Brown sugar boba with rainbow boba: the milk tea itself was pretty standard, nothing out of this world. What makes them unique is the fresh boba that you get to watch being freshly made. Rainbow boba consisted of strawberry, mango, and brown sugar Mango milk tea: surprising good! Was expecting a very strong syrup like mango taste but it was a very subtle not so sweet milk tea. It came with mango boba which was also delicious. And I think I tasted some mango bits added to the drink which is always a plus! read more

This place got so stingy!!!!!!! I hate it when boba shop quality goes down. Unfortunately i think this place is going to be at fault for its downfall. They used to have 25% ice and even the other mr sun locations have 25% ice, now it's 50% . I cant believe they're being so cheap . They also got so expensive which I cant blame them for bc of inflation but oh my god theyre penny pinching on the toppings, i dont even get anything complicated, i just get a plain tea and a topping, and sometimes the drink isn't even filled to the top, annnd they add so little of the topping, it's literally just flavored water why are you so stingy . The boba here is pretty unique, all hand-made in front of you if I'm not mistaken. They have very unique boba flavors like strawberry and kiwi boba. To be honest, I'm not a very big fan of the hand-made boba here, but I know a lot of people who like the texture and consistency. Boba aside, the tea isn't bad but also isn't heavily flavored if that's what you're looking for. The flavor from the syrup and boba come through more than the tea itself, so if that's what you like this place is pretty good. read more

Got the grapefruit tea and it was delicious. First time here and just saw what was their favorite drinks are and just ordered. My daughter got the hot ginger with brown sugar and that was amazingly good. It's good when the weather is a little cold or if you have a sore throat. Will come back again. We assumed that we didn't have to say the whole name of the drink with the toppings, especially since it is a drink under the specialty menu. I recently ordered from this location and it tasted like water; there was absolutely no taste to it. Mr. Sun Tea was a bit far from me but was recommended to me by a lot of my friends. I went here and I got the Green Tea w/ Heineken. It's actually not alcoholic and tastes much like a typical green tea but with a fizz to it. The chia seeds are a good topping for it and there's plenty of seats to sit around. My favorite thing about this place is their strawberry boba. I don't usually get boba. Nothing wrong with it. Just not the first topping I would go for. But their strawberry boba is a game changer for me. They aren't popping boba. Just imagine regular tapioca but strawberry flavor. Seems like they make them from scratch and use real strawberries. I've had their mango boba and it's just as good. It works well with jasmine green milk tea and very well in their Mr suns special. Only issue with the Fremont location is that their sugar levels are weird compared to other locations. I don't like my drinks too sweet so I usually get 50% sweetness but for this location you NEED 100% sweetness for it to taste a little sweet. I'm referring to the jasmine green milk tea. Pretty good drinks and REALLY chewy and fresh Boba! They hand make their own boba which is what sets them apart! I usually don't get boba as a topping but when I come here I do! The only thing that's kind of meh is that they don't let you customize drinks. For example if I didn't want basil seeds in a drink that usually has basil seeds, they won't let me take it out. While browsing the list of participating shops for Fremont restaurant week, I saw Mr. Sun Tea and jumped at the chance to try out a new boba place! The menu online looked pretty extensive and I wanted to try one of the blueberry drinks that was listed as special for restaurant week so I stopped by today and ordered two drinks to try! For the restaurant week special, I ordered the Mr. Sun Blueberry Duke since it sounded interesting. It has a base of black tea, blueberry and rose flavoring, as strawberry pieces, and crystal boba. I thought the strawberry went really well with the drink but the rose just made it a little off for me. I'm not a big fan of floral flavors so maybe I was better of trying a different blueberry drink. The crystal boba actually helped tamp down the rose flavor though and overall it was interesting. Probably wouldn't order it again though. For my second drink, I ordered the rainbow boba milk tea with three flavors of boba since I've never had flavored boba before and the website said they make their own boba! I would have liked the milk tea to have a stronger tea flavor but the flavored bobas were definitely a nice touch. The boba texture was on the softer side but the subtle strawberry and mango flavors definitely came through. I think the third boba flavor was the regular boba so it was there for texture. Overall I think Mr. Sun is a solid boba option if you're in the area and there's lots more drinks on the menu to try out! read more

Boba pearls made in house, how could I say no? PROS: -FRESH HANDMADE BOBA PEARLS. SO GOOD. Might be hit or miss for people who enjoy perfectly spherical regular boba, as the texture of these is somewhere in between regular boba and mochi/tangyuen. Right at the counter (protected by a transparent divider), you can see the process of making the tapioca dough and running it through the machine that turns them into pearls. They come in different flavors: taro, brown sugar, mango, strawberry, rainbow (?); I've tried taro, brown sugar, and strawberry, which were all delicious. Keep in mind they're a bit sweeter than normal pearls, so you might want to get your drink less sweet than you'd normally order. -Located in the same plaza as a popular ice cream spot as well as other businesses, but plenty of parking! -Unique menu items like the Mr. Sun Special (strawberry jam, fresh milk, and their strawberry boba pearls), as well as an alcohol-free Heineken green tea drink, cheese milk foams, and more -Drinks are very customizable -Large interior w/ good amount of seating & distance between tables -Friendly staff, very helpful if you need recommendations or clarification on anything! This place has really great boba pearls as all the other reviews have stated. I got the Mr. Sun Mango which I really enjoyed! It was pretty late in the evening so they had almost run out of mango boba and subbed me with some brown sugar boba instead. Both were very tasty and had such a good texture; probably the best boba pearls I have ever tried and I have had my fair share of boba in the Bay Area. I would recommend coming earlier in the day if you want to try their flavored bobas (mango and strawberry) since it seems like those are really popular. Parking in this area isn't too bad since there is a lot adjacent to the shop but usually the lot is quite crowded due to other shops and restaurants in the area, including the newly opened sizzling lunch. The only reason I'm docking a star is because it is pretty pricy and you can't get different sizes. I can't always drink that much so it would be super nice if you could get a smaller size for a cheaper price! Otherwise, a great place to stop by for some boba. read more

The only thing I recommend here is the MR SUN SPECIAL Both strawberry and mango is delicious and really good I would pass on their milk teas because its a bit watered down and does not have much tea flavor.
