Mr. Sun is one of my favorite boba shops in the Bay Area. I love their handmade boba. The texture has a mochi-like texture and it is really good. My favorite drink is the Rainbow Boba Milk Tea, because you get to try all three of their boba flavors (mango, brown sugar, & strawberry). It is also located in a great location and close to Sizzling Lunch and Bruster's Ice Cream. Definitely recommend Mr. Sun if you want to try handmade boba! read more

This place is just decent. Drinks are ok. Their service when I went was bad. First off, when I ordered, I asked for mango green tea. Then when I say my receipt I saw the cashier charged me for mango green tea with crystal ball and mango boba. I told her I ordered mango green tea, not this. She was like this is mango green tea. And I said no just mango green tea and pointed at their menu. They did refund me and charged me for mango green tea. One star for terrible customer service. I ordered 10 drinks via doordash. When the delivery arrived, I realized there wasn't any straws included. I asked the driver and the driver stated the shop did not include any. I called Mr. Sun Tea to ask about the straws. One of the staff members Camila said, "Ma'am I don't believe you paid for the straws". I asked her then, "since when did customers need to ask for boba straws?" I understand in SF there are some stores that charge extra but it is not a common trend here. I then proceeded to ask her how I can order these straws online on their doordash shop, she told me it wasn't an option. At this point I was extremely upset and told her this is ridiculous. She said I can come pick up the straws if I wanted but they cannot help me otherwise. If picking up was an option, I wouldn't have ordered on doordash. The shop is literally 10 min away from the delivery address but Mr. Sun Tea offered no help and no sympathy. I asked their staff to contact Doordash but was told there is nothing they can do. Camilla gave me her manager Jennifer's number but it went straight to voicemail. I ended up contacting doordash myself in order to have the order redelivered with straws. Ridiculous. read more

I got the three brothers Tea and the flavors were quite nice. You can actually taste the strong tea flavor, and the pearls are nice a chewy. Would reccommend 75 or under sugar since there is a lot sweetness from the toppings. read more

Brown sugar boba milk tea was the star here. The flavor was so amazing. I'd love to try it mixed with the oatmeal pearls. What was NOT great however was the daily flavor: peach boba. The peach boba was practically flavorless. Only one pearl, literally one, had a fantastic burst of peach flavor. Unsure if it was a bad batch or if they are always so weak. Plenty of parking, big menu, nice and clean shop. I will come back for sure, just not for the daily flavors. The menu could use some cleanup, things with a set sweetness are not marked correctly. I wanted a 0 sweet pineapple black tea but was told it had a set sweetness, even though the menu item did not have the S next to it. The monitor menus kept turning off, making it impossible to focus on the menu. I also found it really strange that their default plain black tea is Earl Grey. I sometimes like an Earl Gray, but it is far too strong for boba. Most of the plain teas seemed more floral. No roasted oolong, no ti guan yin. I do not recommend getting a plain Earl gray with peach boba. Far too strong and bitter. read more

My office is just a few minutes from this place and I really wanted something cold for such a hot day. I came here right after lunch time and I was the only customer at that time. Since I've never tried flavored boba (besides honey boba), I ordered strawberry smoothie with strawberry boba. Well, the cashier said I can't add boba to smoothies due to the coldness of the drink affecting the texture of the boba. That was disappointing to hear. I've ordered many smoothies before and I've always added boba in it. No one ever denied my request before. Anyways, I ended up ordering the passion fruit tea with strawberry boba, less sweet. To be honest, the drink was just so so. You can definitely taste the passion fruit but along with the liquid, they added the seeds inside the drink, which I thought was weird. In terms of the boba, it was on the less chewy side and after a while, the outside layer started to melt into the liquid. Then I started seeing the white core of the boba. In the end, the boba got stuck together on the bottom of the drink. For the price, it was quite high compared to other boba shops and for me not being able to choose exactly what I want, I doubt I'll be coming back anytime soon. Parking was plentiful when I came. I don't know if it's because I came here right when they just opened, but the service was very slow. My friend and I ordered on the kiosk and I think we were the 4th order. In front of the window, you can watch them make fresh boba. We ordered two Mr. Sun Special with Strawberry Boba, Sweet Cloud Milk Foam with Green Tea, and the Golden Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea. I think it took about 25 minutes for us to get our drinks. As I was watching them make the drinks, I could tell which cup was mine (Sweet Cloud Milk Foam Green Tea) because I didn't order any boba. They finished 3 of our drinks and I was wondering why they weren't making my drink. Then, they called out our order and the lady noticed we were missing a drink. She looked behind her and grabbed a cup that wasn't see-through so I thought I was wrong and that was my drink. When we got home, I looked at the cup and realized she gave me the wrong drink. They gave me a Rainbow Boba Milk Tea 70% sweet. I usually like my drinks with 0% sweetness or the lowest amount so I wasn't able to enjoy the drink at all. My friend ordered the two Mr. Sun Special with Strawberry Boba and she told me that the drinks were inconsistent. The first one was not enjoyable, but the second one tasted better. Drinks are good. Just keep in mind when ordering, if you are a very special customer they will service all the customers who came after you. You will have to remind them that they passed your number a few times now. Then they will realize you are the special customer and start making your drink. Something about the boba here just tastes different but in a really good way. I ordered 6 different drinks for my family and we all said the same, that the boba quality was so good! The texture is just right and the flavors were great. Even the drinks themselves tasted like they were made with fresh, quality ingredients rather than powder or the cheap tapioca. I have been a frequent customer to this place and I've never bothered to give any place a review until I had their weekend boba today!! I went here today to celebrate Fathers Day with my children and it was a terrific experience. The service was quite fast (even when there was alot of orders ahead of me ) and the workers are extremely friendly and helpful! The Mr. Sun Special was delicious and I have to say, I'd like to thank the chefs who made and cooked these handcrafted bobas. Whoever made the kiwi boba today must have magical hands to make it so scrumptious. The only thing that doesn't make this a 5 star is when I come in on weekdays and the service is slower than usual.
