Honestly, their fruit tea is the best thing to order from their menu. If you read any of my other boba / bubble tea reviews (or follow me on Instagram to see all the time I get boba LOL), you know I'm a big mango green tea or strawberry green tea person. My boyfriend normally gets their citrus teas, so we get to try an array of drinks. I honestly would normally give this place 3/5 stars based on the first time I came, but ... tbh when I lived in Fremont they were always fast and cheap on door dash so it definitely became my most visited boba spot in NorCal. If I checked in every time I went, I'm pretty sure you'd all notice my bubble tea addiction real quick LOL. The service is quick and everyone is really nice. I always get the usual, chocolate milk tea. I stopped getting boba from here for a while because it was always watered down or too sweet. Today's chocolate milk tea was good though. It was still pretty sweet but I was able to taste more tea and chocolate than before. Their boba also got better, it's more chewy now which I like! I've always passed Mr. Green Bubble and never thought to go inside to see what they are all about. So this past Friday I decided to try them out for lunch since I was working from home. Once I entered it took a while for the staff to acknowledge me but once they did they were friendly and answered questions I had about their food and drink menus. What I liked is that you could create your own smoothie by adding 2 flavors they have listed. I ordered a lychee and guava combination smoothie with a popcorn chicken meal combo which comes with rice and an egg roll. The order took about 20 minutes to make and they bagged everything up. However, they neglective to provide me with a boba straw for my drink or even tell me where I could get one in the shop. They assured me that everything was in the bag and when I got home had to cut open the top and carefully consume it that way. That's not a fun way to enjoy your smoothie. Had a bad day at work? Why not treat yourself to two boba drinks after? That's exactly what I did and it was seamless, from order to pick up! It's really simple: 1) go to the website 2) click on menu 3) select which store to pick up from 4) add items 5) check out 6) pick up 7) enjoy When you pick up your drinks, you still have to enter the store but it's blocked off in a way where you don't have contact with anyone. I guess my only concern is the space and I didn't read the signs to see if it indicated that only one person should enter at a time (oops! Hopefully they can clarify this?). As for the drinks, I ordered the POG and Honey Bush (with Almond milk- love that you can customize milk!) with boba. I've come here a few times and I really like it. The decor is nice inside and there's lots of space and seating. The drinks here are pretty good from their milk teas to their smoothies. The other day I ordered a passion fruit smoothie which was yummy but it was a bit too sweet. I've also tried their pandan mochi waffle, it's really good! Props to Mr. Green Bubble for carrying a wide selection of caffeine free teas, including peppermint, honeybush, green rooibos bonita and citron, decaf Earl Grey, and chamomile! While being down for the count with bronchitis for the better part of a month, I had to completely kick caffeine out of my palate, since it would only compound the dehydration. After my symptoms finally improved, I actually loved the way by body felt without any in my system, so I decided then and there to give it up entirely! But what about my beloved laptop camping at boba shops? Would I have to forgo that in exchange for the local public library? Well, not quite. I've been on the lookout far and wide for establishments with decent caffeine free options that aren't your garden variety sugar laden fruit juices and slushes/smoothies (which would be even worse for my health). Unfortunately, this has proven to be a much more difficult task than you might imagine. One partial solution is genmaicha (brown rice tea), which actually does have caffeine, but such a nominal amount, you might not even notice it. Also, a handful of cafés offers wintermelon (white gourd) tea, which is completely devoid of caffeine, but slightly on the sweet side. As for Mr. Green Bubble, I had been a frequent patron of their Oakland location a few years back, but rarely do I visit that part of town any longer. I heard about this Union City location opening awhile ago, but despite it being much closer to home, surprisingly, I had never dropped by until recently. After a fun Friday night gathering with some close acquaintances at nearby Bar Bay Grill, we were in search of a quieter, more relaxing spot to keep the conversation going. Strolling along the plaza, we noticed that Mr. Green Bubble was open until midnight, so we decided to give it a shot. The first thing that caught my eye was the spacious, bright layout, with plenty of comfortable seating, including barstools and a counter (perfect as a standing desk), as well as medium sized tables ideal for groups of four or more. The menu is extensive, but as mentioned, I was only here for the caffeine free offerings. The usual fruit juices and smoothies are ever present, but I was very pleased to find a wide variety of actual non-caffeinated teas. I decided to give the peppermint milk tea a whirl, with 50% sweetness, no ice, and no toppings. Wow, quite good! It is not watered down at all, and the peppermint flavor is quite noticeable. If anything, perhaps next time, I will get even less sugar, but this combination works just fine. I returned on my own a week later, and sampled the honeybush milk tea with the same settings. I asked the kind bobarista how it is beforehand, and he actually brought down the metal can from the display to let me sniff the lovely aroma for myself. This is certainly a good sign because it indicates that real tea is used, not powder. This honeybush turned out to be a wise choice as well. I look forward to giving the chamomile a try, and am fairly certain it won't disappoint. Lastly, the staff itself is friendly and accommodating. Their Five Star system is a bit confusing though. Apparently, you don't get points per drink purchased, but rather per visit? I'll have to drop by a few more times to figure out how this truly works. And believe you me, I definitely intend to add Mr. Green Bubble to the top of my newly revised boba shop rotation. Laptop camping is here to stay! read more

