I usually don't give reviews, but this one was just horrible to the point where I have to say something to warn other people. I went there with a group of friends and we sat down to grab lunch. I ordered the Bob's burger and the waiter asked me what kind of cheese I wanted for the $20 burger. (which for a burger you would think it would come standard) We get our food and it was very very mediocre with the fries being stale, and the burger patty having no flavor. The other items were very small and had very small portions for the price that they were being charged. Not once through the entire meal, did the waiter come back to refill our waters or ask how we were doing (which I can overlook, but was something of note) When we got the bill, it turns out I got charged 4 extra dollars because adding cheese upgraded your burger to the deluxe, which was not communicated ahead of the time and they added bacon which was very salty and unpleasant. The waiter was clearly trying to upsell without telling. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience and I don't recommend anyone come to this establishment, especially when the worker in question is working. Breakfast Burrito: Chorizo sausage, country potatoes, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, red onion & cilantro. Served with homemade salsa & fresh fruit. A HUGE burrito for $16 the ingredients are evenly;y distributed inside so you get a little in every bite. 2 Egg Classic Breakfast: The bacon is thick cut and the sausage is slightly smaller than at other places but I think its seasoned better. We ate at Black Bear Diner today. I had the French toast, my daughter had the mini volcano pancakes, I also had the mini volcano but the adult version, and my husband had the BLT. Overall, the food was okay. I personally didn't like the French toast, but the pancakes are always on point, no complaints there. Service was great as usual. As we were leaving, I noticed the pies. I've never tried their pies before, so I asked the cashier, Lisette, if she'd ever had Nation's Giant Hamburgers pies. She said yes and mentioned she likes their lemon meringue, but if Black Bear Diner had it, she wouldn't even go to Nation's. Surprisingly for an early Mother's Day breakfast, service wasn't too bad. I've had worst service on non major holiday from other places. There was only one host and he was doing triple duty: greeting, seating and serving. We got our drinks with partial items missing: vanilla creamer for coffee and waters. My family and I decided to go here for breakfast on Christmas Day. I'm glad that they open until 7pm. Many people came here since this diner is one of those that open during that day. Most restaurants are closed on that day. The place is nicely decorated with Christmas decorations. They give us a unique menu during the holidays. I wanted to try their Peppermint Hot Chocolate, but unfortunately they ran out. Just got coffee instead. Coffee is now $3.99 right now. I guess that inflation just hit the window right before 2025. The Joe Hobo's Omelette is very huge and got full! Very good portion of bacon and sausage inside of it and not like only a few pieces. Paid extra for the mac & cheese and they bring out this atrocious rendition of my first time attempting to make max & cheese from the kraft boxes. It was bewildering to me that as a company / chain restaurant, they thought that this slop would be acceptable to serve paying customers. Only after eating there this time did I realize I'd been here 8 years ago where I also had a bad experience, vowed not to come back, forgot all about this and had to take a refresher course because my group didn't want to go to Olive Garden. Really the only saving grace was the tiny half rack of ribs. Quite honestly I expected more from a $25 meal- and that's before tax and a mandatory 20% gratuity that my group of 5 was slapped with, without any prior notice. The service was okay. Nothing good or bad to say there (unless you count the sneaky 20% at the end) Overall, extremely mediocre restaurant, okay service and really poor execution on the food.
