We stopped in to get some pizza slices to go and it was delish! A slice of pizza here is pretty cheap for the quality and size of the slice. They warmed the slices up and the cheese was nice and melty. I enjoyed the flavor of the sauce as well and thought it was a pretty good slice. They have a lot of other food options on their menu as well that I'd like to try. The service was fairly quick and the cashier was very friendly. Gennaro's has been a staple forEVER lol! Their pizza never disappoints...although if u want anything other than a cheese slice, don't wait til late at night...other than that, it's just the right amount of greasy, the customer service is polite (which is a rarity for this area TRUST ME), and the prices are more reasonable than the other pizza jawns in the area. read more

Since they've renovated they've been making better food. Good wings, parm sandwiches, fries, and onion rings. They know to pop a hole in the top of fries/rings containers so they don't steam when in transit. Too expensive for blue cheese/ranch sides. Would recommend this place. Ordered the cheesesteak which was very well seasoned. The sub roll was soft and not chewy. The fries were nice and crispy. After 15 months of living a block away we tried gennaros. It has very mixed reviews so that's kind of why we never rushed over here before. But it really is a 3 minute walk away. So we got two pies regular and buff chick. It was medium thickness but not really as thick and dense as dominos at all. I would say there was no density to the bread or crust at all. It was light and almost airy. Not quite like a croissant but it really reminded me of a thick piece of white sandwich bread more so. I do wish the crust was denser or more gooey to the bite ? But the crisp outer shell of the actual circumference or "real crust portion" of the pie was nice and crunchy but not too crunchy! Good flavor all round. They definitely put a good amount of cheese on their pizza. I liked the way they cooked it to a golden cheese. It's NOT thin pizza or at least it wasn't when I went. Tasted fine and it was maybe $11-12 total after tax for a medium 14" plain pizza. If you live near by this is a good option for the neighborhood. Best pizza ever ? Not in my opinion, but good for a random night for a fair price and really exceptional service. The pies were done within 20 minutes and ready and hot when I got there. Friendly staff. It took a lot longer than I expected, so it was a good thing I had plenty of time. Perhaps next time I'll call ahead and make sure it's ready. Once the sandwich arrived, it was hardy and flavorful. Decent amount of meatballs and served with a sauce that wasn't too salty and just the right amount of cheese. I loved the bread - crusty on the outside, yet warm and soft with the meatballs. I went for a pick up order today, and the guy in the grill was cooking WITHOUT gloves. I thought it was just moment thing, but I waited like 1( minutes and everything he cooked he touch with his bared hands. He chopped some chicken and I saw him scratch his head with his hands dirty from the chicken and just went and grabbed a bunch of broccoli and chopped it with his bared hands. Called and placed an order for take out. We ordered a small pizza and baked ziti. They told us it would take 30 mins. We got there in 35 mins and it was all still in the oven so we had to wait. The pizza was really good. I would definitely get it again but it was that good that I would crave it. It was very greasy which I didn't like. The baked ziti only had cheese on the top so once that first layer was eaten it was honestly just red sauce and noodles. They definitely should put more cheese through the ziti. read more

I love the accessibility and the hours of Gennaro's eat in or take out restaurant. However the fast food is some timey. Sometimes you can smell, taste and see the freshness and love that's giving in preparation of your food and sometimes you don't! Unfortunately we have experience dry, burnt or undercooked food. Although I will continue to recommend and order from Gennaros but suggest customers inform them how to season or prepare the food to your taste. i swear ive written a review for this place, but i guess i was wrong! Gennaro's is a neighborhood favorite. I have had everything here no joke haha - their deluxe cheeseburgers (comes with fries) - chicken caesar salad (HUGE QUANTITY) -gyros (both lamb and chicken) - Stromboli (pepperoni option is super oily omgggg- veggie option - delish! and their buffalo chicken- filled to the top!) - Margherita pizza (not worth it) and their buffalo chicken pizza (oily but filling) - their chocolate cake (WHICH IS AMAZING) All their food is great except the cheese fries/mega fries/whatever type of combo fries you buy - the fries come out soggy and they just don't hit the spot. Other than that I really cant complain about the food! Great fast service. Only time i hit a snag was when i had purchased a restaurant.com voucher and when i tried to use it they said 'they dont take them anymore....' which is weird since those never expire. We ordered a ham sandwich, a Greek salad with chicken and chicken fingers for delivery. Prices are very good and delivery was pretty quick. Portion size was great. The Greek salad doesn't come with chicken but they added it for me. The salad was very large. I didn't try the ham sandwich but my boyfriend described it as awesome. I loved the quantity of feta cheese in my salad. The only disappointment was that both the chicken in my salad and in the chicken fingers were very dry and tasted slightly over cooked. Ordered for delivery for my job (co-workers) who had never ordered from here before. I informed them that this place had good food and service because my family and I have been loyal customers for over 15 years. Now my co-workers never want to have any dealings with this place ever again, due to the bad attitude and lack of direction from the delivery person to the manager. So after ordering and giving the necessary direction to a building you can't miss even if you wanted too, the driver went to the wrong location. After speaking to him several times to try to assist and give further direction, the driver then started to scream at me. He screamed at me until I told him to stop screaming at me. Then he says, "Ok. I will be there in two minutes". Mind you 10 minutes passed with no word from him. I then called the store back several times to speak to the manager to tell him my plight and he then stated that he doesn't want his customers to be upset, but then stated, I was over exaggerating when I canceled my ordered after standing outside for over 20 minutes on my lunch break waiting for the delivery guy to find where I was. I am very disappointed with the way I was spoken to by both men delivery driver and manager and they have potentially lost a loyal customer and I now understand why the delivery driver spoke to me in such a manner because the manager does the same. The old man owner is a rip off. I went to pick up my pizzas with a burger and fries and expected to pay a little over $45.00 for my order. I used the pricing that is on the website. When I went to pick up the order, the total was over $60.00. As soon as I questioned the amount the owner pointed to a hand written scribbled note that says "prices are subject to change". He was very quick to show me. I picked up a menu to look at that and he took the menu out of my hand and said "don't look at that". These menus are available in many areas of the restaurant. He said prices went up and he spent $2700.00 to print menus and he isn't going to get more. There is NO WHERE to be found on line or even in the restaurant that has his new prices. He seems to make them up as he goes about his day. The food was mediocre at best, nothing special. Certainly not worth over $60.00 for 2 regular pizzas, a plain burger and fries. I call his method of oricing bogus and he makes up prices on the spot and doesn't advertise any pricing you can trust. I get take out from Gennaro's all the time. Their double pepperoni pizza (Pepperoni Passion Plus) is thee BEST PIZZA IN PHILADELPHIA! The sandwiches are delicious also, like the Hot Grilled Reuben, even the BLT's are perfect! The staff is very friendly, I recommend Gennaro's to anyone who is hungry.
