Horrible experience!! Our HOA hired Pilot to install a sump pump in our crawl space. They did not put it in the correct location, properly trench the sump pump/crawl space and improperly connected it to a sewer line. When their faulty job was called out, they entered our vacant home unknowingly to us and ripped everything out. They left a big mess (large pile of muddy dirt, a water filled basin, and plastic pieces. We had to pay out of our own pocket another contractor to do the job correctly. read more

I set up an appointment with Pilot Plumbing to get our garbage disposal replaced. When the plumber arrived he looked over the job and then he called someone for consultation, whom I'm assuming was a senior plumber. He eventually provided me with 3 numbers, ranging from $1400 to $2400, depending on how much work was required after the job started. I told them that the price seemed high. (Note: It was a warranty repair and I was only going to be reimbursed up to a few hundred dollars.) The senior plumber offered me the basic replacement price of $900, since I was a first time customer. It still seemed high to me, but he said that this was the going rate with all plumbers in the area. I told them that I needed to pursue another bid. They charged an $89 Service Fee, which they hadn't mentioned. Ultimately, I found a different plumber who seemed more knowledgeable & capable and who did the job for $170. read more

Will never use Pilot again. Total rip off. Spent over $1000 for them to unclog a toilet and it still didn't get done. They didn't have the right equipment. My hot water heater randomly gave out, water all over the garage and after watching a bunch of YouTube videos, I was prepared for the worst. When I called, the professional on the phone was exceptionally professional and helped me get scheduled quickly and easily - they were able to visit the next day, so I was thrilled. A year ago I had a quote of $300 for a small repair on outdoor faucet. As the employee hadn't written it down, they asked to look at it again. Received a $600 quote this time. I offered $359 but he wouldn't come down from $500 and couldn't get ahold of the owner. Also received two other quotes for various systems $2000-$5000. Asked them to come over for a quote. This was just to switch out a hose bib faucet b/c it was getting old and had a leak. I suspected this was a 15 min. task. I was expecting to pay $200, maybe $300. They quoted me over $700. At that point, I turned them down and called my brother in law for help. He told me what to buy at Parkrose Hardware, then he came over to help me do the job. Perhaps Pilot has changed management because they've received mostly 5* reviews in the past, but from the moment the plumber arrived the hard-sell/up-sell tactics were so blatant it was embarrassing and insulting to my intelligence. I needed an outdoor spigot replaced but he barely looked at that. I thought it odd that he immediately asked to look at the water heater and toilet, pointing out things wrong with both. Bottom line was that I really needed a whole-house filter due to the hard water in the area. Over $4000. I could say more but that's it in a nutshell. 1 star for the prompt service and 1 for the polite plumber who came out (even though he played/promoted their game). read more

They installed our water system. We have an extreme amount of iron and tannins in our well. Judah came out tested the well, explained our I Options and helped us select what met our needs and cost constraints. The next day Mick and his partner worked diligently and efficiently installing our system. I asked them when they arrived if they could tie the drains to our outdoor drainage system and they did. So no iron waste being flushed out onto the ground next to the house. They also installed an outdoor faucet which bypasses the softener system. Great job and now great water. read more

I called to get my shower unit replaced, they told me they will have to... HAVE TO come out and give a quote.... a "free" quote that is, well they came out 2 days later, awesome great, fast, and very polite men, very professional. There were 2 of them, 1 guy was looking at my shower and talking with me, other one going around house and checking out my other bathrooms, taking pictures. I was thinking this was protocol! Later on after they gave me a RIDICULOUS QUOTE!!! Oh my goodness!! AND they said they were going to cut out a bigger hole so they can work freely.... For the record, I had it replaced by another licensed plumber and he did NOT cut a big hole, AND most definitely did not charge me the asking price as pilot plumbing did!! Wow!! So back to my story... After the quote I said "oh ok I wasn't thinking it would be that much, I'll get back to you," thanked him and went on my way! A few moments went by he's knocking on my door, asking for $89 for the quote and for the "treatment". Then I asked "what treatment?" Apparently the other guy was going around my other bathrooms, putting some kind of "water treatment" to see if there was any leaks in the lines. I told him "I did not ask for this. I did not sign up for this and all I wanted was for my shower fixture to be replaced and in order to get it fixed you guys needed to come out 1st and do a quote." I looked on their website and it still shows free quote. ***DO NOT go with this company. They are not honest and upfront with you And very expensive!! read more

