Had a weird experience. Almost made me tip them a fifty dollar tip on 44 meal. I was initially flabbergasted as I had to input on the touchscreen which was odd. That receipt was then canceled. Then the second go round I was able to input the correct amount of tip through the keypad. The workers seemed tense for whatever reason, but I'm glad they calmed down and got to doing. Went to Mr. Pickle this past weekend after running errands and wasn't sure what to expect since it's been a while. I ordered the Mr. Pickle with the Works and a Mrs. Pickle, both on Dutch crunch. The sandwiches were packed definitely not stingy on toppings. The bread was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and every bite was super flavorful. Love mr. pickles soooo much. Nothing beats their super crunchy Dutch crunch bread. Their garlic sauce is my favorite and it brings out soooo much flavor in my sandwich. I always get the Italian with extra garlic sauce and it hits every time. Mr Pickle's sandwich shop is well priced and has the absolute best salad! I'm not entirely sure what it is, but I loved the salad and will definitely be back for another one soon. As for the sandwiches and the pickles, they're not as good as the Mr Pickles sandwich shop in San Mateo/RWC. The BLT there packs in the bacon and is extra crispy. The pickles there are also better and crisp. I don't think I would reorder sandwiches from this specific location. I'm not sure if they source pickles separately, but the pickles at this location were limp with a hard and tough exterior skin. If you're looking for a good salad, this is a great option! read more

After a bad experience at another Mr. Pickle's location, I was issued a coupon by corporate for a free sandwich -- with clear instructions that it could be redeemed at any location of my choice. I decided to give Mr. Pickle's another shot by visiting their Newark, CA location. It turned out to be an even bigger mistake. When I tried to redeem the coupon, the employee immediately became rude, falsely claimed I had to go back to the original store, and treated me like I was trying to scam them. I remained polite and calm the entire time, but instead of fixing the situation, the staff doubled down and humiliated me in front of other customers. When I pulled out my phone to document their behavior, the employee's attitude got even worse -- and yes, I have the entire disgusting interaction on video. The level of unprofessionalism, lack of training, and complete disregard for customer service at Mr. Pickle's is beyond unacceptable. It's clear this isn't just a one-time issue -- it's a pattern with their brand. Mr. Pickle's has permanently lost my business, and I highly recommend everyone stay far away from this chain. They don't respect customers, they don't honor their own offers, and they clearly don't train their staff properly. Short and sweet. The store is clean and neat. Sandwiches seem to be made cleanly as well. The staff was nice and friendly, welcoming. My wife really enjoyed her Listen Linda and my Fast Eddy was pretty good too. They both came with a cookie (which our sons will definitely take) Our biggest nitpick is the price. It's essentially a sit down restaurant price to take and go. The value just isn't there for me. Oh no Mr. Pickle's. What happened? I paid $18 for a large sandwich including tip and they skimped on everything especially the meat. This was supposed to be a large. The bread was large but everything else was not. I'm so disappointed. This was my place during COVID and anytime I was able to work from home. Maybe it is the dinner crew because I would usually go for lunch. But either way, a large sandwich should be large. There were so few things between the bread that the top and bottom bread were almost touching. I thought it could be an anomaly but seeing the reviews makes me so sad. I ordered the Got beef (5/5): the Dutch crunch bread was really good. Like it's name it was quite crunchy. The balance of meat was perfect. Lots of cheese and lettuce. Stopped by at this shop because I had heard raving reviews about their great sandwiches so I finally decided to pick a couple of sandwiches up with a friend to have dinner. Let me tell you the review I heard about it did not disappoint at all! I ordered the O.G Tuna with extra mayo, yes I love mayo lol. I was hesitant at first to get the tuna because I rarely like any of the tuna out there. I'm super picky on how I make my tuna salad. Thankfully Mr. Pickle's recipe is amazing and def recommend that sandwich. The restaurant is very clean and the whole procedure was super sanitary. The service was what topped off my experience here. Upon arriving there was a couple being helped already and the person behind the counter greeted us right away and made sure we felt acknowledge. When we placed our order and asked for it to be toasted she was super friendly and accommodating we also had chosen some chips and a potato salad that we were holding and when they handed our food to us, she even offered to bag our food up for us. I'm not sure what Dutch bread is, but it had this amazing crust that was crunchy. The sandwich came with both roast beef and pastrami with Mr. Pickle's "everything" which includes mayo, mustard, garlic sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and peperoncinis. I'd used doordash to place an order for pick-up (for the purpose of saving myself a few bucks on delivery, of course lol). The process itself was so simple and I didn't run into any problems. Even the turnaround time was quick and the quality of my sandwich wasn't compromised in any way at all. This was actually my second time ever having Mr.Pickles. The first time was a few weeks back at another location in Castro Valley and I was quite impressed by the dutch crunch. The sourdough roll was tough, veggies were minimal, its assembly was lopsided, and it generally lacked the "yum" factor a good sub should elicit. For chain subs, I'd rank it above Togo's but well below Jersey Mike's. Also, the only gluten-free option is a wrap, so Jersey Mike wins that point too. read more
