That's how I felt driving up to SF to view a Nissan Leaf we liked the look of on their website. Green Light could not have been more of a breath of fresh air. We looked around the cars in the lot entirely unhassled by the sales team. No smell of sleaze as the sharks circle their prey. We had to go into the office to ask for the keys to looks inside the one we like, even then we were left completely alone to - y'know - make our own d*mn minds up. We took the car for a test drive ENTIRELY ON OUR OWN, no blather, no constant triangulation to find our pressure-points, weak-spots. We ended up waiting in their office for while (our fault, not theirs!) and we had nothing but a pleasant conversation with their sales guy about health insurance and weather and stuff. So we bought the car for a perfectly reasonable price. And it's been great. We were never treated with anything but total respect and courtesy. I can't say how utterly different this experience was to what I expected and it's like entering the garden of eden of car sales. It should always have been like this. You guys rock, hard.

He's the consummate professional, excellent work ethic, and absolutely knowledgeable and competent. Eran is so awesome and accommodating. He seems ready and eager to work for & with you, and he made himself available as best he could with me. Even though it's clear from his website the area range he covers, and that he's open to go even further (for, in my opinion a small additional charge), he went extra far for me; and furthermore he's always ready seemingly at a moments notice (which won't always be the case, of course, but shows that as long as he's available, he'll jump to work with you [reflective of how awesome service & work ethic he has])! The extra (again, for an small [IMO] additional charge) he was wonderful in considering for me was even as far as a used car dealership in Roseville! Just FYI, for him Gilroy is too far (haha, had to try, because he's awesome and I was desperate for the car, so for him to). And he works hard to make it that his customers don't have to do anything additional, and that he'll take care of it all -- he doesn't expect you to meet him there (although you have the option; he offered/was-open for me to be there to do it with him, but since the dealerships were like 40+ miles out, I opted not to), or to meet with him beforehand, or even afterward; you can correspond and coordinate just text and/or phone. If anything, you just might have to call the dealership and give them a heads up (telling them the time and Eran's name & business). He goes out, takes the car for about an hour, and checks everything. But beyond that (and what I mean about excellent work ethic and consummate professional) is that he documents it all (photos on top of his notes), and he goes in, around, and even under the car and looks at all the nook and cranny of all the car parts & aspects. He took plenty of photos of anything remarkable of the car (dents, paint deterioration, oil/grease stains [underhood of the car], interior issues, etc.). He has a whole form with a checklist that checks ranging from fluids to condition of belts to lights working to hoses to condition of the tires & brakes and the rest; even takes note if there's a spare tire & wheel jack. Of course he hooks up his OBD tool to check for any codes. Then he sends you the report with all of his findings, gives you a call to talk it all over and he gives his impression, then you send payment -- he's really cool about payment and states "however you want to pay"; Paypal, Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay, Cash, Check, whatever. He gave me the impression that I wanted him to be my own mechanic; so I even asked him. And it's a credit to him to have replied that, to keep professionalism and can't claim exploitation, he doesn't do both (PPI and mechanic). He is on the high end of what you might estim8 ($180; more if you send him outside his normal area/range [I don't believe more than $200]), but I was happy to spend that on him. I'm a novice with cars (general knowledge enough, but not enough to be able to identify whether car parts are in good order and/or would last or not), so I wasn't confident in my ability to buy my first used car. I used him twice (would have been three times, but Gilroy was too far away). In the end, the used car I got has worked great for the last 6 months. And he saved me from buying an amazing car (high end Hyundai; $3k) but in such under-the-hood horrible shape that it would've been 3x the cost of the price just to repair everything -- which is proven when I saw the listing remain for 2 whole months and priced reduced twice down to I believe $2800! After it all, I brought my used car to 2 mechanics after him, and they confirmed 4 out of the 6 concerns he had -- which, granted, it's not like Eran has a car lift and a whole lot of time to thoroughly check as much as a mechanic with a garage would. He mistook cosmetic blemishes on the serpentine belt and the brakes as old age and maybe needing to be replaced -- which didn't end up being the case. But he did get the transmission deficiencies, signs on a certain valve gasket, parking brake, and other aspects right on the mark. I can't say good enough things about him! I was only able to feel confident enough to buy the really old used car that was in my budget because of him. And it's been nothing but a success! 6 months later, after taking care of the issues and potential concerns Eran noted, the car has not given any problems (that could have been foreseen; it still is a really old car so some things are bound to have come up organically) -- proving how much Eran and SafeBuy is really stellar and impeccable! If you're not the best with cars, you can absolutely trust Eran and SafeBuy; as much as you can trust his willingness, commitment, integrity, experience.

