My old favorite is still one of the best pizzas in nation! Clean location with excellent service and top shelf food!

This is a pizza shop where you either have it delivered or come by and pickup. The employees are a bit gruff and I found the piece a bit steep but the dough/crust is good. I ordered the large pan vegetarian sampler and it was 20$. It was convenient and I like the pizza. I've ordered from them before on their app and it was nearly 30$ getting a half and half order. To me the cost is too steep for what you get. It's a pizza after all. Bread and cheap toppings shouldn't cost that much and it's not like you're paying for ambiance. I keep going back on occasion because it's convenient. Now I'll wait for a coupon. read more

I have been eating pizza from Mr Gatti's for over 50 years. I was raised on it. The Sample was the pizza of all pizza. Over time to most recently it has just fallen off and out of the pizza race. I believe it has been relying on the old reliable like me to keep the doors open. News Flash Mr Gatti's you're losing the reliable with every pizza you send out and we are not being replaced with new fans. If you're not kidding yourself then your sales are already telling you that. I've gotten to the point where I don't order from you unless you're giving 50% off. Tonight was one of those nights. I ordered a pepperoni with double mushrooms and onions. I'm pretty sure there was less of the two than the normal portion sizes. It took one hour and twenty minutes to get to the house. We live straight up Menchaca from your store. When we got our pizza they were so cold you would think they came from your store on Riverside. I could have gotten the exact same pizza for the exact same price from Dominoes in half the time and hot. From now forward even 50% off will get me to spend my money on your pizza again. read more

Looking over these reviews makes me sad about Gattis! I never do delivery, per the same issue of it taking so long...so carry out works just fine! Just go for a drive and pick up your pizza! They are almost always slammed, so maybe there is an understaffing issue? Regardless, we always enjoy our pizza! It's always hot, and ready to go! The reason for taking off a star is due to the establishment not being the very cleanest/ presentation not appealing to eat at. We always carry out though, so it's usually quick to grab and go...but if you sit in there, your eyes start to wander. GREAT PIZZA, just order carry out and pick it up y'all! read more

