But, their staff is all pretty young and they're in there basically yelling-talking and it creates such a loud atmosphere considering I was the only customer in there. They also had some music blasting, adding to the extremely loud atmosphere. My head was already hurting but by the time I left, it hurt even more lol. The staff could be more professional and they all seemed to be joking around with each other, which is fine to have fun at a job... to an extent. In conclusion, food and stuff is fine. Walked in and was impressed by the cleanliness. I almost thought nobody was at the counter when I walked in but she was behind something on her phone. But I don't blame her I'd be bored too. Let me start this review by saying that I loved Mr. Green Bubble and my family and I frequent this spot. So much so that I have their phone number saved in my contacts. My call-in order yesterday was disappointing to say the least. I ordered the following: (2) Avocado smoothies 25% sweet (2) Avocado smoothies 0% sweet (1) Strawberry banana smoothie (1) Peach Oolong Milk Tea with egg pudding 50% sweet (1) Hot Oolong milk tea 25% sweet The woman taking my order through the phone was great and she repeated my order to confirm everything was correct. The avocado smoothies that were supposed to have 25% sweetness were marked but we realized later on that the drinks had been mixed up and they marked the wrong drinks with 25% sugar. 2 people has diabetes and they almost drank the ones WITH sugar which would have been potentially dangerous. This was VERY upsetting. The iced peach oolong milk tea with egg pudding and the hot oolong milk tea also got switched up. Neither drinks had any flavor. The only drink that was correct was the strawberry banana smoothie. So it was pretty upsetting considering there were barely any customers in there when we picked up the drinks. It would have been semi understandable to have practically all of our drinks messed up if there was a line outside the door but there was no line and it looked like they had at least 3 people working the drinks section. This is my *DOORDASH* experience! I haven't actually been to the store but I DoorDash food from here quite often (millennials problems). I always get the same here from here - braised pork bowl and gyudon. Let. Me. Tell. You. I LOVE their braised pork bowl so much!! They give you a picked greens (酸菜) along with it and it reminds me just like Taiwan. Their braised pork might not be the best I've ever had but it's overall a B/B- in my opinion. The gyudon is also good, about a B as well. Gave my boyfriend a bite and he ate half so I think he likes it too? The popcorn chicken was crispy (plus) but can use more salt and pepper (minus). Customer has went down hill these last couple of years. I used to love coming here because of the fresh milk tea and how sweet the workers are. But due to the way my mom and I have been treated these last couple of visits... I won't be coming back. Today was my literal last straw lol. I have been ordering from this place through DoorDash frequently during the pandemic. The drinks are always good, the popcorn chicken bento box is good most of the time. My only complaint is their service for takeout. Last week, I ordered 3 drinks and asked for a paper bag instead of having to balance them on a cardboard tray. The lady informed me that bags are only for deliveries like DoorDash, not for takeout. I asked again, and she responded that the drinks are stable enough on the tray. I didn't mention that I was not going to drive home but walk , but she never gave me the courtesy of extending the service. I decided not to argue and walked away. Today I placed another order of 4 drinks for takeout. I was provided with a tray again, and I decided not to ask for a bag. I tried to place the drinks inside my own grocery tote bag, and while removing the drinks from the tray, 2 of the drinks fell to the ground and one immediately spilled everywhere. The other drink's seal broke, spilling some of the content. I would have been pretty angry at this incident if not for the fact that they were from a special promotion, and I paid less than $5 total. However, given that I have been a regular customer through DoorDash, I feel that the customer service could have been better. But hey, if business seems to be holding up well, might as well! Every time I come here, my liking for their drinks just decreases every time. So many milk tea places mess it up (damn T4...) but Mr. Green Bubble got everything right. I ordered a rose honey tea with lychee jelly and it's perfectly refreshing. Not overly sweet, has a good tea flavor, and isn't too bitter. The takoyaki really blew me away. There were little pieces of corn and I think red pickled ginger along with the tako that made it special! I wish I ordered two orders of it instead of one because as soon as I finished it, I was craving for more. The fried tofu with spicy level 2 came perfectly seasoned with chili powder, salt, and pepper. I just wanted them to credit it to the Piedmont location but they would have none of it and hung up on me. When Summer passed and it still hasn't opened, I thought it was no longer opening until I saw on their Facebook page that this weekend is the grand opening weekend! Even though the flavor was strong with lychee, I was still able to taste the mango and the green tea, which I love because at some boba locations, the fruit flavors overpowers the taste of the tea and this does not. (Regular price: $4.05) Egg Pudding Milk Tea (Regular price: $4.05) & Regular Milk Tea (Regular price: $3.55): If you have tried the Mr. Green Bubble location in Oakland, this tastes exactly like it. They do not skimp out on boba, which is good because they made it the perfect ratio, where you finish the boba with the last sip of your drink. They have both sizes of boba -- small and large & for them to already have the drink quality perfect for the $1 promotion is crazy good because nothing was watered down at all. It's super refreshing and 50% sweet is perfect for me. The boba is decent. My husband didn't like the uji matcha because it's not strong enough. Their popcorn chicken, fried tofu, and fried wings are the bombed! The chicken is juicy, tofu is soft inside, seasoning is just right! The only snack we didn't like were pandan mochi waffle and takoyaki. Waffle is very heavy. Not much of mochi texture. I prefer lighter waffle that still has the chewiness of the mochi. Takoyaki has corn inside!!! I was blanked when I was eating it. There shouldn't be any corn and it does not enhance the tasty. I will never get it again. The pork was good, chicken curry just okay, no cream or coconut milk, just fyi. The popcorn chicken had big pieces. Even the number 2 heat level, on the low end, was spicy to me. One of my favorite boba places! Their combos (food item+3/4 drink options) keep my order totals down especially compared to most other boba places. Other places, between drink and food, charge around 11-12$; with the combo it ends up being around 9$. I only wish there was more variety for the drinks that could be paired with the combo.