They came to evaluate an issue with my tankless water heater. They needed to return 2 days later to actually do the work. There was a mix up in the office about something and they did more work than I authorized. There was no fuss or pressure. They apologized and didn't charge me for the extra work. To make a mistake is normal from time to time. We all do it. It's how you fix the mistake that impresses me. I was impressed. Also, they are great at keeping you in the loop with texts with pictures of the technician who will be coming out and estimated times of arrival. read more

Giving these guys 4 stars for a couple reasons. Let's start the count with 5 stars. -1 star for contact at odd off work-hours which made me very uncomfortable. I'm still happy to have had a plumber to complete my work. -1 star for their crew breaking my car windshield and not fessing up. It's an accident, this is what business insurance is for. Disappointing. -1 star for communication. No one seems to know about billing or scheduling except one guy. I feel bad for the one guy honestly. -1 star for pricing changing due to communication breakdown between myself and the one guy who knows anything. I believe we were mutually at fault here, we came to an agreeable conclusion quickly. -1 star for permitting. I do and don't understand why not permitting a full bathroom addition was even discussed. If you're paying for a full bathroom addition by a licensed plumber, pull the permit people. + 2 star for conflict resolution. The one guy who knows what's going on is easy to talk to, and resolve discrepancies with. Text communication is odd but keeps things documented. +1 Quick response, and easy scheduling. +1 Quality work. All in all I would recommend them with a caveat, but I wouldn't use them again. If you go with them expect quick, quality work, but expect to have to manage the process from start to finish. read more

Horrible experience. Called them out for a water heater issue and was told it was a shower valve. They cut a hole in my bathroom closet wall and replaced my shower fixtures with a super ugly set that wasn't even the same brand as what I had agreed to and then when they discovered the issue wasn't fixed they sent out a few young guys who diagnosed the issue as a water heater problem, which they fixed by replacing 2 simple hoses. Now a month later the shower faucet which never needed replacing in the first place is coming away from the wall. I wish I had never called them!!! read more

Sewage at my house started backing up, air bubbles appeared in the drains and toilets. So, what would a typical homeowner do ? Hire a professional and hope for the best. Here, unfortunately I happened to make a bad decision by hiring Pilot Plumbing of Vancouver, Washington. They came, they snaked the pipes, pressure washed the systems, and : it worked, for 2 days. Called again, made appointment , waited for about 4 hours till someone finally showed up. Now I was informed that there is no warranty on the job being done thus far, and that they need to do a camera inspection before proceeding with any actual repairs. After already spending about $1200, I lost all confidence in that company ,found their workers incompetent, lacking motivation to do it right and sent them away. Eventually, I fixed the problem myself just by applying logical thinking and a common sense. Didn't need a camera. I wouldn't recommend Pilot Plumbing to my worst enemy. read more

Our toilet was seriously clogged and I contacted several plumbers. Pilot Plumbing and Drain was the only one who said they could come out the same day, even after hours. The charge for the emergency call and the charge to unclog it was well worth it to get it functioning again. Nick provided friendly excellent customer service and provided a lot of helpful advice. Unprofessional. Scheduled an appointment to get an estimate for tankless water heater.  The day before my appointment, I get a call from Carrie Holmgren (I think she is a coordinator for the company).  Carrie asked me to commit to installing a water heater before they gave me an estimate.   Her excuse was that they will be driving from Vancouver, WA to Portland.  They had this information when we scheduled this appointment.  I could not commit since I still had one more company to come in and give me an estimate.  I decided to cancel my appointment.  I made special arrangements/time off work to accommodate this company.  Will not engage this company in the future. read more

