I've come here at least 5-10 times and every time I go it's a pleasant experience. The staff is nice and helpful with the ordering process. It's located at the corner of kapuloan right next to the Blaisdell. The cafe is cute and and homey. It attracts alot of young students that are usually studying. The only con to this place is that the parking is limited. I believe there is only 4 or 5 stalls and they are almost always taken. Other than that the service is quick and everything I've tried there so far was tasty. They have a stamp card& purchase nine drinks and get the tenth one free. Previously, I visited Mr. Tea last year and enjoyed it, so I decided bring my bf to let him try it. This time I got the potted black milk tea. It came with oreo cookie crumbs topped with a mint leaf. I was really looking forward to it because my friend got it and recommended it to me. It did not fail my expectations! I thought it tasted like cookies and cream ice cream, and wasn't too sweet. Came here twice in one day, hits the spot every time. Ordered the Black Milk Tea with pearls, no ice. And, Matcha Milk Tea with pearls, regular ice. The Black Milk Tea was smooth and fine in taste. The tea to milk ratio was dam nice. The Matcha Milk Tea was really good, pretty dam refreshing. If any boba place can get the original black milk tea right, you know it passes the boba addicts standards. The consistency of their pearls were just right meaning they boiled their boba with the right ingredients in all the right ways. Probably used "right" 3 times in that sentence, but Mr. Tea the greatest variety of different milk teas. Not only that but they also have macrons. Free WiFi, AC, indoor and outdoor seating. I visited Mr. Tea today with a friend and it was a 5-star experience all the way! A beautiful and spotless cafe, friendly staff and quick service. I ordered a Jasmine milk tea with boba and 50% sweetness, and a strawberry smoothie for my little one with 25% sweetness. I truly appreciate the ability to lessen the amount of sugar in these drinks because a sugar'd out toddler is an ugly thing to behold. She didn't even notice the lack of sweetness and happily sucked her way to a brain freeze. I had the pleasure of meeting George, the owner of Mr. Tea, a few months back and let me tell you, this guy takes his boba seriously. The balls here art very soft and he explained how he searched everywhere for the perfect product. He's the type of person you'd really like to see succeed as a business owner because he's so sweet and genuine. I have to admit that at first I wasn't a fan of Mr. Tea. But after a few visits and an expanded menu I've really come to love this place! I typically order the Thai Tea with coffee jelly (which is definitely calorie free right?) or a nice hot tea. Recently I got an iced latte with coffee jelly and felt like a genius because it was coffee with coffee! The staff is very friendly and nice and don't mind if you camp out for hours and hours while working on a laptop until you're so tired that everything seems funny and you can't stop giggling with you co-worker about the most ridiculous things. If you are going to camp out please be considerate and buy a beverage every 2 hours! (that's just my suggestion because the staff/owner are so nice they certainly won't say anything to you) It's a small space so sometimes there's not that much seating. Parking can also be kinda tricky during really busy times so carpooling is usually a good idea. They also offer macaroons, cakes, and sandwiches but run out on occasion so be prepared you might not be able to score one of these babies every time you visit. read more

Parking is free but it's limited. I do not like the parking here because the stalls are narrow and it's really hard to get out of. Be sure to reverse park to save yourself the headache of potentially hitting the wall or pillar. [Service] The staff is nice and friendly. They were really patient with me when I wasn't sure with what I wanted to order. [Interior] There are couple tables inside and outside. Most tables sit for 2 but I think if you have a bigger party they don't mind you moving the tables together. There's also a small area with bar stools. The decor is somewhat hipster-ish. You will see pictures of their rabbit with its iconic mustache which is also plastered on their cups. [Drinks] I'm a sucker for milk-teas and I think i've tried almost all of their milk-teas haha. I usually always order my milk teas with boba and they're nice and chewy and fresh. Strawberry milk tea - It tastes like strawberry milk Honeydew melon milk tea - It tastes like a melona bar Jasmine Green Milk Tea - It has the sweetness similar to regular milk tea but it has a "refreshing" taste to it Taro milk tea - If you like taro this is the drink to order. I'm not a huge fan of taro but to me it was too creamy Cotton Candy milk tea - Very sweet. The taste reminded me of that bubble gum flavor with the yellow and blue wrapper that you get when trick-or-treated Thai milk tea - It has a bitter element to it however there's a sweet creamy taste to it Pumpkin milk tea - The pumpkin taste isn't as overpowering as compared to starbucks pumpkin spice. But you can still taste subtle hints of the that spice Peppermint milk tea - The peppermint taste isn't as overpowering as compared to starbuck's peppermint mocha but you there's hints of the peppermint and it leaves your mouth with that "chill" feeling [Overall] It's one of my go to places for milk tea because they have a variety of drinks you can order. Myself and another first timer parked on the 2nd level and had to be directed to your parking area. Secondly, the girl who took my order needs to be louder and friendlier. It was my first time here, and I've heard and read great things about you, but your cashier blew it for me. She didn't speak very loud but, her body language and her attitude told me that I was bothering her by asking my questions about your products. So I ordered whatever I thought sounded good and got the heck out of there. Customer service speaks louder than a good drink taste. Her customer service skills needs improvement. Such a cute and adorable little trendy boba shop on the corner of kapiolani and ward. The mustache logo was a great idea for marketing. It's definitely attention grabbing. When I saw it on instagram, my first thought was "WHERE CAN I GET THOSE DRINKS IN THOSE MUSTACHE CUPS?" I've tried the