Best donuts in Pasadena in my opinion. I remember growing up, my mother use to take me here whenever we would rent a video. Every Sunday, it didn't matter that we had to drive across town, we'd get donuts here for church. Everything is so freshly baked all the time! I've never had old donuts here. And their donut selections are classic! Not too fancy. I'm always eating donuts from here atleast 3 times a week but that's cause I burn them off like nothing. My idol Tiffany Ter lives in this Donut Shop. She makes the best donuts and gives huge discounts if you give her a banana. Not even joking. Just walk inside the donut shop and you'll see a dozen bananas near the bottom. She really loves her bananas. Not only that, she's a very kind person! I once offered to let her keep the change but she said "No it's okay!". Even though I asked her how the Donuts were, and she said "good.", I already knew that they were going to be delicious before asking. This is the best Doughnut shop ... in the world. Yes, in the world. This little shop (with the nicest owners) puts all of the large doughnut chains to absolute shame... Their doughnuts are phenomenally good and they look so amazing (works of art) they are almost too good to eat. If you want to treat yourself (which is what I do) then go for the Apple Fritter... Filled with chunks of sweetened and spiced apples, enrobed in a light sugar glaze, and it is satisfyingly crunchy (whilst being decadently moist in the center). I dream about their Apple Fritter and it is probably one of the only things I look forward to... matter of fact, I am going there right now. Enough said. read more

Colorful and bright, hot and still, oversized and abundant. I was impressed with the quality of my dense and delicious buttermilk bar served just a few minutes before closing. The donuts are big and cheap and good and the weary shopkeeper manages to keep a smile even though you can tell she probably arrived before dawn. I have a special place in my heart when it comes to donuts, that and a love-hate relationship with them. To me, donuts are riddled with nostalgia, and in a way, seems like an innocent treat - how can such cute, circular, delightfully sweet and bready little cakes be bad for me? Oh yea, those carby monsters are balls of deep-fried dough. Oh donuts, why! I had forgotten about this love affair for donuts until my trip to Mr Goods Donuts Shop. For one, I'm a sucker for mom-n-pop shops, which drew me into Mr Goods to begin with. Two, I like to get my hands on baked goods when they are FRESH, and these puppies are pumped out every sunrise at the shop! Three, as always with donuts, the price is right, and Mr Goods has gotten that base covered! ORDERED: - GLAZED DONUT - GLAZED DONUT HOLES My orders are not very exciting, I'm a minimalist when it comes to donuts. Glazed donuts and donuts are the basic canvases of the donut world, but it's all i really need in my breakfast pastry. All I really want in my donut is that initially sugar-crisp outside and that super soft almost doughy inside. Heaven! I came in to save myself from the rain, and grabbed a couple of donut holes. It's only $1.50 for a dozen! Prices are great, and despite being 5pm, the donuts were still good too. The store looks definitely outdated in design, but there's something comforting about it haha. The tables and the floor were all clean! I would come back to try other donuts. :) read more

The donuts are good, but a tad pricey. The Asian woman who is usually there on weekend mornings does not talk to you. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not Asian, but she'll give you a grunt if you are lucky. One time she had a phone conversation while taking my order in the store and exchanging money with me. These are not gourmet, hipster donuts. Nope.. These are the traditional, unreconstructed variety, untainted by fads and fashions. And BOY are they good. Just insanely addictive. While staying at a hotel just down the street, I went for the morning walk and spied Mr. Goods as I strolled. It was early, but never too early for a simple donut. I was greeted so nicely and the chocolate cake donut was very fresh. I guess the early bird gets the freshest donuts. Anyway I sat and enjoyed my donut and a drink. As people came in from all walks of life and each and every one was greeted so pleasantly. The man behind the counter, the owner I think, was as friendly as it gets. Mix that with fresh donuts and you have a good small donut shop, ready for everyone, especially in the early AM. Not a fancy place, but everyone seemed to be on the way to work, needing that quick donut that Mr. Good supplies. read more

Mr. Goods is the best donut shop in LA county! The donuts are no frills, fluffy, airy and just the right balance of sweetness. Fluffier than most! My favorites are the glaze, old fashioned, and apple fritter. The price is fair, and they accept pre orders. I have catered donuts for my office and they have 20 dz ready on time. These donuts will surprise you!!! There are way better than Winchells or Dunkin donuts, they are big and fresh - especially the regular glaze. I used to bring these donuts to school morning meetings. Mr. Goods Donuts is the local mom and pop shop serving fresh donuts daily. Back in the day when I used to work late nights in the area, I would pass by after 3am and see the lights on inside the shop with someone churning out donuts for the morning commuters. The owners are very nice and would hook me up with extra donut holes. I recommend the donut holes, jelly donuts, and bear claws. They put enough glaze on the donuts without being too sweet so your teeth don't fall out. read more

Don't go here. Like another review said, the woman who works here is incredibly rude. "Lovely Asian couple" they are not. Expect cold, nasty service. In addition the place is DIRTY and has a very limited selection. Like 5 different types tops. 3 of which being different variations of glazed donuts (twists, the regular round and donut holes) I initially wasn't going to go in because it looked so dirty but a friend recommended the place and it is convenient to me, so I went a handful of times giving them a chance. The first time the lady owner was terse, but it was hot outside and hot in there (I don't think they have air conditioning) so I gave them a pass. However, I didn't get anything because there were a ton of flies and nats inside and even behind the glass where the donuts were, and it just didn't look sanitary. There is not a backing to their glass case, and the woman was making zero effort to keep the flies away from the donuts. The last time I went was on a rainy day and only because it was very close and I was in a pinch. The lady working there mumbled the total and it seemed off. I asked her how much each item was and she rolled her eyes, put her hand on her hip as she jutted it out, and rudely answered me like I was an idiot. Against my better judgment I paid her, but as I was walking out I knew I should've just left the donuts and went on to Plan B. I won't be back and I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. Winchell's is a little further away in Pasadena, but they have a nice selection and more importantly, know how to treat you when you walk in the door. read more

I'm really surprised to see that this place has been rated so high. I've been here twice in the past month. Both times I've come in between 9-10am. Nearly a month ago at around 9 am they had no glaze, no maple bar, no twists basically nothing. How is it even possible to own a "donut shop" without having the basics at 9am? Today, I stopped by again. I was pleasantly surprised to see they had several glazed twists and one chocolate donut. Both donuts were beyond stale. I could literally snap the donut in half.
