Love this place. They have carryout and delivery. The inside is small Cafe style so it's more comfortable to go but you can eat inside. They have great options and the seafood is quality. Mr. Shrimp is excellent, as long as your expectations are in-line with their offering. The trick is that you have to be comfortable ordering seafood from a dirty, hole-in-the-wall casual-dine restaurant where you may also have issues with the employees in placing your order. I've had some of my best meals in similar settings in NY City and these issues do not bother me. If these are issues for you, definitely *avoid* Mr. Shrimp. If you're able to get past the issues above, they offer fresh shrimp, crab, crawfish and vegetables they boil and dust with an Old-Bay style seasoning upon ordering. I really enjoy it, I've never once had a bad meal. The prices can't be beat and you can order just want you want, by weight. For example, I often order a half pound of shrimp and pound of crab legs which is enough for two. Although they have King Crab and Lobster on the menu, they've never once stocked these options despite many requests. Important Tip: Make sure to request they season your food *lightly* unless you enjoy heavily seasoned seafood that may be too spicy and overbearing. They are consistently heavy handed with seasoning. They're happy to give you a side and you can add more if their "light" seasoning is not strong enough. Now as for not answering their phones and having you on hold for 5 minutes plus, It's a little irritating trying to order a meal to go. Well just happened to be going to harbor freight and noticed Mr shrimp. From the outside I was a little worried but when I came in they greeted me well and were very courteous. The restaurant is some what of place your order and then they cook to order in front of you and call you when ready to sit and eat. Nothing fancy nor would I say clean but food and workers and maybe owner was great. Very busy and lots of guest throughout my 30 min there. I think a real local place with reasonable prices like a pro-boy for 8.99 I would recommend but if your a clean freak then I would probably so no. read more

My first time coming to Mr. Shrimp. It is a tiny place hole in wall but very good seafood for the price. I had a pound of crab legs and half a pound of shrimp all tossed together in garlic and butter. It was amazing!!! Only thing this place is missing is some cold beer to go with the seafood . They have a lot of business. A lot of people I saw there were coming to pick up and go. So you know the food isn't sitting there . They actually sell. Our first time in this evening, but definitely not our last! My wife and I shared a large seafood boil and it was fantastic! All of the seafood was really fresh tasting and cooked perfectly. Too often in a boil the shrimp get overcooked and rubbery, but that was certainly not the case here. The butter/seasoning mix was delicious, albeit a bit salty. We added mussels to our boil and they were tender and delicious. We've had seafood boils at other high-end county restaurants that weren't this good (Benny's, Hogsnapper). Fantastic food, very lovely remodel and tons of little details that make for a complete dining experience. Have been here many times, but what prompted this review was their lobster and fries with garlic herb butter! This tastes fantastic, perfectly fried, crispy yet tender lobster, really tastes like a five star dish. Finished it off with their banana pudding...also soooo good and fresh and perfect balance of sweet and creamy. Definitely recommend checking this place out. I'm glad they upgraded the place looks great, but changing the menu to pay for the upgrade. Not sure why they did that used to be able to get a whole fillet for $11 now they give you a 1/4 of one at same price! The flavors are decent but theres alot to be improved upon here. I had the shrimp po boy and there was wayy too much lettuce and tomato and due to the way they put the sandwhich together the overall edibility of the sandwich was near impossible. The fries are frozen, the apperance isn't great (ceiling tiles are dirty and falling apart, the have random stock shelves full of ramen noodles and lemon juice in the middle of restuarant) but as i said the flavors are decent, i feel like this place has some potential, but they definitely need to revamp some things. read more

Be careful! You can get addicted to this place. I found out about this place from a friend when I told her that I was craving Spicy Crab legs and Shrimp from Joe's Crab Shack. Joe's closest restaurant is in Ft. Lauderdale and they are not exactly cheap. Mr. Shrimp has very reasonable prices for their seafood. I have not looked back at Joe's since. I go in there about once a week. I embarrassed to say the employees know my name. I had their conch both steamed and fried and it's delicious. After reading the good reviews I was excited to try the shrimp and I'm glad I did. I got take out of a half pound of steamed jumbo shell off shrimp with the krab salad and fries. The shrimp were steamed perfectly with just a touch of butter and spicy seasons. A half pound was about 14 shrimp. The fries were done just right, still soft with just a little crispy outside and the krab salad was also good. The owner was very polite and helpful while I decided what to try. Its not really a "fast" food place so it does take around 10-15 minutes to get your food depending on how much and what you order. My favorite dish is the steamed shrimp with rice and the two sides. I read the reviews on Yelp! So I decide that my wife and I would give it a try and we were not disappointed. Tammy who was managing the location did a great job on helping us select our dinner. She took her time and explain everything that was available. She answered all of my wife's questions about the menu. My wife and I decided on the steamed shrimp and they were wonderful. It came on a bed of rice and I am not a big rice fan but it was great. I had the Krab salad and it was very good and the hush puppies was the best I have had in South Florida. They were Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside with just a bit of onion in the batter. It is not the fanciest eating place but the food was great and the prices were reasonable.