hibiscus drink, milk tea, and matcha. The milk tea was good but nothing I haven't had before. My favorite is still coffee or tea for the milk tea. The hibiscus was recommended to be popular but I personally thought it kind of tasted like grape juice (maybe pomegranate juice?) from concentrate. My absolutely favorite is the matcha! You can actually taste the matcha and it's not just some artificial green tea impostor. This is the real deal! And I think it's pretty interesting that they offer chia seed as something you can put in your drink instead of tapioca. I guess they're hopping on the chia seed health food craze. The main downside about this place is the parking. I will most likely not come back because parking here gives me way more anxiety than parking at the mccully shopping center lot for coffee or tea. There's only a few stalls and the lot doesn't come full circle so if it's full, you'll have to reverse out of the lot. It's impossible to complete a million point turn to spin around if there's no space to do it. Also, if there's a train of cars behind you, you'll have to wait for all of them to reverse out before you get your chance... Unless the parking situation improves, I probably won't come back unless someone else is driving. read more

As I was taking my cousins out for a walk along Kapiolani, I stumbled upon Mr.Tea Café! Another new addition to Hawaii's milk tea business? Ahh, still can't compare to Coffee or Tea. Mr.Tea in the building of 909 Kapiolani Blvd - directly across from Jack in the Box on Ward Ave. Location is pretty convenient. There's 5 stalls you can park in the parking garage, if not street parking. Although street parking will be rough around that area. A bright and clean café with couple tables outside and inside. I love places with tables outside and inside for customers to enjoy their drinks and chit chat with friends! The shelf with the hydroflasks is a great décor for the café. The first visit I had a regular unsweetened black tea with chia seed. It was just a regular black tea you can order from anywhere else, but the one from here is not too strong. The tea flavor is still there but it's not strong to the point where it's bitter. I also took a couple sips from my sister's milk tea with pearls. Ahh, nothing special. Coffee or Tea is still number one. Their milk tea has too much creamer. Yes I saw the girl scooping the creamer infront of my eyes. Anyways, the second visit here my sister ordered the Jasmine Green Milk Tea - had a couple of sips but it's too sweet in my opinion. And yes, we told them less sweet. The cotton candy with custard. Macha milk tea with custard also goes well together, and the toppings are just the right sweetness to avoid complete bounce-off-the-wall-syndrome. Almond milk is offered as an alternative to 2% and cream for those who prefer a non-dairy alternative. There are so many flavors and toppings that you can stroke your mustache over 50 times before making a final decision. Well, worry not because you can get a recommendation for just the right flavor. Macaroons are also perfect and tasty. Such a great buy for your evening study group sessions. Every drink is stamped with a mustache. You can also draw a beard on your lid if you so please. While milk tea establishments are popping up everywhere, it makes more of a tough decision to decide where I'm spending my broke student funds. Although you may think, "Milk Tea, there's no difference where you go" let me already stop you in your tracks... It's all about the appearance of the establishment, the staff that serves you, and of course the milk tea product itself. What separates Mr. Tea from most, besides the known stamp of a mustache on the cup, is their wide assortment of offerings. This was probably the first place I came across that offers hot milk tea and chia seeds as a added side. Oolong, jasmine, matcha, almond, or just plain milk tea will keep me quiet and happy for the next few hours. When ordering, I recommend just doing half sugar since it's already pretty sweet. If you're going for almond, try it with pudding, half sweet. It's like an almond float drink that will blow your mind. I could even do less sweet which is less than half and still gives that tea taste leaving with a hint aroma of almond. Less sugar, still great flavor & at an affordable price. Although prices seem high, it's still under $5 for a large and love they do stamp cards for frequent customers. Sadly, the only downside is their parking. Because it's in the 909 building on Kapiolani, stalls are very limited. It's about four stalls far in & three/four stalls near the entrance to the parking lot. Because they share with other businesses, it sucks but with no surprise you won't find parking. I finally made my way down to the corner of Ward & Kapiolani at the beginning of last week, and I've been 3 times since! I'm hooked! I have gotten both regular milk tea and oolong milk tea (my favorite) and have tried all the add-on's. You can't go wrong! The coolest part of the whole process is the shaker machine they use to blend up your bubble drink to pure perfection. Someday I'd like to own one of those machines. It can go right next to my shabu shabu set and personal sushi chef. Parking is a little tricky in that area, but I think you can park in the adjacent apartment building and they will validate your parking. Today was their public soft opening!! So a bunch of us from work walked over. It is a small, very classy and modern decor neat new milk tea boba place. I got to try their black milk tea boba and also just a plain black tea unsweetened. Some responses from my co-workers! "oh i love their BALLS!!!" aka boba! Their balls are just right...again referring to the boba. Yes their boba seems to be just perfect not too soft and squishy nor too hard an undercooked or firm, perfectly made. The black tea without milk and very little boba was good too if you are trying to stay away from sugar. I ordered a strawberry milk tea, thinking that I was getting milk tea flavored with strawberry. Nope! What I got was more like strawberry powder and sugar in water. They really should not call it "milk tea" if there's no actual tea in it, but rather strawberry milk or strawberry drink. When I asked the cashier if I could get my milk tea made with tea instead of water, he responded with something like 'too late it's already made'. So I drank it anyway since I did pay ~$4 for it...
