I have used this mover twice. Good: arrive on time, willing to come most times you need, wraps items in plastic/furniture pads, polite, works pretty quickly Bad: first time I used them was a local move, I said I had a 2-bedroom apartment, however, they sent three movers but too small of a truck, so not all of my items fit. Since I was paying hourly, I didn't want to make two trips, so I ended up having to move the rest of the items myself in my car. Also, movers broke one piece of furniture even though they wrapped it. Didn't offer to pay to have fixed or anything. Second move, I called two weeks early since I was moving the end of the month on a holiday weekend. I again asked for three men for a two-bedroom apartment. Got a confirmation text from Martin. I texted him again the day before the move, however, he did not seem to remember confirming my move and the address I had sent him. On the day of the move, they were on-time, but only sent two men, so they move took longer than it should have. Also, they again broke the same piece of furniture and while move a dresser upstairs, broke a chunk of the trim on the stairway. Didn't seem too concerned about it and I even took and picture and texted it to Martin, I got no response. Probably would not use them again over the mediocre communication and lack of concern over broken items. read more

Its been over 2 months since our move but frankly I've been too exhausted up to now to write this. After 2 months we have not unpacked any broken items and we can see how careful Martin and his guys were with all of our stuff. We had been living in a long term rental for over 22 years. When my father died a couple of years ago my Mom came to live with us and we had to assimilate all of her stuff into our stuff. So we had a lot of stuff! Also to make it more complicated, we live in a 2 story house that had a two flights of stairs to a single lane road. Martin had to stop everything a couple of times to allow traffic to move around them. We were so impressed with Matin! We packed a lot of our stuff but there were a few odds and ends that we needed help to complete. They did it all. We were moving 150 miles away so this was not a short move. The plan was to move on one day and unload on the next day. We had so much confidence with Martin that we left to drive to our new home around noon. I found out that Martin and his guys were there until 8:00 pm that night. They showed up the next morning at a reasonable time. For me when I get tired I start to get sloppy but I was so impressed that he and his guys were careful all the way until the end and didn't bump door jams or scratch furniture! I got a number of estimates and Martin was among the lowest. Frankly, when you are moving a whole house full of stuff you are very exposed because it is not possible to watch everything going on but we never had any doubts about Martin and his guys. I called a bunch of movers that had 5 star reviews to get prices and Martin beat them all. On top of that, Martin and his son arrived on time, they were fast, efficient and very respectful of our property. The day we moved, it rained off and on but they plowed through it like the professionals that they are. They even helped me pick up a dryer from my dad's house on the way to our house. They were getting paid by the hour but they were non-stop and did not take their time! But what I really liked about Mover Man Moving Services is that it's a family-owned and family-operated business. I called and left a message. I received a call back within the hour. I told him my situation, how big my move was. He recommended what he thought how many people were needed. We both decided over the phone that The day of the move, they arrived on time and ready to go. They wrapped TV in blankets, the couch in plastic wrap to make sure that nothing was damaged. Everything was moved out and on the truck. They strapped everything down because of the drive. We arrived at the new place, they unloaded everything and asked me where they wanted the items. They finished well before the estimated time. They didn't even blink when it started to rain. Very professional and very courteous. I hate moving but if I have to, I will use them again. I found this company on Yelp and decided to call them up because they have good review and close to my previous home. It turned out that their rate was the lowest among 5-6 moving companies I had called. I decided to try them out. They showed up earlier than our scheduled appointment (8am) which I like. I was moving from 1 bedroom to 2 bedroom from Daly City to SF. The two of them (one of them looked new and he listened to the other senior guy) were pretty fast and very organized. In the truck, they know what to put where and they used blanket and plastic wrapping the furniture/tv/monitor. They used rope to stabilize the mattress and other stuff. The senior guy knew what to do and they did not try to waste my time by doing things slowly at all. The new guy was a bit slow tho but the senior guy was great. It took us 3 hours in total and they did not break anything. I honestly recommend them! read more

