Went here for lunch with the girls without reading up on the place. Liked the atmosphere of the place and the menu layout. Couldn't decide between a burger or the chicken pesto sandwich. In the end, the sandwich won out. First of all, the ciabatta appeared to have been toasted for way too long. I like a little crispiness, but this was like eating a sandwich with two croutons. I used to love this place, and eat here at least 3 times a week. Today I visited after a year and was thoroughly disappointed. Paid $60 for eggs Benedict, 2 OJ's, coffee, etc. but the problem was not the price as this cafe is in the heart of financial district. The problem was the chef's fruitless effort to make the eggs Benedict twice: the first round it was simply hard boiled egg with hollandaise sauce; second time (after the waiter tried to explain that they don't have hot enough water!) the egg yolks were effectively raw, with hollandaise sauce on top. At least I know not to ever go back again. Making eggs Benedict isn't that hard! read more

When traveling, we like to eat local / independent. Our first morning in town, we hit Mo'z. It was low-key and unassuming, which is up our alley. The food was good (breakfast). The service was a bit off. That said, out of our week in SF, we ate at Mo'z three times for breakfast. The service the other two days was outstanding. Yes, it's a little pricey for b'fast, but A. it's SF, so........it's not that bad. B. It was as good at the Grove, which was a good 1/3 more expensive. Came here for breakfast one morning and it was just OK. It was a bit of a wait for our food, but they warn you about that at the door that they may be short staffed. So I've never had an acai bowl. I was walking by and saw that they had it in the window so I decided to come in. The advertisement said that it contained 500 times MORE ANTIOXIDANTS than blueberries. I'm sold. One bowl please!!!! Well if it's your first time to try an acai bowl, be warned that your teeth and mouth will turn blue/purple. To me, it's just like a thick smoothie with fruits and coconut shavings on top with granola. The coconut shavings are the kind I can buy front eh baking section from the grocery store. I was disappointed that it was very preserved. I would have liked something more fresh for the price I paid. The bowl is huge (prob equivalent to a 20oz cup) and a good portion to share between 2 people if U wanted to sample. I would not try it again for $12. If u want to try this acai bowl, be sure to bring toothbrush and toothpaste!!! You won't want to look like u just gone down on a blueberry for the rest of the day. read more

Visiting San Francisco for the day, so I decided to look on yelp and see if there was a good breakfast place near by. This one was very close to the BART station which was nice. There are so many options for food it was hard to decide. I ended up getting the breakfast burrito and a double mocha. The burrito was huge! It was stuffed full of goodies. Eggs, cheese, jalapenos, little onions. The tortilla was somewhat marinated in a red sauce. So good. The black beans on the side were amazing too. The food and mocha were very hot. The mocha tasted very nice as well. The atmosphere was buzzing, very busy. But there was still open tables. The service was very quick. You order at the front, have a seat and they bring it to you. The only thing was how hot it was. Granted I was sitting by the kitchen. So keep that in mind when you choose where to sit. read more
