Scheduling - I get automated same day emails and phone calls telling me that Moxie is showing up. There is no checking with me and they show up at the least ideal times. Today it was the exact same time my gardeners show up.. Beware if you happen to leave your dogs in the backyard and are not paying attention to your email/text's. Scheduling could be so much better if they gave notice 2-3 days and gave an opportunity for a customer response. Overall they do handle pests well and the technicians are friendly. read more

We have used Moxie for many years now and they are great at working with you and your scheduling. They come on time, give you a 30 min warning that they will be there in 30 min and then there they are right on time. And always very polite. And if I have an issue with bugs between the quarterly sprays, they will come out and do everything they can to get rid of those pesky bugs. Seven years later and I'm still a customer of Moxie Pest Control. They do a fantastic job each and every time. If I happen to be home when they are there for service, the technicians are super polite and ask if there are any specific concerns. Not too long ago I had an ant invasion! The technician gave me some ant baits (it's a gel) and I tell you...strategically placed, those ants are gone within 24 hours. Spectacular! During the past 7 years...NO LIE....I've had ants inside the house maybe three times. ONCE I found a cockroach. Spiders inside the house are minimal. Whatever the secret is, Moxie has it. Just another pest control company that lies to get you to sign a contract and after sounding so appealing with good contract pricing, including so called extras, after signing they "stick it to you" the original discussed pricing plan is somehow now higher and all they tell you is that "you signed the contract" of course I signed it, I trusted what was told and promised to me! They billed me an initial fee, then they say they bill you quarterly, again another lie!!! I got charged 30 days after initial payment cleared and about $70 MORE than what the salesman promised!! The servicing men were kind and polite, but the deceit in trying to trap you into the contract makes Moxie like any other low life business that tricks you and LIES to earn your business!! These guys are ok. I signed up when someone knocked on our door and offered a promo. Pricing was pretty good so I signed up. They contact you before they come out and show up when they say they will. I would say for the most part I didn't have a lot of pest issues while they were servicing my home. I recently switched back to Gallant though because I had a pest issue in my attic and when I called them about it they said they didn't want to go up in the attic because it might not be safe for their workers. I had to apologize that my pests weren't more conveniently located and then promptly cancelled my service. When i told Gallant this story they laughed out loud and said they had never heard that one before. The only other thing that irritated me when dealing with them is they are notorious channel switchers. You contact them via email and they don't respond via email- they call you on the phone. It's just annoying. Meet people where they are. Other than that, they are decent. Not the worst, not the best. read more

One of the worst type of agreements. Quarterly payments for 1 year which typically means 4 payments. What they mean is pay for the first service and add 4 more payments. First service: we were informed it takes additional service for the pests to reduce - they were worse. Second service one month after and had to call twice - still pests. Tried to cancel due to ineffective service to be informed "you have to pay us whether or not you're are satisfied with the service." The resolution of we will come out anytime needed is not effective solution unless you are posting people in the yard to step on the bugs. NEVER ALLOW THIS BUSINESS IN YOUR LIFE! read more

The Moxie sales "reps" are the worst: disrespectful, rude and have no professionalism at all. Sales reps pound on your door. Walk away and then return to pound on your door again - 3 times in one day. Then claim "I don't know my own strength while Smirking. Personally I think they are on drugs and/or trying to get you upset so they can video you and post your response on TikTok or YouTube or whatever social media they are using, Say things like "aw, c'mon, you've got money". They have no respect at all for their prospective customer. I used to sell door to door and I was never disrespectful - our training managers taught us to respect the customer and then you will get repeat business - these guys don't even deserve first time business. One of my neighbors said he was looking in her windows and trying to coax her 9-year old son to open the front door! Our neighborhood had to call our security patrol who asked for his ID and company name - he, the rep, refused to answer. One of our other neighbors finally escorted the punk out of our neighborhood and another neighbor called the Sheriff who arrived while the punk had just driven away - he had Utah license plates driving a white car. The salesman came to my door and talked me into the service and said it would be a risk free trial I paid $99 and he said if I was dissatisfied in anyway we could cancel our contract With no penalties, they came out and sprayed the next day and I was totally dissatisfied all the spiders were still there thriving. Well it's been a week later now and I tried to call to cancel our contract and they said there would be a penalty and I would have to pay the remainder of the contract like another hundred dollars or something not a big deal but not with the man told me and the deal I was sold on I feel like this company is a big scam please do not trust them I certainly will never do it again. read more