I found these movers because of their 5 star rating on Yelp! one or two negative ones leads me to believe something is wrong with the people who posted! Martin and his helper could not have done a better job. Martin was very responsive and excellent at following up with intitial responses and answering my questions. Phone, email and text!! all good ! Day of move he texted me to let me know was an accident and they were a little late as a result, love that, so nice not to have to sit there and wonder what happened. They got there, ended up 10 minutes past appointment. Martin and his helper could not have been nicer, professional, efficient and so presentable. The move took about 3 hours from start to finish and they worked so hard. And no hidden cost, what he quotes is what it is simple. If you are moving I highly recommend them. I worked with these guys in November and they helped me move from Burlingame to Daly City. They showed up with a truck that was a little too small for our stuff, but they happily made two trips (didn't charge anything for the trips back and forth). They helped take our wall-mounted TV down and even set-up our beds in the new place. We had a bit of a hard time getting some of our furniture upstairs to our new home, but we managed with some strategic planning (including shoving the boxspring through the second story wndow- hey whatever it takes, right?). I can't say enough good things about Martin and Alberto. They carefully packed up everything from my mom's house in SF and set up her new senior apartment in Millbrae. They did not leave until everything was in place. I had called other movers. One did recommend that if I pack all the pictures/artwork in cardboard, it would save them time and me, money. So, that is what I did. Martin and Alberto worked efficiently together. They even helped remove the empty boxes from the new location. They had 2 other jobs today but never did I feel we were rushed. I can't say enough good things about Martin and Alberto. We had a very complex move from a big five room apartment in Miraloma Drive in San Francisco, to a house in Cupertino. We had furniture and about 200 big boxes, and lots and lots of plants. We had lots of stuff to pack, as I have four kids. Mover man worked swift and hard. This was the quickest move I ever did, and it is my fourth move of this scale. The only thing that broke (a picture frame), was fixed quickly and brought to me. Martin and Alberto brough a crew of sometimes 4 people, depending on the amount of work. They spend about two days packing (that's very quick), one day moving, and two days unpacking. They stuck to their schedule, and even provided a contact to a cleaning lady that would clean my empty house (who worked great!) And above all their service, their nice attitude and demeanor and the unbeatable price!!! I highly recommend them to anyone who moves. Used Mover Man to move some furniture and boxes from a home in San Bruno to a 2 bedroom apt. in Alameda. We wanted to move on a Friday but when Martin told me they had another job in the morning and couldn't get to us until 1pm, I became concerned about the hourly rate when they might be caught in traffic on the Bay Bridge. Martin assured us that we would not be charged for time spent in traffic and worked out a flat rate for us. He showed up an hour early after all, loaded the truck, made the move and was still finished by by 4:30pm. His crew worked straight through, never took a break and never complained even when they had to climb two flights of stairs to unload the furniture. Martin is a man of his word and his crew is hard working. We couldn't be happier with their effort, the care they took with our furniture and the price we paid. Martin said he would even come back at a later date to take other furniture off our hands that we couldn't use or donate to charity. We would definitely use him again in the future. read more

Less than stellar experience after hiring them based on the glowing reviews. They do show up on time and have a hard working crew. We were moving from a 4 bedroom house to another 4 bedroom house. My two complaints were that they scratched my marble floor while moving the piano and didn't realize it or bother to look. Secondary, they lost a couple of mounting brackets to my bedroom set, making the cabinet unstable and unsafe as it could fall over on us while sleeping in the event of an earthquake, and then they tried to cover it up. As they were putting it back together, Martin said he misplaced 2 of the 4 brackets and asked me to go back to the old residence to look for them. I drove back there and could not find them. I called Martin on my cell and said the missing parts were not there. He fumbled around a bit over the phone and said he had found them. That evening when we went to bed, I noticed the cabinet was unstable and that the headboard mirror could fall on us. I examined the top and back of the cabinet and sure enough, only 2 of brackets were reinstalled. The next day I texted Martin and asked why he pretended all the parts were reinstalled. He said he would come by the next day to look, but never showed up or heard back from him again. If they had made a mistake and just fessed up, I wouldn't be upset. The denial and cover up is what bothers me plus it was a potential hazard to me and my wife. read more
