Enjoyed the restaurant. Got the fried shrimp with a side of Cajun fries and crab salad. I really enjoyed the crab salad. It had very big chunks of crab. The shrimp was fried golden brown. The french fries were good but could've been fried a little bit longer. My husband got the make it yourself crab boil which included crab legs, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and corn. Medium heat. The boil could've been seasoned more, in my opinion, but overall very tasty. Will likely come back. read more

Presentation is good but the quality isn't. I ordered the crab boil and the corn and potatoes weren't even cooked all the way and the crab was so small. Not worth the price of $32. I feel I got ripped off. read more

This place does not practice proper sanitation!! My daughter became ill from eating fried oysters plus the following week I went back the next week and saw the workers without gloves preparing the food. In addition the person mixing the garlic butter in the back was doing so with bare hands on the garlic butter. The manager was very rude when I brought it to his attention. I did report it and yes they did have violations. Eat there at your own risk. Will not be back read more

Been driving past this location for years, intending to stop. Sorry we waited so long! Surprised at the fresh seafood displayed up front! Good variety: shrimp, Dungeness crabs, king crab, etc. The menu lets you pick protein, starch, sides etc. Quinoa, jasmine rice, sausage, beans etc. You can pick fried, boiled options. Deserts included beignets, puddings, etc! They had a "crab boil in a bag" that looks awesome; red potatoes, corn etc! We will be back! Don't hesitate to try them! read more

I had such high hopes for this place! I wanted so sadly to have a good seafood boil / crawfish spot close by. But it was such a disappointment. The seafood is not fresh. You can taste the freezer burn. Crawfish was frozen as well. The shrimp were extremely salty. I couldn't even eat them. I ordered a crab boil and 4lbs of crawfish. And I had to throw most of it out because it was too salty. I ordered it with garlic and spicy. I couldn't taste anything besides salt. $65 worth of inedible seafood. I was in town visiting my in-laws and mentioned to a friend that I had been dying for seafood. Long story short she saw them on Instagram and relayed the message. We got the shrimp & crab broil (medium) with four bushels of crab legs. This fed four people and had enough for some people to have more. I can't remember the last time I had a seafood broil THAT good. The only part that I didn't really like was how hard it was to get them on the phone. This simply made my tummy and taste buds dance for joy. The only thing that I would've changed was the corn. It was dry and had no flavor. Maybe if they used some sweet corn it would work better. Otherwise it was beyond good. read more

I've had the fried shrimp and french fries from this establishment. The shrimp were fresh and hot! I loved that the food was made to order. There was a little wait, but that could be understood. Definitely a great spot for seafood in the area. read more

Had the crawfish and conch fritters. I asked for spicy. It wasn't spicy. Flavor was okay. Crawfish were previously frozen, not good quality. Conch fritters were burnt tasting and had something hard on them each bite I took. Husband has the snapped and shrimp. His food tasted okay. Just ordered over $80 worth of food just to be highly disappointed by my order. I came a few mins before the order was ready only for it to not be hot. This spot is on the corner of a plaza I normally wouldn't go to but figured I would try it for lunch. They do not only have seafood boils. I have tried all of their bowls and ALL of them have been DELICIOUS and healthy. Packed with tons of veggies and has so much flavor. Their customer service is beyond measure... I'm not sure how they dont have a line out the door. Their decor is super cute. Perfect for lunch dates. The last time I went they offered a new bowl. Cajun asian? Not sure what its called but WOW. I found Mr. Shrimp on the Groupon app, and decided to give it a try. First of all, I'd like to point out that I have no problem with the kind of "hole-in-the-wall" place this is. I just care about the food, especially since I love shrimp. My dad and I both ordered a plate of steamed shrimp with Cajun seasoning, over a bed of rice. For our sides, we tried the coleslaw, pico de gallo, and macaroni salad. I was not a fan of the Cajun seasoning, which was pretty disappointing considering the shrimp was the star of the dish. I mean, this place is called Mr. Shrimp. The coleslaw was not good either - it was very soupy. The same goes for the pico de gallo (which was severely lacking seasoning). The rice was also bland. I didn't care for any part of my meal. Perhaps their fried menu items taste better. After all: it's easier to mess up healthier forms of food (liked steamed shrimp and coleslaw) versus unhealthier forms of food (like fried shrimp and french fries). Considering how disappointing the food was, and how un-friendly the employees were, I won't be returning to Mr. Shrimp. It was worth a shot. read more