This rating is only for the estimate given by the Pilot plumbing representative/plumber that came to look at my project. I had already purchased a pair of bathroom faucet sets because it was a specific style I liked after seeing it in a recent hotel stay. My request was just to have these two replace two old bath sink faucets. Sean came to look at the two sinks: he detected a small leak from one of the turnoff valves under the sink. He then asked where the main water shutoff was located, and said the 18" handlebar tool to turn the main shutoff was not the right tool. He then gave me three estimates, all of which are outrageous and, if this is company policy, clearly a blatant attempt to scam and ripoff an elderly widow. 1. Replace ALL undersink turnoff valves in the house, even if there are no leaks or problems, as a "preventive" procedure. = 16 total. 2. Replace the main water turnoff valve, outside of the house. (Why?) 3. Install/replace the new bath sink faucets I had already purchased. Perhaps #1 and #2 are good preventive services, but there was no problem with any except for one slightly leaking, but that was fixed by simply tightening the handle. NO replacement necessary. The estimates are so completely excessive and exorbitant for what I requested, I felt compelled to write this review. To do all #1, 2, and 3 = $3,936. For #2 and 3 = $2,773; and to just replace with MY new faucets plus 4 valves for two faucets = $1,646. I think it is outrageous and at the very least, very bad business practice to GOUGE the customer for as much as they can get away with. I am an octogenarian, very recently widowed, and they wanted to fleece a customer they think is ignorant (unknowing) and vulnerable. SHAME! I DO NOT recommend this business. I subsequently had the job done efficiently, timely by a very helpful licensed local plumber, for exactly what was requested and required = $315. read more

On September 13-23, I contacted Pilot plumber for help. We have 3 urinals that were clogged and overflowing when flushed. Chris, the manager, showed up on site. He already came with 3 quotes prepared before he even started or looked at the job. I mentioned to him that they needed to run a snake from the main line, which is outside. He insisted that they needed to run the snake through each urinal unit instead. They ended up charging us $1,387.98 to snake 3 urinals. The other 2 qoute were to run a jets 2 way water pressure from Main line, the qoute for water jets $2,879.54 and to do all outside clean up and water jet estimate $3,678.78- all which are outrageous in my opinion but had to pay the urinal fee since they had "performed" tgat service. I then had a sewer company come out because the problem was not resolved. They agreed that the line needed to be snaked from the outside instead because the sewer tank was not the problem. We had Pilot come back out since the job wasn't actually completed. They then tried to charge us an emergency fee of $160 and then a service charge of $800 but dropped down to $400 for a job that they DID NOT DO CORRECTLY the first time. Do not use this company at all. They try to be friendly and nice, but their prices are OUTRAGEOUS!!! They don't give leeway when a job isn't completed. Don't say I didn't warn you. read more

I always use reviews as a last resort. We tried elevating this and taking the problem directly to the company because we didn't want to leave a negative review if they helped us fix the mistake they made. After reading the other negative reviews, I have a bad feeling that the owner will just respond and try to deny that they messed up which is what they did on the phone with us. Please, just own your mistakes and help us get our tub fixed. We were prepared to leave a 5 star review initially based on their quick response and willingness to fix our plumbing so that we would have running water during an ice storm. We started off on a great foot with them and were so grateful. We loved working with Sean and the other two guys were friendly and easy going. Even after sticker shock of the project, we were relieved to work with a professional, kind family owned company. Then, a week after they finished replacing our galvanized pipe and insulating our plumbing, we noticed that the drain they had installed in our bathtub was starting to peel away the finish. We had just spent some very precious house project money on getting a professional finish on our bathtub since it was a 50-year old tub. The plumbers installed it incorrectly and broke the seal on the finish allowing it to crack which completely ruined our brand new finished tub and will continue to crack over time. One of their plumbers even admitted in a text message that this sometimes happens during their jobs. We called to let them know and in the process found out that they also left trash in our crawl space and didn't even finish insulating all the pipes they said they would. They did come back and fix this the next day which was good customer service and we hoped they would show the same customer service in helping us repair our tub that they ruined. They are now refusing that it was there fault even though it clearly happened after installing a new bathtub drain. We would have forgiven them and left a positive review if they had owned up to it being their mistake and agreed to help us get it professionally repaired. After a $7000 plumbing bill that we will have to save up to pay off and then having them ruin our $800 bathtub was truly gut wrenching and devastating. We had an awful experience unfortunately and will never recommend this company or go to them again. read more

if I could give a zero I would! We lost hot water just before a holiday weekend. Pilot plumbing and drain fit us in which was the only nice thing they did. The tech poked around for a few minutes and got the pilot to start, charged us and walked out. Which was great but wait for it... He came back and said he'd better recheck, we went from fixed to needing a new water heater for $5,000 dollars. Told us it looked to be the original water heater. I would imagine Tech 101 is to read a label to find the manufactured year which is usually in the model number. My water heater is a 2014, made the 51st week of that year. Then his boss called trying to sell us a water filter system. I'm calling the Better Business Bureau on this scamming company! My Water heater is fixed, not by this DISHONEST company. read more
