This is a great place, so many different options to choose from. The service was wonderful, the ladies kept filling up my ice tea and water every time it was half way filled. This morning I was in Mo'z to grab coffee and a bagel and I witnessed something horrible that will make me never come back here again and I hope once you read this you won't either. A presumably homeless woman came in to ask for hot water and the owner refused, she asked again (maybe several times) and finally the owner came out from behind the counter and SHOVED her, shattering a glass case on the floor, and kept shoving her until he had her outside where she fell backwards on the street and may have hit her head. The owner came back in the cafe and the rudely ordered another employee to clean up the broken glass. The owner 100% assaulted this woman. I will not be coming back to this place. read more

Mo'z was my usual morning treat place before heading to a long day at work, but an incident today with the shop owner has made me decide that I cannot continue to support this business. This morning I was standing in line and a homeless woman, who was at least seventy five, came in and asked the owner for a a glass of warm water. When the owner refused and told her to leave she did not want to. The owner then proceeded to cuss the women and and use profane language directed at her. this escalated to the owner lurching forward at her, breaking glass dishes and physically pushing her towards the door. The woman tried to stabilize her self by grabbing my arm (which hurt) but the owner dragged her to the door and literally threw her to the ground. The woman laid on the ground crying outside. My worry was immediately that the woman, being a senior could have easily broken or fractured bones in that fall. The owner came back in and started yelling at the one other employee to take pictures of the glass and then clean it up. The owner half haphazardly apologized to me, but did not ask if I was okay since I had been in the middle of everything. Long story short, my morning routine today ending up being a soy chai, a bagel, a and a police report. :( read more

For a basic breakfast, my first impression tells me this place ain't bad. As continues to be a dining service trend, at Mo'z you're going to choose something from the big chalkboard menus, order at the counter and wait for your plated delivery. I went with the corned beef hash with eggs and béarnaise, definitely a greasy winner for my achingly parched appetite (I ditched dinner the previous evening and paid the price). You can get it on with a slightly sleepy Wifi signal, just ask for the password, and for the most part the ambiance offers a spot for the laptop lapdog; there's a shelf along one wall that offers a decent haven to get wired for a while, but I didn't notice any electrical outlets. I came because there was a line wrapping around the door for Josie's and I needed quick sustenance. I'm glad I did, and I'm glad the app found it for me. Good bites and decent iced coffee. This cute Cafe is near the Westfield mall on Powell, tucked away near an alley. I used to come here for lunch when I didn't pack anything for work. They have a good variety of food choices, from breakfast, to salads, to sandwiches, and soups. I've had their salad but my favorite is the salmon sandwich. The prices are pretty decent, for being near the infamous shopping mall in the city. If you're just looking for a quick bite during your shopping, this spot is decent and well worth a try. read more

It's a cute space and doesn't have ridiculous hours of operation, but the food we got was subpar. I got a BLT that promised avocado. Alas, there was no avocado! How am I supposed to represent my whiteness if I don't have my avocado? The rest of the meal was just...there. And we paid way too much. Also, the orders took forever to get to us. I mean, it doesn't take long to make sandwiches and coffee, does it? They weren't swamped, nor were they understaffed. At least some of the of workers were nice. So that's something...I guess. The place is cute and the menu is wonderful, but the service fluctuates between utterly confused and down-right rude. And, this is an order-your-food-at-the-counter place. I always thought I spoke pretty clearly, but I had to repeat myself several times just to order a latte and some oatmeal..... not exactly a confusing order. Okay, okay..... It was a fat-free, sugar-free vanilla latte.... but they have it right on the chalkboard, so they should be somewhat familiar with it. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the "coffee girl" (with those skills she can hardly be called a "barista") steaming WHOLE milk for my latte. I walked over and pointed out her error and she rudely told me that was what the cashier told her to make. Ummmmm....no..... I was standing right there. She then told me to sit down (!!!!!) and it would be brought to me. I obliged, but then out of the corner of my eye saw her using vanilla syrup WITH sugar. Up I bounce again to let her know. She then told me it was sugar-free. Ummmmm....... no...... Read the bottle. She then said that's what the guy told her to make. REALLY??? Again I was told to sit down(!!!!!). She didn't care if we were there or not, because we told her that we were ready. However, she didn't care AT ALL. This is very rude that she doesn't want to take order from the customer. Our total came up with $22 with just two orders, when they are both around 9 dollars. From then, everything is self-service, except the food. You need to get your own water, syrup, or other drinks. When we got our food, I was happy that I will try SF brunch. However, I was really disgusted and disappointed by their food. I love crepes, which I tried the most famous crepes around SF, like Genki crepes, Sophie's Crepe, and Whispers in SJ. However, I guess they don't know how to make crepes!!!!! **** You don't make the crepes that crispy that I can't even chew. **** You don't put the smashed banana with some kind of syrup(??) inside the crepes, put some fresh bananas. **** You don't spread dry Nutella chocolates, so it tastes like dry food. **** You don't give me all the way melted ice cream, you just want me to drink them??? **** You don't give me uncooked hash potatoes!!! I work nearby and we decided to try this place for lunch. The first time I got the Salmon sandwich which was horrible. It was undercooked and smelled really fishy. It was not fresh and made the whole office smell. I ended up throwing it away. We waited a few months and decided to try it again. I had the turkey burger and it was not good at all. Today I tried the BLT. It was suppose to come with bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, cucumber, and mayo. They hardly put any tomatoes, and it was the ends of the tomato. No avocado! No cucumber! And they added CHEESE?! I didn't ask for cheese in it. My coworkers didn't like their food either. We aren't coming here anymore. read more

