Probably would avoid coming here if you like traditional Japanese ramen. This restaurant was interesting as it had both ramen and hotpot. Luckily we ordered both so we could try both options. The ramen was pretty much flavorless and the noodles tasted like they were from an instant noodle pack. It was just wildly underwhelming soup bases. very disappointing. The hotpot was a little bit better because they had a sauce bar so you could just drench your vegetables in a bunch of sauce and call it a day. Definitely would not come here for ramen. Hotpot if I'm really craving.

Good comfort food. Love the bok choy, egg, fish cake and tender chicken Wish the soups had arrived together at the same time.

If you're in the area looking for authentic tasting ramen, with the quirky non-confrontational feel that is trending in Japan, come down to this ramen spot. We came in on a weeknight a few hours before closing, and it was fairly empty. There were a few patrons, but we were ultimately the last ones there. On our recent visit, our order included the Takoyaki, fried Japanese squid, the tasty tonkatsu ramen, Umami-rich beef ramen in beef brother (winner IMHO), the seafood ramen, and eel ramen. The few feedback we had was that we had ordered the seafood ramen spicy, but it came in regular broth; this was quickly remedied with the spicy garlic "ramen" sauce that was available at the table. Definitely gave the broth a kick. Additionally, I ordered the eel ramen since wanted to try something different from what I usually get at ramen joints. However, I found the ramen bowl kind of bland with (chicken) broth. It was average, but there wasn't a lot of umami in the broth, and the eel (although cooked well) was just placed there. There was no flavor of the sea in the bowl, so this dish was a bit of a miss for me. I'd be game to return and try something else. Some of the reviews have mentioned that it seems bit impersonal to be ordering from a linked QR code rather than a human server (which isn't completely true), but this is something very popular in Japan. In actuality, there is always a live server there, and you are offered real menus when you sit down, so you can order whichever way you feel comfortable. It's also no different that if you had an iPad at your table, only you're using your own phone. On the flip side, once we started getting our appetizers, I found it more convenient to order from my phone, as the order tickets popped up straight at the kitchen (I watched this), and the chef went to work on our dishes right away. This was way easier than waiting to flag down someone. During our time there, the staff were cleaning up, getting ready to close shop. It was actually nice to not have to wait for them. When we wanted our check, I also did that on the mobile site, and I heard a bell sound go off at the front end desk to alert the staff.

I would rate this restaurant 4.5 if decimals were available. Food was pretty good. Tomato soup base was awesome. ordering is via qr and phone only, which is fine but it was hard to ask for water. a little salty. would ask for less salt next time. prices were reasonable for a pricey town.

My friend and I stopped in randomly and tried their tonkatsu ramen. The broth is super rich and delicious. I got the regular noodles. My friend tried their spinach noodles and they were both very good. We also got two appetizers: potato shrimp and chive and potato noodle potsticker. They were both fried to perfection. Our server was also very sweet and attentive.

    Wonton is so good

Seats are updated. looks very nice and very comfortable. Food is as good as always. tried wonton today and loved it.

We were four and mostly agreed we enjoyed the appetizers (especially the tri-color vegetable…read moredumplings and the crystal shrimp dumplings), but not so much the main courses (especially not the marinated grilled salmon and the Buddha's delight). Also, early on, we had a little service issue that was tacitly resolved in our favor. We only wanted to order appetizers at first and later order the main courses. The server told us words to the effect that they take the order for everything at the same time because if later the restaurant is packed, the kitchen gets overwhelmed, and, also, they bring out the food whenever it's ready. As requested, we gave her our order for everything, but ultimately she was able to just serve the appetizers first and then pause until we were done with them before she brought out the main courses. My wife wanted a sweet white wine with her fish, like a Mosel. The closest they said they had was a fruity white Riesling, called Selbach/Incline, which turned out to be very fruity and delicious!

We went for dinner and the loud party music absolutely did not fit the calm, natural interior decor. In fact, the music was irritating and confusing when the decor looks more zen-like. Not sure what they're going for there. Service was not very attentive either. No one ever asked how our food was or if we needed anything. Water cup was left empty often. So then am I paying for some magical taste in these dishes? Because the prices are double that of some excellent Chinese options not only in Queens, but even Long Island. Again, all the dishes were presented very well, but if I ate blindfolded I would not have noticed anything truly amazing. Lamb potstickers were good, but could use some more cumin and spice. Seafood fried rice had hot chilli peppers in it - why?? Also may want to warn customers of this since families with young kids ordering rice/noodles may be ordering for kids who don't eat spicy food (not indicated on menu). Shanghai soup dumpling were...unusual. Adding a goji berry on top is a little gimmicky, but we all hated the mushy filling. The meat falls apart inside the dumpling and perhaps that's what they're going for? I also suspect there is a lot of msg and salt being used. The duck was delicious cooked, cut perfectly and presented nicely. A warning about the cranberry sauce - if you have it during Thanksgiving, great go for it. If you don't like cranberry sauce during Thanksgiving, don't even bother with it here. Duck is not turkey (what an insult that would be to compare the two) but I'm guessing that's where the idea for cranberry sauce came from. In the end, it felt like westernised cuisine masquerading as Chinese food. (My family wanted to give Jia 2 stars - they never want to go back, but I'm feeling generous :P) My star rating legend: 5: A+ Worth a special journey (ie. I would go out of my way, maybe even take a flight somewhere just for this; exceptionally amazing) 4: A excellent, a must try, solid place 3: B good; nothing extraordinary, but would definitely go again 2: C personally would never go again (unless invited by someone and I didn't get to pick the place), but I can see how others might find something appealing 1: Fail. I would never return and recommend no on else goes either.

The restaurant has crisp white tablecloths, and the bathroom is always spotless and well maintained. It's a comfortable and inviting place to enjoy a nice dinner. Everything flowed seamlessly, and they made us feel truly valued and well taken care of. The food is consistently good, as are the drinks. Tonight, we shared a House Mule, which was refreshing, delicious, and a great way to start our meal. For dinner, I had the Crunchy Seafood Fried Rice without XO sauce and the Buddha's Claypot, a vegetable dish. Hubby had the General Tso Chicken. All three dishes were flavorful, satisfying, and well prepared. I even had some of the fried rice left over to take home for tomorrow! Once again, we left happy.
