I walked in and needed a few minutes to study the menu. pretty much any ingredient or topping you would imagine eating with mac and cheese is on there. if not, they'll make it! I couldn't decide on the cajun mac or the lobster mac and cheese so i ordered both. the cajun mac was my clear favorite. the anoudoulle(?) sausage was real tasty. the lobster mac was not all that great. it sounds great in theory but it really was nothing special. I'm not a fan a the store bought Mac & Cheese. So much so that I can't even make it for my child. I just can't stand the plastic taste of that cheese powder. Having said that I went to Mr Mac's with an open mind and I was treated to some of the best food I have had in a long time. The ratio of pasta to cheese was perfect, every bite had just enough cheese and just enough pasta. They have several different types of Mac and cheese, my wife had the Cheeseburger Mac & cheese and I had the nacho Mac & cheese. They were both perfect and the medium was more than enough for two people, so we both had plenty of leftovers. We will be going back as soon as possible. read more

I didn't particularly want to go to lunch here but was pleasantly surprised. The gal at the counter was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. She helped us select our lunch. They also had salad.. for those of us needed a lighter fare. Lunch was reasonable and prompt. I must say ... if your not having a great day go to Mr Mac's and you'll skip out if there. Squandered potential of a novel idea. Don't get me wrong, the Swiss shroom burger dish I had was delicious, but I think the biggest potential demographic for such a progressive idea is 20s and 30s health conscious hipsters, which seem to be neglected on the menu. I totally understand it's just a comfort food indulgence but for a $13.00 pasta based lunch, couldn't there be a whole grain option, or some specials besides a "large" skillet that serves 2 for $18+/-?? Keep in mind this is a semi casual dining environment, such as Panera without the warm feel. My 11-year-old Step-Daughter (who discovered the joys of Yelp when trying to find a place for lunch today while we were spending the day together) asked if she could write a review on one of the eateries she felt deserved 5 stars. She wrote this as if it were me writing it but from her perspective. I must say I would have given Mr. Mac's 5 stars as well: I didn't know how I would feel about a restaurant that was devoted to just Mac n Cheese but let me just say AMAZING!!!!!!! I went with my husband, and my 2 step-kids. I got the buffalo chicken mac, my husband got the Papa's mac, my step-son got the cheeseburger mac, and my step-daughter got the carbonara mac. Let me just say that the macs come in cute little skillets that are really hot and fresh. I loved mine, my husband loved his, and my 2 step-kids thought theirs were pretty good. Then, when we went a second time, both of the kids got different kinds and both loved theirs in addition to us loving ours. Since then we have come back a couple more times and we are happy to say that they are consistent in their service and food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you love mac & cheese, try this place out. Some complain about the price, but I will say that the quality of the ingredients is higher than any other mac & cheese I have had. Rating is for a mac & cheese place, not any other kind of dining. There are a lot of different variations to try and you can create your own. It is all freshly made while you wait. Definitely not your usual Mac n Cheese.. We were able try their Chicken Bacon Ranch and the Cheeseburger Mac n cheese and both are really flavorful, fresh and creamy just the way I like it! The winner for me though is the Chicken Bacon Ranch -- at first I don't know how a Ranch dressing would taste with the rest of the ingredients but good thing I tried it. Absolutely delicious. I had the lobster Mac and cheese and i love every bite. The lobster is fresh tasting and cheese is rich tasting. It is a very filling dish and I only had the small. My son had the cheeseburger Mac and while he is a picky and choosey eater he ate every last bite of the medium sized one. It had bacon in it too and that is always a plus for him. Eating in can be a bit much as they are very popular and limited seating area. However I would pick up take out whenever possible. read more

This is the BEST mac & cheese I've EVER had. It's pricey, but completely worth it. They use the best cheeses, offer gluten-free pasta (for an extra charge), and the portions are huge. It comes out hot and bubbling in a cast iron baking dish, and has so much flavor (and grease - since they use the highest quality Cabot cheeses)! There are about 20 different pre-made options on the menu, from classic to cajun, but the option is there to make up your own. All the ingredients are high quality and fresh. They have sizes available in small (great portion for one meal), medium (I can't eat more than half, so it's a nice option if you want leftovers, or to share), large (wow, it's big; good for a small family), and a half-tray option (super expensive, but great to feed a large family). They even offer the option to make the dish, but NOT cook it, so that you can bring it home and cook it when you're ready, which is great for funeral repasts, busy families, or parties. I've been several times and have had the Cajun (not my style; it's a little spicy... I look for creamy and cheesy in my mac & cheese), the 4-cheese Cheese, Please!, the Philly Cheese Steak (my favorite!), the Carbonarra (it was my least favorite, kinda bland surprisingly, but still good), and the Chicken Bacon Ranch (my second favorite). Once I picked up dinner there for the family, and they gave me the wrong order. I didn't notice until I was home, and when I called to say I had the wrong thing, the girl who answered said, "We've been waiting for you to call!" and handed me right over to the manager, who offered to remake the one I wanted, and when I got there to pick it up she gave me a gift card for another visit. I had a Living Social deal for $20 and selected the following: Medium Classic All-American (with cheddar and American) Medium Blazin' Buffalo Chicken (with American, cheddar, and buffalo sauce) Small Cheeseburger (wiith American, cheddar, and ground beef) Small Cajun (with Cheddar, Pepper Jack, andouille sausage, onions, and green peppers) It took about ten minutes for the staff to compile my meals, and after a quick explanation of the baking instructions--which I could probably have figured out myself, even without the printed instructions enclosed, but I appreciate the service!--I was on my way. It looked like a ton of food for four people, but we chowed down. The mac and cheese received rave reviews from all four diners. My favorite was the Cajun: I love spicy andouille, and the peppers and onions were still nicely crisp even after sitting in the fridge for a few hours and then baking in the oven for 20 minutes. We loved how the pans allowed the mac and cheese to brown on the bottom--delicious! I can't give Mr. Mac's five stars, though, because it's a bit expensive, in monetary and calorie cost, for a regular meal. We'd definitely get for a special occasion though. read more

Excellent place to go for comfort food with a twist. Lots of versions of Mac and cheese and you can also customize. Very personable employees, very helpful. Manager was great when we moved tables for our party of nine, had us move so we weren't blocking wheelchair access but was very nice about it. We had no prob moving of course but he was just over the top friendly and nice about it. I got chicken pesto and hubby got steak bomb, both excellent.
