We had a pipe break that caused water to fill into our crawls space. Mike from Mr. Rooter was dispatched out to help diagnose and fix the problem. From the moment Mike walked through our door we knew we were in good hands. Mike is a journeyman plumber and really knew what he was doing and talking about. He explained everything every step of the way and gave us clear options for how we wanted to handle to situation. Although Mike was unable to locate the leak, he referred us to a few companies that could do the job and ensured us he could fix it once it was located. That's not so say that he didn't try to locate it, because he sure put in a lot of effort digging up spot in our backyard that he suspected was close to the pipe break. Turns out he was about a foot or so away from finding it, but it was under our concrete patio. After having a leak detection company out, Mike returned to complete the job. Mike had already held a spot for us for the following day so it was easy to get him back out to our house. We were his first job of the day and he came ready to tackle the job. He had to cut into the concrete and tried his best to preserve the designer patio we have. Unfortunately he had to jack hammer the spot he cut out, but it was done so without damaging or removing a large portion of our patio. He found it, repaired it and had us all closed up by the end of the day. Mr. Rooter is lucky to have such a knowledgeable, kind, efficient, hardworking employee in Mike. I am a Real Estate Broker. I would never recommend Mr. Rooter Plumbing for my clients or other brokerages. Reason: I had a simple drain line blockage in a property I own, which I knew would require to pull a toilet and clear the line (which is exactly what they did). I have had this line cleaned a few times before, and it usually runs in the $200 - $340 price range (with other companies). However, it was a Sunday that my Tenants called me, so my normal company was closed. I called Mr. Rooter and they were able to arrive the same day. Once they arrived, they informed me that their charge would be $612 to pull the toilet and remove the clog. This work took about 1 hour. Because this was a 1 bath unit and for my tenants, I did not want to send them away and try to arrange another time slot for my tenants to be present to perform the work. But, charging over $600 to clear a drain line that takes only 1 hour, when others perform the same work for about 1/2 the price, is over the top. AND they would not quote me a price over the phone, even though I told them exactly what would need to be done and that they would be pulling a toilet. Had they quoted me a price before arrival, I would have shopped elsewhere. And in the future I will. I will also share this high priced story with my realtor cohorts. read more

First, I called on an 'emergency' basis; we are living in our RV while remodeling our house. The single RV toilet became badly plugged and needless to say, we were going to be highly inconvenienced without it. Jason Belcher arrived only a couple of hours after I called for assistance. This was no easy task as an RV doesn't have a 'normal' system, but tanks that store all the icky stuff until it can be pumped out weekly. Jason tried everything in his bag of tricks, to no avail. It was hot and muggy outside, and he had to also contend with working around another service tech who was also here trying to connect us to high-speed internet; they were competing to accomplish their tasks within the same small physical spaces. After over an hour of various attempts, Jason came back from his truck and said "I've got one last trick to try." About 3 minutes later, ****SUCCESS****!!!!!!! Things have been working great ever since. I have never been so happy to pay someone for their services in my life. Jason was professional, courteous, and sincerely concerned about getting our temporary tiny home back up and running. Michael Risoldi was very courteous, knowledgeable and respectful of our home. He cut and capped a leaking CPVC line to our tub faucet and then came back on a return visit to install a new faucet and compete the repair at the advice of our insurance adjuster. He was also helpful in pointing out things like a broken water meter lid (which the city came out and fixed) and how our shower fixtures aren't considered code anymore due to how old our home is. This is a tough one, because of all the places we searched, this was definitely the most expensive. That being said, the customer service was amazing. Their response time was fast and they came within a couple hours. They went above and beyond and were very up front about their costs. They did terrific work and backed it up with warranty. But, like I said, they were by far the most expensive company. Mr. Rooter put a camera through our whole septic system, even to look through the areas that weren't even a problem. It was all a blessing in disguise, because we found damage in our pipes that we would never have found. It's things like that that will make me want to work with Mr. Rooter again. I called this company because my toilet had clogged twice in a week after doing my best to stop the clogs (using various techniques) and didn't know what else to do. They were prompt with their turn around time and sent out Jason Belcher the same day I called. Kudos to them for this. Jason arrived at the beginning of the window they gave me that afternoon and was very friendly and professional the whole time. He did a few tests to see if the clog was in my toilet or down further and couldn't reproduce the issue. After some discussion and camera use, he said he can't recommend a service at this point and to call back if it continues to happen. At that point he'd do some more serious work. He left after chatting some more and didn't charge me since this was a courtesy call. There are plenty of other businesses that would have charged me just for the drive over and time spent, and he could have done this, but didn't. After working on a slow drain at our kitchen sink, wasting quite a bit of time and money on Drain Cleaners, I decided to get someone out to clean the drain for us. I found Mr. Rooter on my phone. I read few reviews and gave them a call. They were easy to work with on the phone and we had a confirmed appointment about 2 hours later. When the technician (Tim Brown) arrived, we talked about the problem, and he suggested that it would be best to power wash the drain to clear the obstruction once and for all. Tim gave us a price and we agreed to have him do the work. About 2 hours later we had a clear drain. Our experience with this company was bittersweet at best. Our home experienced a sewer backup. We are in the process of selling our house and obviously wanted to get the repair completed asap. Our regular plumber and the recommended backup plumber were unavailable for several days, so we contacted Mr. Rooter. Shocking, but they were available that afternoon. While the first 2 companies quoted $199 and $300, on arrival the men of Mr. Rooter told us it would cost $500, to clear the line. We were stuck. After 40 minutes we paid the bill. Do not be fooled!! Mr. Rooter Plumbing advertises 24 hour/emergency plumbing; but, when you call they do not have the man power to send someone out when you have the actual emergency. So, when you call them in a crises, answer their questions like "how did you hear about us" they advise the first available appointment they have is when they open on the next business day. They basically market themselves to be called for emergency situations in hope your needs can wait until the next business day. I found a REAL emergency plumber there is 20 minutes without the bait and switch. read more
