It's been about a year since my last review, and I'm still loving these sandwiches. I now alternate between a regular sized pastrami (no onions) and a king sized ham sandwich (no onion) extra cheese. Both are delicious. The pastrami's is just too filling to get as a kind. But the ham is perfect for one meal now, and one in a couple hours. The only negative thing I have to say is that they don't let you substitute a topping for another topping. I feel like I should be able to substitute sliced pickles on the sandwich for the onions I have them remove. In my mind, those are equivalent, but I understand that they need to make money where they can. So, if I'm picking up a sandwich on my way home, I just add the pickles at home. If I'm taking the sandwich to work or elsewhere, I have them add them...because I love pickles on a sandwich! read more

I just want to start off saying we started patronizing this restaurant when they first opened year ago and the foot was always fresh and the staff was decent but over the years it has changed so much we stop going but since it's been a while we wanted to check them out again and I should have pass them up. I ordered the philly cheese steak and when I tell you I feel like I have only bread cheese a a little meat and my hubby's ham and turkey sub was the same at least he had lettuce to make it look like something. I didn't get a picture of his but I got one mine. Then to top it off the young lady on the phone told my hubby when he called to complain said...that's how we make them. The cashier Christina was very rude. When I called to tell her my sandwich was wrong, she proceeded to argue with me about the order, the sandwich was for my son who ONLY gets ham and bread. She said the sandwich was ordered with everything, NOT TRUE! Apparently the only way to replace it was for me to drive back to the restaurant and get a new one. No credit, or refund could be issued! So my man has never had Mr. Submarine before so he decided to go since he was in the area. We brought two sandwiches a regular turkey and a king turkey. When I opened the King sub and bit into it I am like something is missing. I wasn't sure since I haven't had them in a while. So the king turkey sandwich had only 3 slices of meat to fit the sandwich and a gain of lettuces, all dry bread and 3 onions. Why kind of dry sandwich is this. We called to complain, about the meat the owner stated that they put 3oz of mean on there king subs but there is no way that this is 3oz of meat. He then states to bring the sandwich back we are 40miles away for this place ain't no way. This was our first time at this store we will continue to go to the one on manheim. These people come in our neighborhoods make our money and treat us like crap while being very nasty to us. Well you wont be giving me 1oz meat and or getting any more of my money. It's Friday night, and their kitchen/food prep area is ridiculously clean. If you're looking for a tasty everyday value...it's hard to beat 5 delicious full-size sandwiches for $16.49 after tax. I always have mine cut into thirds for easier sharing. This name has been a Chicagoland institution sine July of '75 and still serves RC Cola. The women working the drive through is either smoking marijuana or you need to fix your intercom. It took her several times to get the order correct and we skipped ordering anything additional because we figured she'd mess it up. It was always a great place and friendly staff. But the last month they have gotten terrible. Food has been wrong twice and when we went back a heavier set you gal with glasses had the nastiest attitude. She is rude. Disrespectful. Will never go back. This location is great! I ordered a roast beef sub with cheese fries. Everything was super fresh and hot. I had to wait a little bit in the drive thru but it's because everything was being made or order...so I didn't mind that at all. This was my first time at this restaurant so I decided to go in instead of going thru the drive thru. After the young lady took our order I watched the gentleman behind in the back. Apparently there was a miscommunication with a drive thru order, instead of remaking the sandwich he wiped off the condiments that he put on the sandwich with a paper towel and took the meat that he placed on the sandwich back in the container it came from. Went to place a call ahead order at 2:35 pm on 12/9/21 and was told by a Hispanic woman who sounded very intoxicated to hold on she needed to take a window order first. She accidentally just left the line open, set the phone down and instead of taking an order she proceeded to have a very loud and VERY inappropriate conversation with another employee who was complaining about being on the verge of getting fired. They both were swearing and using the N word. The guy that was complaining about another female he worked with and was nervous about being fired. He was EXTREMELY unprofessional. I wouldn't dare repeat what he was saying about his boss and coworkers and the woman was worse! I eventually hung up and called back after some time and the woman was so messed up she kept calling me mam. I'm a male with a deep voice. When I explained I heard everything they were saying and was upset that she lied about taking an order just to put me on hold to have a very unprofessional conversation, she cut me off and started a huge drama story on how two of her coworkers got into a fight earlier in the day. I didn't care to hear it. She then kept saying mam I'm so sorry I'm so embarrassed and I kept saying I'm a guy why do you keep calling me mam. I started to explain how I was calling ahead to order as I'm already on way home from work to bring family food but now I'm upset and she just laughed and said ok mam and hung up. After hearing how ghetto they spoke, how messed up she sounded and the threats made to people not even there in spanish and english I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EATING HERE. Idc how good the food is. I really like the food and it seems pretty clean inside most of the time. My concern is mainly about the bathroom - they do NOT have any soap in the men's room! How do employees clean their hands when they finish doing their business? Do they touch the door knob :( I also wish they would turn on the lights in the dining area during the day, because it is darker in there it makes it feel less clean than it really is. Overall i would give it a 5-10, it was probably 12a.m when my husband and I were in the mood for Italian beefs. We went through the drive thru, and got fries. I live 10 Min away from the area yet the fries were stale as if I purchased them yesterday. First impressions speak volumes, but I'm always willing to give another shot. read more

It's unfortunate good service on the southwest suburbs is far and few between. I have attempted to receive a good service from this particular location numerous times. Today July 3, 2015 at 12 PM I went to Mr. submarine and utilized their drive-through they never are prop with answering their customers in the drive-through area when they are able to respond to the customers awaiting they have a hard time hearing through their buzzer system so they asked customer to come to the window when you arrive at the window they seem as if it's their first time taking an order or their first day of work it takes well over 10 to15 minutes to receive one single simple sandwich. I will never ever ever patronize this location again they're not prompt, they have no consideration for the customers precious time, especially during the lunch hour and they have no sense of urgency.
