Poor Americanized Mexican food serving mediocre (at best) tacos. Very heavy, greasy and cheap ingredients. We ended up with a $40 of food for couple of tacos and carne asada fries that were bland and soggy. Don't expect generous portions of meat or fish at all but a lot of bland lettuce and watery salsa. The rice was tasteless as well and the beans which were not even seasoned. This is not genuine Mexican food. Would not recommend unless you carve carbs and grease and are ready to pay for it. read more

The place is pretty good large variety of options today i got a variety of tacos 2 of each type and they did not disappoint. The ambiance is nice place is clean smells great prices are even better posted pictures of daily specials as well. I will try diffrent items from here moving forward and post them. Today however i took my tacos togo and even then they were still fresh and hot after my 15 min drive back from vista. The staff are freindly and helpful and you feel welcomed and that your buissness is wanted as well as appreciated. So until further notice this is a five star review flavors are on point salsa bar was clean and accessible i felt very confident the salsas in small batches are great idea keeps freshness. keep up the good work. I read the other reviews seems one sided not many have photos and the chicken dried photo could have been taken at any point. moral of the story try for yourself takes reviews with a pinch becasue some people have bad days. OH and i saw the cooking making everything fresh so no mricowave was used for my food lol. read more

We have more than our share of Mexican restaurants in Vista, of course. But there weren't a lot open on Christmas Eve when I got a craving for tamales. Mrs. Taco is a little different from the many, many -bertos and hole-in-the-mall Mexican places; I think they use a bit more Cotija cheese, and their entrees are well crafted and tasty, always good meat. The Christmas tamales were exactly what I wanted. I also enjoy their flautas, their carne asada, and the nacho plates. The staff is always friendly. There's a nice seating area inside when we're allowed to use it, and some seats outside near the endless Starbucks line. Always lots of parking! read more

Most places that serve Mexican cuisine at this price point are very americanized, bland, and mediocre - but not Mrs. Taco. My entree was plated up with just the right proportions of seasoning, sauces, and the extras that I asked for. My only criticism is the dining room layout, which is a bit narrow and awkward feeling if you want to dine in. This place has not the greatest reviews on here. This won't be a positive review but I'm not in favor of leaving a 1 star for any local family owned business. Let's start out with the fact that they don't give order numbers or take names so getting food is them yelling menu items in hopes someone is close enough to hear. The wait is long for food. The you g man working was nice. The older woman working did not seem friendly with the way she spoke to her staff. I felt uncomfortable. I also stood inside waiting and saw many styrofoam containers going into the microwave which didn't seem very fresh at all. The Fuego burrito my boyfriend liked but the fact that I saw someone not wearing a mask inside half the time scared me. The microwaved food containers turned me off. Our order was missing an item and we did get it bc they ran out across the parking lot to us. But I won't be back. It was $22 plus I tipped $2 for a burrito and a taco (very dry) plus Chile rellano (very watery). I felt like I could have spent less elsewhere to get better food and experience. Carne Asada fries were the worst I ever had in my life. The Asada was dry as hell damn near like beef jerky but, not as tasty. The Churro was thick as hell and taste like some kind of lard. Honestly our first time going to this place. I will say that my chorizo had beans on them and allot of eggs. I like mine simple, but then when we got the sauce.
