I go into the bakery to ask about ordering cakes for Thanksgiving. I was to told by the gentleman that works there daily to order one week before Thanksgiving. He appears to be annoyed and I felt as if I was bothing him. SoI called the week before Thanksgiving and he tells me that they are not taking any more orders. We've eaten here before and the food we had was down right disgusting. (chili cheese fries and some sort of fried fish plate) but this review is solely for their red velvet. We ALWAYS come back for that! Recently, my husband stopped by 3 times and called once and all those times they were sold out. So finally, this past weekend our siblings were in town and we drove over. I walked in and as soon as the guy seen my husband getting out of the car he instantly recognized him as the guy that kept stopping by for a slice but to no avail. They were also sold out that day but since he felt bad for my poor hubby, he magically produced 4 slices for us. HOW NiCE! This red velvet is THE TRUTH!! I mean honestly.. Just try a bite p.s. This spot is the most amazing fast food mom & pop shops/restaurant you can find across from McDonald's. I find this place a good deal for a big, filling meal versus a small portion you find at expensive restaurants. You don't need a big cup at McDonald's when you can have a soda. It is filling enough since most people waste their large sized cups & end up having a stale, flat soda sitting in their vehicle's cup holder. read more

Best red velvet cake and frosting. I live very far from Ms. Ruby's Bakery but I'll take the drive there. Order a cake with notice, I believe it is 24 hours notice. However, they sell by the slice. Good size portions. They also sell cupcakes, burgers, tacos and other food. It's a small place but we'll worth it for my family and I. Been going for years! read more

This is by far one of my faaaaaaavorite place in Inglewood to go to for a juice turkey burger combo with fries and my choice of drink for under $10. Freshly handmade everything, its r ran by one or two people but mostly just the owner, he's an awesome person and amazing customer service. As soon as he's done taking your order he immediately heads to the back and begins preparing your order. Wait time is no longer than 10 mins, the business is on a busy main street so there's only street parking although you can park across the street in the Mac Donald's parking lot. Wings were ok. The fries were not fresh. I would have preferred a bit more flavor with the burger meat.

Firstly, I love fries. I will go to a restaurant just to order fries (to go). I started ordering fries from this place about six months ago. They are made how i like them -- seasoned, steak cut (home fries), in a brown bag!! Yess!! I Love it!! Lol To be fair, the brown bag is inside of a larger white bag, but it's in there!! That's how they were served growing up, so I appreciate that. The restaurant is a hole in the wall spot, but aren't those usually the best spots!? Iean, lets be real. All-in-all, I highly recommend. Plus they have burgers, po'boy sandwiches, strawberry soda and meatless burgers (Beyond Meat). Good ole American dish options, with a southern flare (aka seasoned)! Yess!! read more

I'm really sad that I'm just finding this hidden gem less than a block away from my old apartment. There is no doubt in my mind that the baker knows how to whip up amazing cookies and cake. I would graciously without a doubt give this place a 5 star rating but I'm only giving this place a 3 star due to the lack of good customer service with the younger lady. The gentleman had to step in and answer my questions because he could tell that with every answer her attitude grew stronger. she obviously didn't like her job or felt bothered. If a customer is trying to ask "what's popular here." "What's your favorite item because I may be interested in trying it out." Your response shouldn't be. "I don't get it..." " well, what ever you're craving for. I don't know what you like..." I did appreciate the younger gentleman stepping in to save a paying customer. Anyways, The cookies are amazing. Heard about this place so tried it out. Had a great experience and amazing food. The shrimp po boy is amazing! Lot of big succulent shrimp and not greasy. Delicious. Let me say this...I hosted a fabulous Cupcake & Cocktails party. I ordered cupcakes from three different bakeries. Ms. Ruby's provided the red velvet and white cake cream cheese. I've had the red velvet cakes but not the cupcakes so I was alittle nervous. Initially I wasn't impressed with presentation but I quickly got over it remembering why I came here. Now Ms.Rubys is not Sprinkles, Georgetown or Susie it's BETTER!!! The visual presentation is not same but them cupcakes...BOMB!!! I have left over minis from the other two bakeries but Ms.Rubys regular size gone..finish... The cupcakes are also super fresh Ms.Ruby was baking them when I arrived ...always a plus! BEST RED VELVET CAKE EVER!!! I don't care who claims to have the best, she is the best. She sells to bbq joints and I found this place through them. As to the person that had a cold reception by an older lady I can attest to a 'cold' conversation I had with most likely the same person over the phone. The burgers and fries are yum....but...My order was wrong. We ate what they gave us anyway, which was yummy; but it wasn't what we asked for....LOL. I didn't want to give back the burgers cause then I would have to wait for new ones to be made, then the rest of my food would have gotten cold. I'd rather for an establishment to make sure an order is correct the first time. Almost didn't stop here because people were hanging out next door. Not good for a legit business. The only reason I noticed this place is because it's got my name. After I yelped it I decided to give it a try. The first time I tried to go I called and they were out. The second time I got lucky. Best.red.velvet.ever! I'm not big on sweets, especially cake since it's either too dry or too sweet and this was just perfect. Moist, not too sweet, homemade. Best part? I got the bacon cheeseburger, the meat was ok, but the bacon was under cooked. The price is good and it was done in a satisfying amount of time. I also got the Sock-it-to-me cake and that was awful.
