I never ever leave reviews but I have never had such great and amazing food in my life. This is truly authentic and cooked with love, seasoning and everything one could look for in a meal. I've never had my expectations exceeded ever to where I was compelled to call them directly and thank them for such great food! This place is a must eat. Favourite Mexican restaurant in Naples. Friendly, unpretentious, freshly prepared. Great guacamole! Margaritas were really tasty as well.

The restaurant was decorated nice but the food was less than average. It was tacos for $2 night. The meat was dry and had no flavor. The margaritas were overpriced. Truthfully, Taco Bell is better than this restaurant. And I love Taco Bell. Go down the road to Taco Bell and save a lot of money. Too many other better places to eat. This our third and last appearance to Mr. Tequila as the service fell below disgraceful expectations. You would think that with the name Mr. Tequila that the restaurant would serve custom ordered Margaritas ... WRONG! The Margaritas are made in the morning in a large container and served iced down with artificial lemon and cheap tequila (... if any). So we told the waitress that the Margaritas were not good and wished to exchange them for a Corona-Extra draft. She left with a glare resembling a "deer in a headlight" and advised her Manager of our order change. The Manager proceeded to exchange our drinks for 3 large mugs of Negra Modelo since the Coronas were out; Essentially he took it upon himself to determine what draft we were going to drink that day in order to cover the price differential of the Margaritas! Finally the main entrees were mediocre to plain bad from a supposedly authentic Mexican Restaurant ... very disappointed. I guess Chili's would make more sense next time ... just kidding on that. The only person with any common sense was another waiter that just apologized to us every time he passed our table. Restaurant and location would give you another notion of the place but don't judge a restaurant by it's looks ... judge it by its service and accountability!! read more

- colorfully decorated & inexpensive with very good Mexican food conveniently located on Rt.41 Mr. Tequila is an originally Floridian restaurant as it was started in Bradenton. Naples's is it's most recent & third location. Upon walking in, you can't mistake it for anything but a Mexican restaurant. The decor is brightly colored & has typical pottery & south-of-the-border adornments. I particularly liked the backs of the bar chairs. They have depictions of Spanish life done in bright colors. I went there for lunch with my friend, Chris. We both had errands to do it so it's central location on The Trail (i.e. Rt.41; Tamiami Trail) was perfect for a quick bite. Their menu has all of the usual suspects: fajitas, combo plates, tacos, nachos, burritos, sopapillas, margaritas, beer, etc. including vegetarian choices. We both really enjoyed our picks: Chris - the lunch combination, Special Maria #3 which was a layered flour tortilla concoction; Me - the Lunch Chilaquiles which was a fried corn tortilla with yummy layers. I found that it was not as heavy as some Mexican food which I thought was a plus. If Mexican is your thing, definitely give this spot a try. Love eating here. I get "el combo" every time. It is 3 plates worth of food for 14.99. I have been here several times with large groups and they always accommodate us. They are never busy at lunch so it is also a good place to stop in during the week. read more

I had shrimp chichimango(sp?) wonderful. but the flan for desert was worth the trip alone, the best flan in a long time. A very average Mexican restaurant. Extremely busy this nite in November, packed with people. Seated right away and our drink order was taken along with some chips and salsa were brought. Chips were flavorless and salsa tasted like tomato sauce. Spinach and cheese enchiladas were alright, not much cheese and a lot of frozen spinach. Came with a small amount of rice and beans which were typical. The quesadillas were not good at all, not grilled or pressed, just a raw tortilla with large pieces of onions and peppers around it. Shrimp were good, but not fresh, quite large. Service was very slow, but it was packed. Server was not that attentive and it took a while for him to understand the order. Drinks were never refilled. Ordered a side of guacamole and it never showed up except for on the bill. Prices were average, but no bargain at all. Cramped dining room, no room to move your chair even. Extremely average experience. Will not go back anytime soon. read more

Came across the alley from Ft. Lauderdale for the beach and sunset. Decided to stop for dinner before heading home for the night. Great decor and atmosphere. Food was a bit underwhelming. My wife and I love Mexican food and hit local spots every time we travel. My wife ordered the enchiladas super rancheras. The dish brings 5 enchiladas. One of each beef, cheese, chicken, re fried bean and shredded beef. All were bland. Their salsa was ok but needed a kick from a bottle of hot sauce that was on the table. We also enjoy molé so we asked for a small sample. It was watery and lacked flavor. Looks like they watered it down too much. I probably will not return. read more

This was absolutely awful. Came on cinco de mayo, and I understand it is busy but the food was inedible. Ordered the veggie fajitas to receive a plate of broccoli and carrots and other vegetables clearly from a frozen bag. The food was not seasoned and the most bizarre mix of vegetables that did not even mix well with the Mexican flavor. We went there a couple weeks ago while visiting Naples. We got there late in the evening on a week day: in spite of all that we got great service and the food was outstanding! I wasn't in the mood for a full dinner and got the Sante Fe Nachos form the appetizer list. I was expecting the same old giant pile of nachos with a littl emat you normally get, but I was immediately suprised when a smaller plate came. The shredded chicken was incredibly most, the cheese queso was just enough and soo good, quacamole divine and chips light and fresh. I don't remember what my companion got but he is an avid mexican food fan and loved his too. Our server was great, very attentive without being bothersome. Good place, the carne asada is a traditional dish and they make it decent. The quality varies by chef I guess. Sometimes you'll go and it's good other time not. I also think it's annoying that they won't speak Spanish at a Mexican restaurant. Good food lottery. read more

This place was legitimately one of the best Mexican meals I've ever eaten. First, the chips and salsa are ridiculously good. The salsa has a bit of a kick which is awesome. Then our meals were even better. My husband got the fries beef chimichangas and the beef was great. I got a beef enchilada, crunchy chicken taco, and cheese quesadilla. I'm normally very skeptical of ground beef at Mexican restaurants for some reason, so I was nervous about the enchilada. IT WAS AWESOME. But even better was the chicken taco! The chicken had awesome flavor and wasn't that standard "chickeny, saucy, peppery/oniony" mix that a lot of Mexican places use. And the cheese was great too. Service was good too! While visiting Naples we had seen this restaurant in Yelp and decided to give it s try! We were pleasantly surprised! Salsa and chips were great. They had jarritos which is a muero a Mexican soda we like. For lunch we had chicken quesadillas and a Steak burrito salsas were great and the Mexican refried bean were delicious! Not really impressed about the drinks mainly because mine was water down, I had ordered vodka with cranberry juice, wich I can hardly taste the alcohol since it was all on top wich means that the bartender didn't take the time to mix it well enough.