There several warning signs here. 1) Dirty tables, dirty floor (thus, dirty restaurant) 2) They got my order wrong (fried shrimp instead of steamed) 3) Fish was over-breaded and way over-cooked. Finally, if that fish was SNAPPER, I'm Donald Trump! It was probably catfish, which was also on the menu. It was also NOT fresh and did not taste good at all. The fried shrimp were pretty good. I didn't like the "Cajun seasoning" on the steamed shrimp. The "fresh" steamed vegetables were obviously out of a bag and were boiled not steamed. I didn't eat those or the fish. read more

This was one of the most terrible food experiences we have ever had. Not only was the service terrible, the workers were fighting amongst each other and it took forever to get the food. In fact, a man who came in after us asked for his money back because he felt he was waiting too long. The quality of the food was terrible and the order got messed up. There was no offer of a refund or even a discount. What terrible experience! We would never go back here and do not recommend Mr. Shrimp in Lake Worth, FL. This is the perfect example of a place that doesn't look like much when you walk in, but immediately as you open the door your senses are exploded with amazing smells! I'm mad a social media promotion finally brought me to try this spot out. In my opinion this place is delicious! I enjoyed it better then the other places out there, I did ask for skin on shrimp but got the latter but I am not dissatisfied. Never heard or been to Mr. Shrimp until I drove past it during work hours. Went in and met the very welcoming manager Weston. Super nice staff and the food was delicious to say the least. Did not know there is one In Pembroke Pines, pompano, and lake worth! Highly recommend this place as the food is fresh and the SHRIMP is amazing. read more

This former hole in the wall has now remodeled their place and created a beautiful looking place to go along with the great food. The portions are really good for seafood. The food here is amazing! I do get annoyed at the customers because most of them are rude, and aren't patient. If I wanted something done quickly I would cook it myself. These people are working during a pandemic show some kindness. Yes, I waited an hour for my order, Yes, instead of sitting there yelling at the poor cashier when I know it's out of her control I went and ran some quick errands by the time I was done my order was ready my food was still nice and hot when I got home and again it was delicious. You want food quickly go to McDonald's or better yet I hear western beef is having a sale on lobsters and crab legs. read more

I tried Mr. Shrimp today for lunch today for the first time. I got a fried snapper dinner which came with choice of 2 sides. I got fries and hush puppies. The fried snapper was decent and hush puppies were good. Fries were mediocre, they should spice them up a bit or something. Menu is somewhat limited and definitely could use some expansion. Not a bad option if you're in the area craving fried seafood. read more

