Visiting town from Kansas City and decided to check out Mr. B's because of a GRiZ song we love called "The Travels of Mr. B." What a coincidence our server was a GRiZ fan too and besides her great taste in music she was excellent at her job. We ordered the appetizer combo which was good but we also had the dry rub ribeye and let me tell you, one of the best steaks I've had in a while. The place was clean and had a great atmosphere. We have been coming there frequently, but the last couple times we got there, after we sat down one person came and took our order another person came and gave us our salad, And then another person came and brought us our food and half of it was wrong, and we've had to send back our food two or three times because They can't get it right I'm not happy and I'm not sure if we will keep coming back if they don't improve their service. And last Sunday we got there way before 830 and they turned us away and said that they close the kitchen because it was slow, and I don't think that's right if you're going to stay open to a certain time then they shouldn't be shutting down early. read more

What a huge disappointment, again. Used to be a favorite but I doubt I will be back after tonight. Ordered Mac and Cheese with broccoli for my grandson, his favorite foods, but even he wasn't touching it. The Mac and cheese was out of a box and not the good stuff but the cheap kind with the powered cheese and the broccoli was cold and still rock hard. I couldn't even cut it with my dinner knife. I ordered the fajita salad with double steak. The steak was cold and there is no way it was a double serving, there was not even 6 ounces of steak on there, although i was charged for it. I also expected the onions and peppers to be grilled as they would be in fajitas and as they had been in the past, but they were not. My last few experiences have shown that if it's not a burger or pizza you want dont bother. You also better have a lot of time to wait as well. We arrived early and were sat promptly and even though there was not much of a crowd we waited more than 30 minutes for cold, under cooked food. read more

Mr B's is consistently good. Both service and food are excellent! We have been local customers for years and have never been disappointed.

Mr Bs now has a great beer list. A full menu of the available beers with descriptions, ibu's, alcohol and more. All restaurants should provide this detail and I commend mr bs for doing so. It makes for a much better experience in selecting a beer. read more

Better than expected. The reviews gave me a little pause, but we were hungry and practically next door, so we gave it a shot. The restaurant is enormous, cavernlike. A little drafty and dark inside, but clean. Lots of TVs with sports & fishing, muted. We enjoyed the circa 1988 soundtrack. The menu's pretty typical bbq/burger joint but had a few surprises, like sweet potato fries. The beer selection was good, and had a few I haven't tried. We split a cheese and gravy mock poutine appetizer which was probably the single unhealthiest thing I've ever eaten but delicious. My husband tried their western style burger and I ordered the char-grilled meatloaf. The burger was huge, patty melt style, and very good. The meatloaf was very good and the veggies were cooked nicely. Dinner for two plus a shared appetizer (that could honestly feed six) & several beers put us out less than forty dollars. It's a bit cheaper than other places in the area. Burgers are $7 instead of $10 or 11, but you get chips instead of fries. Everyone though their food was okay, nothing spectacular. Waitress was a little absent-minded and we had to have her re-do the bills because nothing matched up. Lots of games and crap for kids to play, quite a few TV's. We only went here because all the places we wanted to go to in Clarkston had 1-2 hour waits. They put chopped celery in the nachos topping. Who the heck does that. read more

The absolute worst service I have ever received. To start, we had called in to tell them we would have a party coming in and to have tables ready. We get there, and they have two tables set up on either side of the restaurant... how does that make any sense? We told them we'd like to sit together as a family to which we got an attitude from the waitstaff. After our table was moved drinks and food took at least 30 minutes each.. I had ordered a simple ceasar salad and it came Drenched in dressing. I don't want to be overly negative but between that and the apps we ordered (I won't even speak on that) I had lost my appetite. I was honestly just happy to go home and be done with the place. The next morning I found out that our waitress had stolen my moms birthday flowers that I brought her to the restaurant. I've tried this place before and just don't like it. Met a friend there last night for a quick dinner. To start with the interior is very worn and dirty looking. Hostess was no where to be found. Finally seated in a booth. Waitress was slow to arrive (place was not busy) took drink order. Drinks took forever. Ordered cauliflower appetizer, it arrived hot and was tasty. I decided to order one of the specials. BBQ short rib Mac and cheese. MISTAKE. Tasteless slop. The cheese sauce was a watery gray mess. The waitress never returned to check on us. Never was offered a drink refill. She did stroll over and drop off bill. Still never inquiring on our satisfaction. Brought us carry out containers (we didn't ask for one) to take home our uneaten food. Seriously I wouldn't feed it to a pet. Awful just awful. read more

