This was a nice spot in Williamsburg that i walked into. The food was okay, they have a happy hour that is pretty good. I tried the crispy chicken wings with soy garlic sauce, a mint mojito, and a scallion pancake. The wings were okay. They were crispy but the sauce didn't do it for me. I've had better soy garlic sauce. Also, you can't take the happy hour food to go. It must be eaten in the establishment which is okay. The ambiance was cool. It was a cool mixture of hip hop, pop and R&B. They have a couple tables where you can dine in. The service was just okay. The lady at the counter was busy doing other things each time we approached the counter. So it wasn't the best service. I asked a question about one of the food items and decided against it by the way she described it. It was almost as if we were disturbing her. I hate that feeling. All in all, this place was just okay. I don't think I'll return tho. I'm sure there's better bao buns down Bedford. See pics below read more

Great prices, delicious homey flavor, and excellent happy hour! Our group of six met up here for some pre-concert dinner and they were kind enough to seat us despite the group not having all arrived yet. I shared the fried rice which had great flavor and reasonable portion to price, especially in this area. The green beans are especially deliciously, flavored with five spice. They had happy hour of $3 beers and discounted cocktails which were great for a Friday evening. All in all I'll definitely come back if I'm in the pinch for food or drinks, and I'll definitely order to go next time I work in the area! read more

Very yummy food at reasonable prices, and open late! We came after a concert at around 1am and were graciously served, and super quickly too! Got the Taiwanese pork sausage, beef ramen stir fry, spicy wontons, fried mantou buns, duck wrap, and veggie dumplings. The veggie dumplings are vegan (no egg), and i believe the mantou is too if you don't dip in the condensed milk that comes on the side. The ramen was very much enjoyed, and the duck wrap was made with a flaky fried jian bing, not like a "wrap" you would expect from an American restaurant. The sausage was a generous portion and the dumplings came with 8 if I remember correctly, which is not terrible for $10 in Williamsburg. I order from Mr. Bao probably at least once a week. I work in film/tv and rarely have time to cook food (and just don't wanna at the end of a 14 hour day lol), so here's where Mr. Bao shines. They're open late, are super quick, well-priced, and the food quality is consistently good. I usually order: soup dumplings with crab meat, sauteed string beans, duck roll or bao, phoenix buns, fried mantou with condensed milk and it lasts me for at least two dinners. I should also mention that I rarely eat veggies and that their string beans is one of the rare times I do. One negative is how much they charge for the sticky rice in lotus leaf ($8 for ONE piece!) and also how few pieces the 48 hours braised galbi beef comes with (3!). We came on a Saturday afternoon and they were able to seat us right away. We ordered the blue crab and pork soup dumplings, black truffle and pork soup dumplings, chefs choice dumplings, and the phoenix buns. Oh my - to start, the Phoenix buns were *chef's kiss* phenomenal! If you have a sweet tooth, or if you don't, definitely get it. It's not too sweet but it is a nice surprise among eating a bunch of dumplings and soup dumplings filled with meat and seafood. Also recommend the blue crab and pork soup dumplings. In general, beware, the soup dumplings are so fresh that when you bite into them, the soup can burn your tongue like lava - but didn't stop me from chowing down. The chefs choice was a nice variety for someone who's indecisive (like me). The black truffle and pork soup dumplings were okayyy, I most likely won't be getting that again. Also, I just wanted to note, the service was great! We kept sitting and talking long after we finished our meal and they kept replenishing our water, which was really nice. Instead of hurrying us out. They weren't busy, but I really appreciated how attentive and polite they were even though we were overstaying our welcome. And their restroom is clean! Just okay overall. Would say 2.5 but definitely not a 3. I ordered steamed pork soup dumplings, har gow, wonton soup, bok choy w/garlic (asked for it to be sautéed instead of steamed), and the Beijin street noodles. Now, I ordered for delivery and I think the food would have been a tiny bit better if it was hot (specifically the soup dumplings and the noodles) but I don't think it would have made that much of an improvement. All items had varying temps, some warmer than others. The har gow was very good, and I really enjoyed the wonton soup. The soup dumplings had the appropriate texture but the broth inside had no flavor, and they only tasted better because of the dipping sauces I mixed. The bok choy was swimming in some flavorless broth, you would have thought I ordered bok choy soup. The texture was not great because of it and outside from the pieces of dried garlic it gave nothing flavor-wise. I don't understand the point of being allowed to choose whether they are prepared sautéed or steamed for them to be delivered in a bunch of liquid. The the noodle dish didn't have enough sauce. Noodles were stuck together and the meat was pretty dry and flavorless. read more

This place had the BEST soup dumplings we have ever had. The staff was very nice and they got our order together pretty quickly to-go. We got those delicious soup dumplings and some shrimp fried rice. Both were good (especially the soup dumplings - did I mention that?), and their soy sauce was also uniquely tasty. It had a stronger vinegar taste, which we loved. We don't typically pour soy sauce into our rice, but we dumped it all over. Great spot, great food.. we look forward to coming back. read more

Absolutely wonderful in every way. The restaurant is small, but is very pretty, with good decor and lighting. Music choice is good, with a perfect volume so that you don't have to talk too loud to hold a conversation with table mates. The server was very nice, and food came out quickly. The food itself was extremely good, especially considering not only the portions but the price. I'm so glad I tried this place again. It's not somewhere I would dine in at, but the food is amazing. I can't get over how good the braised beef was. It was succulent and the flavor was perfect. The smashed cucumbers were also sooo good. I wanted more! I liked the option for Korean style multigrain rice. The duck roll is also awesome. It's super flavorful. I came back just for that. The chicken wings are very crisp fried Korean fried chicken style. My friend raved about the dumplings - he had pork and chive and chicken and cabbage. To me they seem standard. He couldn't tell which was which but was very happy and ate every drop. I do wish the dine in experience was better. It's definitely more of a takeout place. Oh and the customer service was great! I accidentally placed my online order to the Park Slope location, and when I called to cancel they transferred the order for me. They made it nice and easy for me, which I really appreciated. My husband and I were in the neighborhood and because of the smell, we went in there to get some food. There were 2 employees at the reception, they were very dismissive. When we informed them we have to leave in an hour, one of them immediately said "no, no, no", and the other said that won't work because the food will take at least half an hour to be ready. Mind you, there were only 2 customers waiting and the kitchen was not very busy. They instantly made us became aware we were the only black customers in the restaurant. It was demeaning. That was the first time I felt discriminated at a food service in my life. I don't know what the food tastes like and probably never will, but the welcome was horrendous. read more