This place gets way too much of my business to mess my order up this frequently. I spend at least $45 here a week and usually my order is incorrect every 5 orders. Pre-covid I also was here very often. The last two days I ordered through DoorDash (how I've been ordering since covid) and specifically wrote no pearls/topping in my milk tea. I even wrote it in caps today. Still received pearls in the drink the last two days. Someone is not reviewing the order before it goes out, or it's being rushed. Either way, unacceptable considering I order the exact same thing every single time. I also always ask for the skinnier straw since I'm not ordering pearl and 9 times out of 10 don't receive it so I've stopped asking. Probably my favourite tea places in union city. I love the vibe of this place, they have games, free WiFi and great sitting arrangement. Good places for families and young generation to hang out. They have a variety of teas on there menu hot, cold and with different toppings. My favourite is Thai Milk Tea, tastes amazing and has just the right amount of sweetness. I have also tried there macaroon ice-creams and spring rolls. Overall, my goto tea place for Thai tea and macaroon ice cream. Also, loved the spring rolls and pork bowl. Uber eats dropped off yam fries and popcorn chicken. You can change spice level and that's pretty awesome. The chicken I got level 3 and tasted great. The yam fries I got level 2 and was perfect. It wasn't too hot when it arrived but still very good. Takoyaki is really good, not frozen and doesn't have a heavy after taste. The batter is almost like pancake and doesn't have that weird artificial taste. Matcha red bean smoothie taste like the red bean pop, pretty good. The lady at the counter was very rude, when we asked her questions about certain items on the menu, she kept pointing us to the screen to order. During this COVD-19 pandemic, whenever hubby and I are craving junk food, we order delivery from here! Our go-to's are the fried tofu cubes and the fried mushrooms. We like spicy level 2. Anything higher is pretty spicy (and we like our spicy foods)! Can't say anything about the service or what it's like inside, but you can't really go wrong fried tofu! This place didn't give me a good first impression. The Rose Honey Green tea is refreshing but the boba wasn't cooked properly and seemed to be "bottom of the container" type quality. Green Bubble has been me and my bf's go-to place ever since we first met in August! Since then, he's surprised me with boba from Green Bubble when he picks me up, takes me out to get boba from Green Bubble, and hangs out with me in Green Bubble almost every week. He loves Green Bubble a lot, as do I! He says it has the best popcorn chicken, and he loves how spicy he can make it. He's from Los Gatos and comes to Union City, so he gets his weekly dose of Green Bubble when he visits. We always order popcorn chicken level 3 because I beg him not to do level 5, and Rose Honey Green Tea extra sweet w/boba and lychee jelly, while he gets a Milk Tea or Passion Fruit tea w/lychee jelly. Although our food comes out slowly when it is busy, which is inevitable, our service is great and the workers are accommodating. There's also lots of seats and games to play. I would order the takoyaki, but it's quite expensive. It's super tasty, but I wish the price was a dollar cheaper. Overall, our experience at Green Bubble is always great! I decided to try a drink from their fresh brewed tea menu and got Hojicha Milk Tea. The drink tasted like your average milk tea since it wasn't as strong or creamy as I would like it to be. One of the first things you will notice is the vibrant atmosphere and the organized menu above the counter. The staff is very friendly and takes the time to ask for the details of your order. The Strawberry Lemonade and Lychee slush are good places to start if you can't decide on the many choices available. One of the coolest things i think they do is the innovative cup they use to serve their beverages. Very memorable drinking experience in itself! 3/19/19 It is sad for me to say this as I have been a loyal customer for two years. I have spent thousands of dollars at this place and frequent it religiously at least 2-3 days a week. In the last year since they started hiring a lot of new staff, the service and drinks have taken a major hit in quality. :( I have been trying to give the new workers a chance for a while to see if they'd improve, unfortunately, I've just come to realize they do not care about their customers as much as their employees did from a year ago. They no longer greet you when you walk into their business and sometimes, they are too distracted talking to each other (in a Chinese language) to even acknowledge you're standing there in line ready to order. The straw that broke the camel's back for me happened last Saturday. I came in and put in my usual order, "Combo popcorn chicken and jasmine milk tea with boba." The popcorn chicken is still better than the ones in the area, however, they have gotten extremely inconsistent with their spice levels... I used to get spice level #2 but reduced it to level #1 with a side of spice months ago because they can be so inconsistent, and the chicken at level #2 could be so unbearably hot that my stomach cannot deal with it. But popcorn chicken is not what I'm most disappointed about. The person that made my drink DID NOT clean the blender out completely so there was residue from the previous drinks that transferred into the drink they made for me right after. IT WAS ONE OF THE NASTIEST DRINKS I have EVER had in my boba drinking experience. They have really struggled recently with their drinks, especially with balancing between tea, milk, and water--it is often WAY TOO WATERED DOWN! On this occasion, it was iconically disgusting. It tasted like a wet towel with all sorts of flavor residue from improper cleaning of tools, honest to G*d. I threw the whole thing away and thus, have finally made up my mind after that event to not go back.