I dined here with friends while visiting from out of state. I was underwhelmed by my Southwest chicken and avocado wrap. It had very few pieces of avocado, and the chipotle pepper ranch did not have a kick to it. It was very bland. The service was not extremely fast or attentive either. I have been here twice. First time was during the week and it was probably at 10-15% capacity. I have the etouffee on special. It was very good, not the most filling for me. Would recommend having after a decent sized appetizer. It was about $13 for the entrée. Service was prompt and the waitress was even witty and humorous, which I like. Made me tip a bit higher since she was able to make me grin. My GF had the Fajitas which she said were pretty good. Beers were priced as expected, little higher than average for a Guinness. Oh well. Second time I went with my GF it was a Friday evening about 9pm. Probably at 50-60% capacity. We were seated in the main area immediately. It took about 15 minutes to be noticed and have our drinks taken. Server didn't apologize for the time it took, which is not her fault, but seems that there most likely was no notice given to her that she had us. There was probably a half dozen other times that a couple other servers walked by us when we were waiting for service. I like to give about 10 minutes for servers to greet us before walking out, but this time we were hungry and didn't want to leave so we extended and as we were getting up to leave the server showed up. I had a Cajun burger which was fair, the girl friend had fajitas again, which were noted as being fair this time. Place was a little dark for the ambiance. Horrible. I ordered a Rueben Sandwich - what could they mess up with that?!! First of all, it wasn't grilled and wasn't even hot - barely warm. The bread wasn't fresh, might've been toasted. It had a very strange smell which totally turned me off! Ugh. We don't go here much and this visit confirmed in my mind why we stay away! Been coming here for almost 20 years. First off, the season fries are LEGENDARY. Best ever, period. They go great with ranch or BBQ sauce. Steaks are great. The chicken basket is classic. I must say I don't eat burgers often but the Wisconsin Campfire Burger is my all time fave. I have never had a bad meal here. Ever. Staff is friendly. There are games for the kids and adults alike. I'm not a sport bar guy at all but that's what's on the screens. Someone selected 5 AC/DC Bon Scott classics for their playlist and we ended up air guitaring while shooting pool. Prices are very low for the area so it's usually packed. Go early or later to avoid the crowds. read more

Very disappointed in hygiene of bar tenders. Both had long hair (including the young man behind the bar), both had had down and keep touching hair. Something must of been said to the young lady because she then proceeded to put her hair up using the mirror behind the bar. read more

I couldn't decide between three and four stars. Definitely settled on four. We went with a very large group, and the waitress still dished out phenomenal service. Prices were pretty good...very reasonable. The side salad was enjoyable, and the ranch was great. The cole slaw was even good (and I am EXTREMELY picky on my cole slaw). Heading back from a long venture to Grand Blanc MI, the Bar Burger Quest Crew decided to make a jaunt off the highway and stop at the first bar we came across. That bar was Mr B's Roadhouse in Clarkston, MI. Instantly we were both excited because we thought we were going to see a young Patrick Swayze sitting at the door... unfortunately he was off this particular night. The building was larger than the average bars we go into. It consisted of a 40 foot long bar, a dance floor, a stage, and a sitting area to enjoy your burger with friends and family. It had a country setting with an open floor plan which gave you the opportunity to see across the entire bar. At first we were skeptical as we walked into this bar because the very first thing we seen on the television was CNN. Now we have been into numerous bars and I can honestly say the last time I saw CNN on a TV in a bar was when Clinton was in office. The food on the other hand turned out to be excellent. The burgers we ordered where the Cajun Sensation and the Wisconsin Campfire Burger. Cajun Sensation Burger consisted of rubbed Cajun spices, jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, shredded lettuce and creole mayo. Burger - 3.5 Price - 4 Service - 3 Overall - 4 Wisconsin Campfire burger was char grilled with BBQ sauce, bacon, aged cheddar, lettuce, and red onion. Burger - 3.5 Price - 4 Service - 2.5 Overall - 3 Both of these burgers where gone before you could say Fox News and the special ingredients that kicked them off where the creole sauce on one and the delicious thick bacon on the other. This bar had 14 beers on tap including the monthly special of a great wheat beer called 312 for only $3.00. You can hardly beat that price a gas station. It wasn't very busy while we were there, but judging by the pictures it looks like a great place to frequent on the weekend. The only thing that could have made this place better would be fewer opinions and more smiles! read more

B's is close to home so I frequent here often. The waitstaff is super friendly and very prompt. I have never had bad service. It's always very clean and the atmosphere is comfortable. They have great prices on beer and the best burgers in town! It's also one of my favorite places to get pizza. read more

Not sure why people eat here. I've been here three times- forced, as this is where we were told to meet for various occasions. For some reason most of the staff can be very snippy and sassy for literally no reason. The woman I dealt with today was incredibly rude and rushed me off the phone even though I am a regular and she knows me by name. Don't know if I would even recommend at this point its getting absurd. read more

Overcooked salmon, goat cheese appetizer wasn't even edible. Very disappointing. Owner refused to credit a $6 appetizer that my girl couldn't eat on a 40.00 meal.. This place is solid. The food is good, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. There are a lot of choices in this area, but this B's never disappoints. It's by far the best of the Mr. B's locations I've been to. They used to serve regular out-of-bag potato chips, but recently started frying them up fresh. Nice move. The burgers are served HOT, thank you. Overall, the menu has a nice cross section of offerings and my choices to date have been well executed. This place doesn't try to be more than it is, but nails what it tries to do. It can get a little loud later at night when the band fires up, but the younger crowd that comes in for it doesn't seem to mind. I really like this place. read more
