Excellent customer service always! I was having a problem redeeming a free lunch from the Daily Specials Lunch Giveaway. I called and Rich answered the phone and went above and beyond to make it happen! I was running late out of work when I called him and he had the entire meal ready by the time I got there. We've been big fans of the Bound Brook store since I drove past them a few years ago and gave it a shot....it soon became quite the family tradition on Tuesdays for us to the point they knew 2/3rds of my order by just picking up the phone! So when we found out there was one around the block from our new house, we were thrilled! The first two times we went there....not so much, but we found out that our guy Rich is now running things here....we came back...HUGE IMPROVEMENT...looking forward to making this place the new tradition! My wife used to buy me subs from Mr. Subs. I went there today to order 2 roast beef with american cheese subs and was so disappointed we are never going back again. Mr. Subs is an adequate, standard, everyday, NJ sub shop. A co-worker and I ordered from here today since the deli we usually go to, is on vacation. I got the Salad Sub, and co-worker got a Turkey sub with both being perfectly okay for taste and freshness. One small thing, was that I had to ask for extras on the salad sub (a regular salad sub is just lettuce, tomatoe & onion) and one of the extras was olives. For an entire half sub, there were only twelve olive slices. Twelve olive slices for a half sub, I think is pretty sparse, especially since I ordered a salad sub, but, even as an extra on a regular sub, twelve slices of olives is pretty meager. Although we found Mr. Subs sufficient and will keep the menu in our file, we won't be making it our regular place. read more

The best sub shop in South Plainfield, and also a nice option for breakfast. The woman who works there most of the time runs a very tight ship, and I respect that a great deal. I like their roast beef when it is rare, as well as their oven-roasted turkey. I have had a few other subs, and they are respectable but nothing to laud. I have been coming here for many years but o can honestly say I won't be going back. I went there to order my sandwiches as I usually do. However, there was a man who came in after me, I ordered first and he ordered right after me. My food was done bagged up and ready to be paid for. He was standing next to me and although the lady behind the register knew I was there first and my order was already rang up on the register she allowed him to pay for his food first. She then, instead of taking my money next walked away from the register. The kid making the sandwiches stopped what he was doing to come ring me up-kudos to him for the great customer service! But I won't be going back. Oh and I'm assuming she did this because I am African American and no the man who was allowed to pay before me was not African American. She gives this place a bad name . To the owner please re-evaluate your staff and their personal discriminations. read more

Pretty standard sub place. I personally didn't like the renovation they made, but I always grab these subs before going to the beach and the cheesteak is pretty good with a side of Hot Fries . The place became dead now, but I still go here as my favorite sub shop. read more

I give this 2 stars after trying this place 4-5 times in the last 9 months. The bread is fresh and the cold cuts are delicious. They make a delicious sandwich. But be prepared to have a great sandwich with a side of apathy and attitude. I've been different days, different times, with different staff on duty and the vibe is the same: we're doing you a favor. I wanted it to be my imagination, until today when a friend went in and ordered for me. She came back and said I'm not going there again, the girls behind the counter are silly and snotty, just overall bad customer service. Retraining is needed from the top down. There are too many other places to spend my money. I won't return. read more

Nice place with great sandwiches. The key to a good sub is the bread, and theirs is perfect. Not a fancy place inside, but decent enough for a sub place. Their Katrina sub is da bomb. Grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, Mozzarella, and balsamic. Highly recommend. read more

Great subs! I moved into my apartment on a hot August day, and my cousins and parents were helping me. I needed some quick food to give them for graciously helping me out on such a balmy day. I found Mr. Subs which was only a mile away from my place. I was shocked at how good the subs were. Service was quick and the place was clean. It's a great place to get a classic sub from. Everyone helping me move enjoyed the sandwiches, even the pickiest of eaters. I'm definitely going to eat from here again, maybe I'll try delivery. Keep up the good work! read more

This place has amazing subs ! I have been there a handful of times and the food has always been very satisfying. Only complaint is the staff... Every time I have been there 2-3 of their team members just seem completely miserable. One actually was leaning on the register with their eyes closed and just seemed as if she hated her job. I said thank u to the girl making my sub about 4 times and each time she just had a stank face and never said anything back. Don't really care for their service but if your picking up and going it really is worth a try. read more