She said her company can do it , they are rats and mice. But today morning two guys come to my house and I showed them the holes and soils, they said they can not do it, because they are gophers, it's another kind of service. To be frank what I care about is the gophers but they provide the useless rats and mice and other insects service that I don't need at all. They told me I have signed the agreement for one year. I feel a company should have integrity. This company or at least the salesman that came to my house at 7:30 at night... not so much. I always try to be polite, but the first thing out of the guys mouth is he just sprayed a house down the street. My experience with this company has been absolutely terrible. First of all, they were coming to the house to treat fire ants and brown cockroaches. Months later and there was ZERO reduction in either. I even called to have them come out an extra time and it did nothing. All they do is use a duster on a pole and rub it around your house. Never saw them even reapply any insecticide to the duster any time they came to my house. The time they sprayed in the house, all they did was spray around the perimeter of the rooms. After a couple months with no results from Moxy I decided to do a youtube search and found out that they were doing NOTHING that you would actually do for cockroaches. You are supposed to treat around openings in the walls, under the sink, gaps etc especially around water sources like bathrooms and the kitchen. You treat behind electrical outlets and behind the refrigerator because they like electricity. I bought Cy-Kick and sprayed these areas myself and the effect was immediate. A couple more treatments and I haven't seen anything in the house. This company does a cookie cutter approach and knows nothing about how to treat specific issues IMO. I think the dust is really cheap and fast so they do that every time. I texted to the number they gave me, but rarely responded and the only time they did was when I was confirming an appointment. All of my complaints were ignored. After all of this utter incompetence, they just sent me a bill for $330. Stay away. read more

They refused to lower the amount or help us in any way. If I could give negative stars I would. We signed a 2 year contract with Moxie, unknowingly, after the sales rep lied to our face and said we could cancel if we were at all dissatisfied. I have been nothing BUT dissatisfied. I was doing a 100% better job controlling ants with liquid I buy at Home Depot. I now have at minimum 2,000 ants in my house where they weren't previously. I have been charged over $600 -- twice for services which were allegedly "free warranty services". There are still black widows and spider webs around the entire exterior of my home - to which I was told they could send someone who would do a better job. I will also add I have never spoken to such an unprofessional customer service department in my life. I have not one single good thing to say about our experience with Moxie. read more

We used Moxie Pest Control for a year until mid-2015. The kid that signed me up (door-to-door) was super cool and explained the service in detail. I even got a discount at signup. I made it clear that the biggest problems we had were spiders and spider sacks near the handles of our trash cans and wasp nests under the back patio and I needed both prioritized. We provided the information on how to access the backyard, but after 11 months neither problem had been resolved and they were not willing to let us cancel a month before our agreed term. So basically they sprayed our tiny front yard for nearly a year without providing the service we had asked for. At 11 months into our 12-month agreement and having to argue over the phone, the finally sent their "best guy" to take a look. At that point I had already hosed both multiple times and added it to my already busy schedule. Maybe it's just the La Mirada guy, I don't know. Edited on 1/31/17, as Moxie called, authentically apologized, and promised to take corrective action for future clients. They were also kind enough to refund us for the last month of service, which is all we wanted to begin with. read more

The techs are always kind, polite, and provide you a heads up when they arrive and if it's ok to start spraying. Not very personable service. Usually got a text message two days, sometimes the day before they scheduled service for you. It's your responsibility to call them if the date/time doesn't work for you. I'm also not a big fan of monthly billing for quarterly service. May possibly be looking elsewhere for new service. read more