All communication was easily done through email and text, although phone and in-person contact was also available. Process starts with completing a convenient online request. From there, Kim contacted me to fully understand my wishlist, range of optional requirements, and any non-negotiables. After reaching out to their dealer network, within a day she provided a list of potential matches with estimated OTD prices, which included some in SoCal available for transfer to the Bay Area and cars still in production with estimated availability dates. I had a lot of questions and some requests and Kim was very responsive and instrumental in relaying them to the dealer and advocating for me. Even my request to remove all dealer installed options was negotiated by Kim and granted by the dealer with no hassle on my end. I paid the BuySide Auto fee to reserve the car for purchase and when the car was available I opted to pickup at their office in SF. Home delivery to SF is also currently no charge, while delivery outside of the city is available with a modest fee. Upon first contact, I asked if weekend pickup or delivery was available, since their normal hours are on weekdays. Kim made note of it and remembered my preference even after the sale was completed. Chris was able to make himself available for Saturday pickup! We took a walk around the car took a look inside. We spent no more than 10 minutes reviewing and signing paperwork, received my keys, and I was off with my brand new car! Update based on Franks response…read more Your response sidesteps your responsibility to check these vehicles coming in for resale. The CARFAX is obviously useless and Certified Pre Owned doesn't mean much either if these types of things slip by your process. Everyone out there that purchased a CPO vehicle from you should be re-running a CARFAX report to check on damages that may not have been reported and notifying Toyota Corporate. Vehicles have a material decrease in value due to past accidents and you effectively knowingly passed that on to me due to your negligence. I'm happy to update this review if you take steps to correct this problem. Expect reviews elsewhere as well until you do.

The owner Sam came across genuine and helpful over the phone when I called to inquire about a 2013 red colored Leaf he was advertising at a good price. His personality and good nature over the phone helped motivate me to drive to Redwood City from Saratoga to see the car. When I got there the car was better than advertised so I was happy, but I noticed he had two more (newer) Leafs on the lot too, including a higher price newer 2015 Leaf in white (was my favorite color and options). He told me that one was not ready for sale yet and needed a couple of small fixes and not yet made fully ready to advertise, but I wanted it anyways and I ended up buying the one I wanted. The online advertised prices these days have to be very competitive to match the market out there and businesses usually post their bottom pricing online. His price advertised online was competitive with private party valuation that KBB gives. And as a dealership he provided the services of DMV registration and all that, so I now prefer to buy from him than from a private party. As I said the car was not fully done and ready yet - driver door remote didn't work and needed to be fixed still - but I needed the car so I took it with understanding that I will being it back two days later when he was originally expecting to get the part and have it taken care of. On my return visit two days later as promised everything went smoothly and the door lock actuator was replaced by his service provider, and my car even got a second wash before I pick it up. They do car detailing and ceramic coating at their location too, which I will likely bring my other (nicer) cars to get done in near future. Sam is a good man running a solid business and this small dealership is on my list of recommendations to my friends going forward. I wrote this rather long review to help a good business continue to do well.

Sam also worked closely with a non-profit I used to work at, and as a result helped change the lives of many individuals who otherwise wouldn't have been able to find an affordable, quality car. Anyone who has experience dealing with car dealerships and salesmen knows that a car salesperson with an altruistic side is hard to find. Final note, while the lot is on the smaller side, Sam has previously been open to keeping an eye out at auctions for specific types of cars if a serious potential client has requests. If you don't need a car right this second this is something to consider.