Just went here at random as I was out walking my dog and looking for a cafe other than Starbucks. (Yes, I'm a snob and hate Starbucks.) I try to be respectful and always leave my dog outside. I tied her up at the closest pole and walked in to what appeared to be a delicious menu. Immediately the gentleman at the counter said I could bring my dog in and tie her to the railing at the entrance so she isn't left outside. Also, I didn't see a white mocha on the menu but he was more than happy to make one for me. The latte is perfect and the service was amazing. The gentleman at the counter even got the door for me as my hands were full between coffee, a bagel (which although isn't hard to mess up was still yummy after my walk) and my dog. They even have a sign explaining they are short staffed and ask people to be patient. There needs to be more places like this everywhere. Plan on going back to try more of the food during my stay here. Hope this place sticks around for a long time. Very happy I stumbled across it. Check it out and enjoy. read more

First of all, I work on top of Mo'z, so I am a frequent patron. Food: depends what you get. Try the turkey burger (comes with a side of fruit salad), french toast, and their pumpkin cream cheese muffins. I hear the omelettes are okay, and you can't go wrong with bacon and eggs. Skip the granola+yogurt (unsweetened yogurt and soggy, stale granola is no bueno), pancakes (not fluffy), and the chicken salad sandwich (meh flavor). I'm not a coffee drinker, so I have nothing to contribute about that. They also provide self serve cold water, which is great. The menu surprises me, and although I haven't tasted the soup yet, I'm already lusting after the guy's salad next to me. Those are fresh-cooked, not crunchy canned noodles on top of that chicken salad! I review the menu while I wait. It's abundant with food and drink choices, including beer and wine and a decent tea selection I open my laptop. Wifi's intact. People use this place for lunch as well as laptop work, so you can hangout and relax, whatever your café agenda. It smells good in here, and I even find the wobbly table easy to shim. I'm happy until I have my soup. Disappointing. Canned. I put a ton of salt and pepper in the soup, which is unusual for me. And I'm still too uninspired to actually eat the whole bowl of minestrone or get any real writing done. Since it's in my 'hood, I'll probably be back but not for food. Mo'z is one of those cafes that's trying to please everybody by having an impressive menu, but they'd do better hiring a cook and letting that professional create a more delectable menu. I guess a few customers ahead of us sat down and got fresh with the cashier/order taker. I was very happy with my recent breakfast here! Not a long wait which was nice. They have a great big menu with so many breakfast and lunch options. I didn't know there was so many ways to have a bagel. Fresh squeeze oranges juice so good. I had the croissant sandwich it was everything I could of hoped for!! There are very few good food options downtown and this place is a great one. I stumbled upon it and the owner could not have been nicer! There are some good choices, including a very delicious crab burger! The green side salad was also great. I think the only suggestion I have is to be careful in choosing your bread... the foccacia could have been better on my salmon sandwich, but all in all, a great surprise in quality for the downtown area. read more

My pancakes were dull, my almond milk was lumpy in my lousy coffee o.O, , my sausages were burnt & when my waitress placed them on the table I said, these are very burnt, she turned & left...! My husband brought them to the counter & told them we are not accustomed to paying for burnt food. His eggs were good enough he said , but his hash browns were cold. He ordered a breakfast that said it came with a cup of fruit, we had to ask for it, & were told he doesn't get it after the cashier said it did when we asked, thank goodness it also said so on the chalk board...! needless to say we will not be back read more
