We came for a midweek lunch and opted to order ala carte instead of from the AYCE menu. By the looks of things most of the diners were chowing down all they could eat before returning to work. I ordered both tuna and octopus sashimi along with a Charlotte roll. All was excellent and would order again. Lori ordered the Teriyaki Chicken, stated it was tasty and would return especially when in the mood for Asian inspired dishes. Service was excellent and cheery. The restaurant gets deductions, however, for looking tired and desperately in need of fresh paint. The menus are worn thin with curling laminate--cannot imagine the number of germs clinging to them! This is my first experience at Mr.Tokyo but not my first sushi ayce experience. The food was ok, nothing to write home about. Not a lot of decor/ambience which is a bummer for me, unless it's fine dining I would love to see culture that makes the restaurant. I'm really disappointed with the service at Mr. Tokyo today. They close at 3pm and reopen at 4pm, and we arrived at 2:36pm. In the past, their last call for orders was 2:45pm, and even just two weeks ago I was able to order with no issue. Today, however, they refused to serve us and claimed they had changed their last call time "months ago,"customers should be clearly informed especially when it's different from what regular customers are used to. We were turned away despite arriving well before their posted closing time. Very Unprofessional, lazy, and zero respect for customers. Got there around 11:30. My kids were hungry so I thought we could sit and let them eat while we waited for 2 other people from our family. That wasn't the case. Every member of your party has to be there before you can be seated, no matter how dead or busy it was. They were not busy at all at the time we arrived and still sat down straight away when the rest of the family got there at 12:15. The food was good. The all you can eat is worth it if you can eat 2 sushi rolls minimum, plus appetizers and hibachi included, but they charge per entree that you do not finish and rolls as well. So if you do unlimited make sure you eat what you can. The table we sat at was small and all the tables looked a little small but the booths look very spacious. The restaurant had the lights dimmed and the bathrooms were clean for how old the building is. Taste: Average, nothing special. Exactly what you would expect. I am so happy that I got to dine here especially since I've been wanting to for quite some time. Ordering was a bit confusing since you check off what from the list you want. I ordered hibachi and they had confused our orders up by putting my rice on a separate bowl and my beef on a separate plate so that I had my chicken and rice on another plate. The sushi looked fresh and tasty but it is sometimes a hit or miss but this restaurant has consistency. The atmosphere wasn't too loud which was good and we enjoyed our time and ended up staying until they closed. Their closing times are confusing since they close at 3 pm and reopen later in the day. I've been hoping to get around to getting all you can eat sushi for a long time. The concept of all you can eat sushi, hibachi, and appetizers is awesome. I was so excited to get my fill of crab rangoon along with multiple sushi offerings. The all you can eat is $23.99, which you should end up paying for if you get two specialty rolls. As far as service goes, I had to dock a star. I personally felt like the staff weren't overly friendly and there was a lack of communication between them. The waitress wasn't easily accessible and I regretted not ordering all of the sushi I wanted the first go around despite fearing not being able to finish it, because it took a while to be able to order again. There was also an issue getting a refill on drinks, but another waiter was able to help. My parents wanted to get hibachi entrees instead of all you can eat but didn't realize that until after the waitress had walked away, so I instructed my dad to immediately go and correct the order, which he did. When we got our bill, we were surprised to see an incredibly high total, and thankfully I noticed that they charged us for two additional all you can eat orders in addition to the hibachi entrees. They had no problem with clearing that up, but be sure to read over your bill carefully if it doesn't look right and you have any confusion over ordering. Overall, this was a fun experience and I look forward to going again sometime! I have a few more rolls I am curious about. read more

As my family sat here for more than an hour when the wait was 20 minutes - and we watched how often a table would be searching for their server.... It just dawned on me. Right after we paid the check, we were still seated, I saw a mouse running behind the booths. I went to talk to the manager and for my surprise, after he apologized he said they were having issues with roaches, but "mouse", it was new to him... The place is not clean and my husband reminded me why we haven't eaten there, because the floors are always dirty, the bathroom hallway is super slippery due for being next to its kitchen. The food was good overall and the menu was a tad confusing but my server helped me with the jist of it. I had a combination hibachi plate with veggies, shrimp, steak & chicken. The men's restroom was not kept up and the paper towel dispenser simply had a roll plopped on top of it meaning that someone was too lazy or couldn't be bothered to install it properly. I don't know or understand even after making eye contact with me when I'd arrived.
