Today I went to the Mt. Vernon Sunoco to have my emissions testing done. There was a car in the bay already so I pulled up to where it was indicated to get in line. I waited about 15 min and a man who had been working on the car in the bay, walks out toward me and yanks the handle of my car to open it very rudely & aggressively. He couldn't open it because it was locked but my window was down and he says very rudely to me "You need to hurry up people are waiting!" I'm floored... no one has spoken to me since I've been waiting, so for this to be our first exchange was just bizarre to me. I told him that no one has spoken to me yet or told me I was next.... I open the door to get out and he rushes into my car... still hasn't spoken to me in a way you would a customer... and pulls my car forward into the bay. I was literally standing there with my mouth open. I wasn't told what to expect, how long it would take... NOTHING! Steve, I believe you are the owner & the one I'm referring to. Rude doesn't even describe your actions today. I was shaking when I drove off honestly because I just couldn't believe that anyone, let alone a woman would be treated this way. I drive by here all the time and they always seem to have the lowest gas prices how long route one. It's been a few years now since I decided to get my car inspected there and I'm glad that I did, they are always friendly faces, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and trying to help you out, especially that tall state inspector guy...I think a couple of them might actually be brothers. I have lived in Alexandria for over 15 years. Have been to this business for inspections for many years. I have always thought that these 2 guys had a fair business going. Not till today after having bad customer service and disrespectful people. Steve the sole called owner doesn't know how to speak to customers. He was very rude. I was trying to explain to him why was my inspection rejected over something so small. Not because there was a problem with my car but because I have clear covers on my tags and my tints. I have a medical form that states I can have it. Instead of him asking me to show him. he rejected my car. so I when to another inspection. showed the gentleman my info online because I didn't have the printout and passed my inspection. talking to Steve was a waste of time. He doesn't listen and pretty much made me feel that because I'm a female Hispanic and his american I mean nothing. I will never do business with there again. read more

very bad experience with those idiot mechanic i brought my car for state inspection at 4:00 pm mechanic told to me come back in the morning beacuse the battery is losses and need to be tight up, and one of the head had is moisture when I came back at 8:00am he told me to comeback in one hour when I went back in one hour he said comeback at 4:00 pm. man they are such a Dememt I hate the people playing game. read more

The staff is friendly and my mechanic, John D is honest and did a phenomenal job on my vehicles last month with the repairs I needed on my Jeep, Tundra and Honda Accord. The quality of work is bottom line, OUTSTANDING!!! He assessed the repairs needed, communicated the costs and did all the work in an efficient manner. CAR OWNERS BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!! This is my last time coming here I have been trying and trying to give them chance after chance to redeem them self's but when the owner charges for air and then takes air out i question what his motives are. It's a brand new truck and I'm a guy just imagine what women go threw with a used car,FYI under inflation causes premature tire wear aka back to get new tires before you should. And to make it worse I paid for free air because there free machine wouldn't go above 50psi and my truck states I need 75 all around. read more

I have been a customer for many years. Being single it is best for me to go to a repair garage within walking distance. That way I can drop off my vehicle and walk home. Mt Vernon Sunoco is about 1 mile from my home. They did work on my sons 2005 Chevrolet Equinox. The brake system has not been maintained the right way. They brought in the vehicle and diagnosed the brake issues. My son was told before by another mechanic his car needed new rotors for the front brakes. It needed new rotors for the front and new drums for the back (They were the ones from 2005). It also needed a new master cylinder and brake bleeding. Basically an almost new system all the way around. There were new pads by a friend of the family, an out of work mechanic working at home. I am glad that I was recommended to go here by a family member that lived in the area. I have been trusting them with my vehicles for 5 years now and they have always been honest and to the point. Everytime I go in, unsure of the problem, they get the right problem fixed every time. They have always been the best value for service and even though I now live approx. 30 miles from them, I still take my car there before anywhere else could imagine seeing me. The previous posters are correct, Rafael and John both are standout guys that don't take advantage of customers. They have fixed various problems from my Dodge Durango, Dodge Ram, and Cadillac DTS. This place is a rip-off. I took my car in for an inspection and was told that I needed a new axle. $400 later, I left with a car shaking so hard I could barely drive. I went straight to my mechanic and was told I needed the same axles replaced. The only reason I gave them one star is because Yelp won't allow ZERO STARS. read more

Rafeal Naradiaga and John Davis are guys you will swear by, not at (like the sign up the highway says.) I have a Land Rover, and always take my car to them bcs even with the warranty I pay of the wazoo. After Land Rover tells me whats wrong, I go to them to double check, usually nothings wrong, its bogus up-charges from the dealership. They can order and pick up parts for any car and I trust them with the safety of myself and my child. I don't feel like they try to over-sell me. And they are quick and most importantly honest. I feel like I should tip them, or bake them cookies. I saw a woman bring cookies in for them one time, and thought man, that says something. :D YAY SUNOCO, for saving me thousands, and helping me actually afford my Land Rover. Love you guys! read more

Customer service and politeness ceases to exist after 6:00 pm when the owner leaves. Several of the employees are very rude and curt with customers. The mechanics seem to spend more time on the phone then working on customer vehicles. read more
