I wanted to try a new boba place in the area and heard that mr green was pretty good so we decided to try it out. I ordered the Uji matcha latte and pandan mochi waffle through DoorDash for delivery. When it got here, it turns out that they were out of pandan mochi waffles and decided to just give me the ube ones. It wasn't a big deal since I like ube as well. The matcha latte tasted like a little matcha but there was an overwhelming taste of milk in it (even though I ordered non dairy creamer). I don't know if they actually used milk or not but I wasn't gonna take any chances so I popped a lactase for good measure. I also got the matcha 50% sweet but it came out really sweet, even after all the ice had melted. The ube mochi waffle on the other hand was a big disappointment. Each waffle was very dense and greasy. The texture was good, but the center of the waffle was undercooked and still batter, so I couldn't eat all of it until I got home and toasted it. You can't really taste the ube either. Definitely wouldn't recommend getting this. Maybe today was a bad day but overall very disappointed in this Mr. Green Bubble. read more

They open at 11:00 am, ordered at 11:15 am, Milk Tea w/Boba. They told me it would take 15 mins for the boba to be ready, decided to wait as I didn't want to have to travel elsewhere. As I was waiting another customer came in and was their to pick-up their online order, he was told that the online system wasn't working. Luckily they still honored his order by having the customer show them the confirmation on their phone. Rough start for this place this morning. I noticed when the boba maker was making my drink that he only used a little bit of the kirkland oat milk as it was the end of the container, I would say maybe 1-2 oz. I usually see my boba made with a lot more oat milk. Finally got my drink at about 11:40 am! The tea had good flavor and the boba was freshly made, but the drink tasted a bit watered down. I loooooove bubble tea (boba) so any chance I get, I try out any place in whatever city I'm in. I prefer fruity teas over milk tea. I ordered ahead of time so I waited less than 5 minutes before everything was ready. I got the Super Fruity Royal Tea with lychee popping boba. It has fresh fruits inside making it taste sooo refreshing. I also adjusted the ice level for less ice. I also got the Mango Peach Slush with lychee popping boba which also was delicious, not too sweet but I liked it that way. I then got my daughters the Strawberry lemonade with 75% sweetness and less ice, it was perfect for them, they loved it. I also ordered the Mochi Green Waffle which I have to say is the best I've ever had. It has a side of condensed milk that made it taste even more amazing! It came with 2 pieces for around $5. 4 stars for the drinks. The tea was okay but slightly on the diluted side for my taste. The cups were really nice and thick so that you could re-use them. It had a snap on lid and different types of holes on top for the different straws. Heads up for the avocado shake lovers like myself, they used powder, not real avocados. We also had to wait around 10-15 minutes which felt like forever. The service was below average, which takes away a star. The girl at the register would not give any input on the tea even when asked for a personal suggestion and looked like she couldn't care less. My friend who never gets boba was asking basic and valid questions, and the register girl looked so annoyed with a blank, emotionless face. So, don't expect friendly customer service. It was pretty empty for a Saturday with a few people in front of us, but the spot is pretty hidden behind a pho restaurant. They did allow sitting in and there are around 3-4 small tables. There is plenty of parking because its located in a plaza and you have to walk in an alleyway-like hallway to get to the shop. My first time at the San Mateo MGB location was shortly after they switched over from Super Cue back in May 2021. I placed an online order and was shocked when I got there. The place was SUPER crowded, there was no social distancing, and the line was long even for pickup. Yikes. They have the standard MGB menu here, and I'd say the drinks are generally pretty good. I always get the honeydew milk tea with 50/50 sweetness/ice--so good! I also love their popcorn chicken. They have a pretty good snack selection overall. One con: They close EARLY. I frequented this spot when it was Super Cue because I loved that they were one of few boba places in the mid-Peninsula that closed late. I'm sad that's no longer the case. Pro tip: The entrance is a little difficult to find as the storefront doesn't face the parking lot. It's in the nook of the plaza past the pho & Mexican restaurants. read more

The drinks were really good, but I customized them to my liking... I like the self serve kiosk, however your workers should still greet customers and be polite. The two workers that were there between 3:00pm - 3:30pm on 08/03/2022 were very rude and need to be trained again because they were eating and drinking between making food and drinks without washing their hands or going to the back. And lastly please remember to not scoff at a customer for ordering something that is enjoyable for them! It's not great, but it's not bad either. Today, I ordered the Popcorn Chicken, which costed just over $6. The order was pretty tasty and the portions were generous. Unlike other places, basil was also included. The order was complete just under 10 minutes. Don't expect any sort of exceptional service or anyone to greet you upon entering the store. Ordering is done through a self-serve Kiosk. You'll probably have zero interaction with the staff aside from receiving your order. Will be back to get bento boxes and beverages to go. read more

Honestly pretty disappointed with the milk tea here. The best part of our drinks were the high quality cups. I ordered honeydew milk tea and roasted oolong milk tea, neither with toppings, and the total was 8.75... too pricy for what you get. The flavor of the honeydew was very subtle and the drink itself just seemed watery. The roasted milk tea had a little more flavor, but also seemed more watered down than I am used to. They use these super sturdy cups with snap on lids which are nice, but honestly I'd rather get the old school plastic sealed tops that are water tight. Overall, they are serving pretty watered down drinks for premium prices.. likely will not return. read more

On two separate occasions I got an Oreo bubble waffle and the fried tofu snack.The waffle didn't have any chocolate or cookie flavoring to it, just tasted plain. The tofu was also bland with barely any spice, I had to take it home and add soy sauce. Slushes are pretty good. I've tried the passion fruit (taste just like quickly) and the peach mango slush. Both very good. The popcorn chicken is tasty and plentiful. The first time I ordered here it took about 10 mins for my order and I was the only one in the store. I think this may be because they're getting used to it since they just opened. Tip to Mr. Green Bubble: package cold drinks (especially slushes) in a separate bag from the hot food for Door Dash. My slush is more melted than it should be..And include a boba straw when the order has boba...currently eating with a spoon and not the best experience. Went to Mr. Green Bubble on a Sunday afternoon and ordered a Hot Rose Black Tea. This is my first time ordering hot drink at a boba place. Very delicious, super hot, took a minute before drinking it! They also have fried finger food options, I will be back to try those. The location is super prime as it's also close to a ton of resturaunts. So if you're not in a mood to snack, there are meals around. Or after having a meal and you're like me who like boba for dessert lol. I like how the seating area has chargers on the bottom so I could charge my ipad while doing some work. The inside is super cold, glad I wore a jacket, and happy they had hot tea. I decided to give them a try. I got a decaf herbal milk tea with 25% sugar and no ice. The pandan coconut mochi waffle was tempting me since I don't see that too often at drink places so I went for it. The drink was average cuz it was a bit bland and not too flavorful. The mochi waffle however was a hit! Great mochi chewy texture band great pandan flavor along with coconut shavings. The included condensed milk was the topper. Too bad the waffle size seemed like half size of what you get from other places and the price was not cheap. The wait was also longer than expected but that might be due to time to make my waffle. So I give the waffle high makes for taste and quality but the price was bit high for the potion size and the drink I got was just so so tasting. I asked her how sweet the super fruity was without adjustment and she just stared at me like I was an idiot and said it's 100% sweet. There are two self order kiosks so you don't have to talk to people if you're anxious like me, and get nervous when they ask you questions about how you want everything in your order.