My usual place is right up the road but I'm trying to expand my options. Open air seating that overlooks the beach. The water views are amazing. The place was clean. Definitely showing wear and tear from being along the ocean but not terrible. It was hot today - high 90s - and it felt cool. The fans help a lot. You do have to pay for parking in the municipal lot if you don't have a resident decal. It's not too much though. My server was new but very knowledgeable about the menu and specials. She even caught an error with my order before I did! They have an extensive menu with something for everyone. They had a lot of specials on the board too. I decided to try the shrimp club special. It had whole grilled shrimp on sun-dried tomato ciabatta with mixed greens, tomato and bacon. The chipotle aioli was too spicy for me. It was delicious but took away from the sandwich. Obviously it's a personal preference so if you can't handle spice, ask for something else or at least get it on the side. They put a lot on. It made the bread slightly soggy by the end. The tomato was fresh. The greens were wilted from the dressing. The grilled shrimp were cooked perfectly. It was a little different to eat with them being whole but it worked. The ciabatta was very flavorful. I'm not usually a fan but it was soft and really held up to all of the sandwich fillings. The fries were nice and crunchy on the outside. They gave me regular fries instead of sweet potato fries but the server brought out a small plate of sweets for me. If you like sweet potato fries then order these! They were much better than the regular ones. I enjoyed the coleslaw. Perfect portion size and balanced flavors. I tried the key lime pie martini. Definitely not worth it for the price. I didn't get much alcohol out of it. Great presentation though! Oh and I ordered the conch fritters appetizer to go. I wanted to try them but knew I couldn't eat them and my sandwich. You get 6 big fritters. I can see these being super filling before an entree. The conch was tender but they were doughy - a typical fritter. I wish they had cracked conch.....

After craving some seafood, I decided to head to Mr. Shrimp Cajun Kitchen. For first timers like myself, Mr. Shrimp is located in Palm Springs Plaza right on Congress Avenue. When I arrived, I heard from another customer standing in line saying that that there was a recent remodel to the store. And indeed, at first glance the place looked brand spankin' new. After speaking with the manager, he mentioned that there is a 3rd Mr. Shrimp location being built in Pembroke Pines that is due to open in the next few months. Apparently the OG Mr. Shrimp location is located in Bell Glade. When it was my turn to order, I asked the the staff member about her recommendations regarding the menu. She recommended that the bowls were a new addition to the menu, and her personal favorite. I decided to order the Bayou Shrimp Bowl with steamed shrimp (versus fried shrimp option). The food came out fresh and hot. Their homemade seasoning and creamy cilantro sauce on a bed of rice was very tasty. Overall, I had an excellent eating experience on Saturday afternoon. The staff was very friendly and even the owner greeted me in the seating area to make sure everything was okay with my food. I will definitely be coming back to Mr. Shrimp. Next time, I will try the fried shrimp and the crab legs. read more

It may look like your average neighborhood seafood joint, but Mr. Shrimp is anything but! I wandered in with my fiancé on a Friday night, and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and incredible aroma of Cajun seafood boils. We managed to snag a table w/ booth in the back. The place was very cozy and clean. We ordered the The Louisiana traditional Cajun boil. You have a choice of picking a protein which consists of Shrimp, Crab Legs, Mussels, and Crawfish. They provide you with options to mix and match to your liking. I was impressed that they have a "Market Style" option where you can have the ability to have the shell-on shrimp or shell-off shrimp. The shrimp were little bombs of buttery goodness, and the garlic was robust but not overpowering. When our boil arrived, our expectations were exceeded. This is one of those places where they act like they do not have water on tap so forced to buy the warm bottle water.They said they are out of tacos but had all the ingredients in plan view of the customers.I have to say the seafood freezer looked clean.As far as the food is conserned we had the shrimp steamed and the fried oyster dinner.The oysters were on the fishy side. Today was my first time eating here; was a little nervous because I didn't see alot of pictures online before coming. The restaurant was renovated recently; looks very chic and clean. The food customer service was great; even while eating the staff members would walk around and check on you and ask if you needed anything else. The food is made once you order; so it's a little wait. The wait is worth it; the food is fresh and really good. Definitely fitting of the Louisiana feel! Mr. Shrimps!!! Every time I come to South Florida I always make a stop here in Palm Springs. Since the new renovation, the food menu changed with more options. The "Bayou bowl" is my personal favorite. With such a wide range of seafood like mussels, crawfish, and crab legs, you surely will not be disappointed. Whenever I am in Lake Worth, Florida area, I always hit up MR. SHRIMPS. You cannot beat the FRESH seafood and the friendly family owned staff. The steamed shrimp and the crab claws are always my number one choice. The Mr. Shrimp Seasoning is the perfect combination of spice and seasoned salt along with the melted butter.