After ordering pizza here for over 5 years now, I need to update my review. What used to be mediocre pizza with apathetic service has now been on the upward swing for a while now. Long enough and consistent enough to give them 4 stars for delicious thin crust pizza and service. The last 2 times I have ordered the Sampler on thin crust has been perfect. No skimping on ingredients and the crust was perfectly crisp. And if you pick up, it's usually ready in about 15 minutes! Delivery is pretty quick too. If your thing is high end, gourmet pizzas with unusual toppings, don't bother. But if you want old school, traditional pizza, you should try this. It does not disappoint! This is the worst experience ever. Our pizza wasn't here by 2 and 1/2 hours. We called I get it it's Friday but when I'm told 1:15 minutes a little late is ok. But at 2:30 hours they said our pizza had never been put in the oven. I asked to talk to the manager to find out where it was I was hung up on 4 times. When my husband called the quickly delivered it in less then 10 minutes through door dash. Really! ---they told us we will get a refund. We wil find out tomorrow. As a native Austinite Mr. Gattis has been a staple. Lately though, the customer service has been horrible. My main issues have been with the William cannon location but tonight after finding out that that location is temporarily closed I called the manchaca location. I was happy that I didn't have to deal with William cannon! I was hoping the service would be better, but alas it was not. I called to order and asked the order taker if they were delivering for my area since William Cannon is closed. I got a loooong audible sigh, followed with a bland " yes, we are" and another looong sigh followed. I mean seriously? Why work there if you are so miserable? This is the same type of service I've come to expect at William cannon. But another location? Is there any training at all to be somewhat respectful to a customer? Haven't ordered here for over a year. Ordered Gluten Free pizza 2 times the past month. It came burnt, even the spinach was burnt. The boneless chicken wings were like bricks. Dirty. Not a clean place. Came in to pick up an order and there was multiple dead bugs on the window seals and even a smashed one on the window. I attempted to let someone know and he seemed to not really care. Not only that but I was called out by an employee for the way I was standing. He apparently doesn't like customers that stand with their arms crossed. I had been in the store for less than 2 min before this employee made me feel VERY uncomfortable for no reason as I was only standing with my arms crossed to have as little presence as possible and provide the other customers with as much space as possible due to the social distancing orders that are in place. How is it that you cannot get an order correctly when you place the order through the website or app. Even the receipt that was delivered with the incomplete order had the items that were not included on it. I wrote a review for this Gatti's somewhere else, many months ago, maybe a year ago. Here I am reviewing them poorly, once again. They just can't get it right, sadly. A few nights ago my husband called to place an order for pick-up, 45 minutes before they closed. They told him that they were "closed for pick-ups". He said, "Okay, then delivery is fine." They said, "It will be about an hour and a half." On a Tuesday night? And why couldn't he pick it up then, if they were still going to make the pizza? And since when do they ever close for picking up? About two weeks before that, the same thing happened. So this last time he said, "Why is it that every time I call you people, you tell me some crazy delivery time and then tell me I can't pick up?" And the guy said, "Well we're just short on drivers sir," very rudely. My husband said, "Once again, that doesn't explain why I can't come in and pick up my own pizza." And they said nothing. Clearly just not wanting to do their jobs. There's an older man there, who has been there for a very very long time. I dread walking in there to order when I see him at the counter. He's always incredibly rude, even when I'm smiling, friendly and know exactly what I want. He clearly hates his job, and it makes me hate going there. One time last winter, after the second time in a row they'd forgotten our ranch, I drove up there (after paying a delivery fee). They had already locked the doors, with ten minutes still before closing time. I knocked and the guy (the rude one I always see) yelled from the kitchen that they were closed. I yelled back, "I just want the ranch I paid for." He grabbed one and shoved it out the door at me. About a month ago I called to place an order for pick up in the middle of the day. They failed to tell me when I called that the parking lot was being re-paved. When I turned into the lot, I had to drive around to the back of the strip of businesses. There was no one else around, and I was very uncomfortable. Not to mention, I had a sleeping three year old in the car. I called and asked if there was a back door, and I was told no, that I'd have to park back there and then walk around the building. Once I did that and got inside and paid for my pizza with my child, no one offered to help me get my pizza, ranch and 2 liter back out to my car while carrying my daughter. They are always forgetting our ranch and drinks, are very rude, and honestly I don't trust these people as far as I can throw them (since they clearly hate their jobs) to be clean, etc. Every time we go back there, we question why we did it. I recently called to talk to a higher-up and was transferred back to the store manager. You can't even get a hold of someone who needs to know what's going on there (who isn't there doing the stuff!). I'm incredibly disappointed and dissatisfied. We will not be going here again (and go ahead and question our sanity for having gone so many times already - we certainly are), and I do not recommend it to anyone. If you're in the Slaughter/Manchaca area, know that Papa Johns, Austin's Pizza, and Tony's all deliver to you, and their pizza (now that we've branched out and tried these places) are actually better quality and better tasting, and you can find better deals, too, with PJ's. read more

You know, we have been ordering from this Gatti's for a long time, and have always remarked on how good it is for delivery pizza - reliable, nicely cooked and also made the way we ordered it, but lately they have really gone down hill. A couple of orders ago our pizza was just inedible. I love thin crust but mine was so thin it was basically a cracker, and burned to boot. Do they not look at a burned pizza and think, you know? Maybe we shouldn't deliver that. We had another on the order that had the wrong toppings, delivery was late and pizzas were stone cold. We gave them one last chance last night. Pizzas on time, but cold ... mine was OK-ish, my husband's was ridiculous. The sauce was a good 4" in from the side (see photo) along half, so he couldn't eat 1/2 of the pizza. One star? Because there is nothing less. Ordered at 11:07 with a 45 minute delivery. An hour and a half later, I called and talked to the most unprofessional "manager" who called me a liar several times, and hung up on me. The pizza arrived COLD. The most unprofessional experience I have ever had. Instead of trying to make this right, he told me I ordered way after I did ( I told him I had the time on the email) and I told him I was quoted 45 minutes ( I have the email) and he said no you were quoted an hour and a half. This was 1st time ordering with Gatti's and delivery was 20 min earlier than projected time. Pan Pepperoni pizza was delicious, not greasy like most. Pizza rolls better with sauce. Chicken nuggets were good. Apple Dessert was amazingly good. Everything was hot. Had a a very courteous delivery guy. Was very appreciative for the tip.
