The meatballs continue to be one of the highlights of the menu. For pasta, the Capellini alla Checca was fine but nothing particularly memorable. The Rigatoni alla Genovese con Manzo was the pleasant surprise of the night. It didn't look especially appetizing, but it ended up being rich, comforting, and full of flavor. We also ordered a few cocktails, and while I can't remember exactly what they were, they were well made and complemented the meal nicely. The atmosphere is lively without feeling overly formal, making it a great spot for either a casual dinner or date night. The main thing keeping this at four stars is the service. It's been consistently slow every time we've gone. Thankfully, we haven't had a repeat of our first visit years ago, when our food had clearly been sitting a while before it made it to the table. If they can tighten up the service, I'd have no problem bumping this up to five stars.

I did find it to be extremely salty and greasy though and I usually like salt. The pizza sauce was good and we upgraded to the mozzarella di bufala, no complaints from my husband even though it looked like mainly sauce and came out kind of sloppy. The outside is pretty, open and airy. Got a birthday dessert after asking the server, even though it was noted on the reservation. Overall, our experience was pretty average.

Yes, the shop is small, but as soon and my girlies and I walked inside, we immediately were welcomed and given the ~shpiel~ of what to expect for a typical dine-in experience. I'm pretty sure we talked to the manager yesterday--very knowledgable and made us feel less intimidated with decision paralysis. There were tons of yummy options on display (...I'm looking at you, Chorizo pizza). For yesterday's visit, I got the Contadina which has Italian sausage in it (and a bunch of other ingredients that I forgot lol) and the Rosa pizza. I'm a huge fan of vodka sauce in pasta and the Rosa surely won my heart at first bite. One of my friends ordered the Japanese pizza, which also looked delicious. Will I be back? Definitely, just probably not as much since it's bit of a drive from where I'm at. Another pizza/piece of my heart is now with the Sugo shop. :-)
