After a day of exploring nearby Oshkosh and the Mile of Music, we found ourselves hungry. My husband was in the mood for a sandwich, and I was up for anything I did have to cook on my own. Seeing that Mr. Brews was open until 11pm (other spots close at 9 on a Friday night - what the heck!) we drove on over. Location is a little hidden but well-lit and ample parking! We were greeted with a fairly empty restaurant, except for a few folks at the bar and a few couples at both high and low top tables. We made our way to a table near the window and was quickly greeted by a friendly young woman. She promptly brought out waters, gave us time to search the menu and placed our orders within 7 minutes! I opted for an NA beer, which was served with an ice-cold beer glass - which paired nicely the order of cheese curds we started with! I chose the Kentucky Bourbon Burger Bowl - which All beef burger, shredded cheese, grilled onions, bacon, and crispy onions, served on a bed of greens topped with our Signature Kentucky bourbon mayo - YUMMMMMM! Everything tasted SO good, fresh and my portion size was massive. My husband chose the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich which he found to be underwhelming. The chicken was SO paper thin and almost nothing to it - which was surprising - so he was a little disappointed in the ratio. However, flavor was on point. A nice new hangout with a big beers on tap menu. Decent service, lots of TVs, and a wide enough food menu to appeal to people. It's a bit (a lot!) hard to find, as one address sent us to Pick N Save up the street. I had to call them and still couldn't find them. They don't have a sign on the street yet. read more

The kids decided to take mom and I to Mr. Brew's Taphouse in Darboy. It's only about a mile from our home. It's a newer pub/restaurant in the area and we were interested to try it out. First impressions...a very nice place with more than adequate indoor and outdoor seating. The waitstaff (Max waited on us) was friendly and personable. The menu has a nice variety of appetizers, sandwiches, salads, house specialties and pizza, not to mention the vast assortment of beers. We ordered an appetizer as we were waiting for more family to join us. We ordered food after they came. While waiting for our food, we noticed that there were a couple of tables near us that had been seated after we had arrived and already had their food. We mentioned it to Max, who let us know that our food should be coming shortly. We ended up waiting over an hour from the time we ordered our food. Being it was my birthday, I was not in much of a hurry, but again, seeing the other tables served first made me want to say something here. The meals came and were plated nicely. Everyone commented on how good their meal was. I had the fish tacos with their homestyle chips...very tasty! Others had burgers, a burger bowl and my wife had the wings. Our granddaughter had Mac 'n Cheese...her all-time favorite! Perhaps our order may have been misplaced, or...a bad night in the kitchen. It can happen. We let Max know about our long wait. I think he knew also that we were not pleased with the wait. But, we told him that this place is worth another try as the food and waitstaff service were great! I did do a little research with the reviews and others noted similar issues. I'm not going to call this one visit a bust yet. We'll be back Max! Hopefully without the long wait. read more

This taphouse has a great location and an impressive list of tap beers. We have been there a few times and found the place is never busy. They are lacking a good happy hour during the week and food specials. It's also frustrating that the bartenders and servers round up and expect large tips on every order. read more

Usually OK spot for a burger when a seasoned server is working, clean bathrooms, new building. Can't say so much about the service this Monday night. The Bingo was horrible and loud, the 5 employees needed to be waived down for everything as they were too busy to do their jobs for the 6 customers that were there, but not to busy to run to their Bingo cards and fill them out. To top it off the "bartender" won the final Bingo gift card...not sure if that is even legal but certainly tacky and distasteful. We wont be back. read more

Accommodated our group of 20 (12 adults, 8 kids) on 20 minute notice. We were met with a table ready and a staff that was eager to help with the needs of our group. Ordered food via website with a pickup time approximately 20 minutes later which is no issue at all. Arrived after my pickup time to allow additional time and my order was, "lost." The "manager" also stated that I must have cancelled it or that it didn't go through which then I proceeded to show the confirmation and that it charged my card accordingly. She acted like she could care less because she saw it and couldn't find it anymore in the system, no apology. She then asked me if I still wanted it. My reply was yes as I was already charged for it and didn't have another dinner option at this point. However, after the manager couldn't come up with a solution, there was one employee that took the lead and came to get what my order was and got it to the kitchen. Unsure if we will ever be back due to the situation. I'm not the type of person to make a scene and/or ask for a discount, however, one should have been offered, or something while I sat and waited 45 additional minutes. If you haven't checked out Mr Brews where the old Darboy Club was YOU NEED TO GO!! Almost 50 beers on tap, gorgeous DOG FRIENDLY patio complete with dog dishes and view overlooking a pond and trees instead of a parking lot, complete with heat lamps when it starts to get cold. The Mac and cheese burger was amazing and the pretzel and beer cheese dip was about the best I've had in forever! I had the Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Cream Ale and it was like dessert. SO YUMMY!! Only 46 more to try! But they change the list up daily so there's always something new. No I'm no sponsored I'm just so excited to FINALLY have something like this on this side of town! We've been to the "Old Mr. Brews" tap house Many times and have never been disappointed. This new grand opening in Darboy was a BUST! Terrible service! We waited nearly an hour and fifty minutes for a burger ... And when we finally got our food it was cold and missing condiments! It was sad to see the manager going from table to table handing out coupons with a prepared speech on short staff and no help in the kitchen. WE won't be back!! There's too many great places in the valley to put up with something like this ... Sorry-not-sorry. Not even worthy of 1 star out of 5! read more

We had a great visit today. Excellent service by Max. Great beers, fish tacos, wings and tots. There have been many bad reviews but today was great. First time trying the new location in Appleton, the food was not great! Their burgers could have not been more dry and have no flavor at all. Their menu says that all burgers are cooked medium-well to well done and they weren't lying about that! I asked the server if we could our burgers cooked less and she basically explained they "precook the patties" to say the least might be the worst burger I have had which is disappointing. We always tried the fried pickles that were so over cooked as well. The serves was fine, no issues with the server and didn't wait long for the food but makes sense when we all ordered burgers that are precooked. The patio was nice and dog friendly, not sure if we will be returning just because the food was so bad. read more

In their former location, they had the ambiance as a draw to make up for average bar food. In their new location, it's just another average bar food restaurant- no draw to get me to go here over other similar choices. I also echo that our service experience was similar to others- very slow- and seems like it is a kitchen issue, not an issue with servers. Very unlikely to go back. read more

Just tried it. I went to the Appleton location before they closed and I had really high expectations coming to the Darboy location, and might I say this is one of the best tap houses I've ever had the opportunity to visit! The atmosphere was divine and the tap selection has a great variety! The employee's were very friendly and catered to my needs. A great gem to visit if you enjoy all things beer! read more
