the stand and include all cords/electrical strip so all I had to do to setup my TV/cable/ DVD player was to simply plug in power strip and cable! Martin and guys even cleaned both sides of all glass table tops and carefully added felt pads to every single table/chair leg in the house so the new wood floors would be protected! WOW!!!! Let me start by saying that my move is still in progress but the service that I received so far has been exemplary! Martin and his crew are some of the most conscientious willing to help and exceeding expectations, group of movers I have ever met in my life. I was faced with problems of having a truck that was too small because budget told me I needed that size. So after three hours of loading a truck, I had to ask Martin and his crew to stop so we can get a bigger truck.
