I had a random taco craving, and Muchacho fulfilled it! Location and Parking Located in West Midtown, Muchacho features free parking. The parking lot is small, but ANY free parking in Midtown is a blessing! Venue and Atmosphere Muchacho is colorful, warm, and welcoming, featuring a huge patio and plenty of indoor seating, as well as clean and colorful restrooms. Service Service was prompt, courteous, and efficient. Order at the counter, take a number, and food will be delivered to your table. Food and Beverages The dip trio, ceviche, and al pastor tacos were DELICIOUS! It's hard to find good ceviche on the mainland so congrats to Muchacho for achieving such a feat. The margaritas were strong, sweet, and got me where I needed to go on a Tuesday. Finally, the freshly deep fried churros were the perfect sweet treat to end the meal. Georgia Tech and West Midtown just had a new, fun, and affordable place serving Cali-Mex food! Before opeing this branch, Muchacho had another spot in Reynoldstown. What made the restaurant "unique" is that it combines Cali-Mex style with the concept of American Diner -- from food to the vibe. Opening early, you can have a wide variety of dishes in the morning -- not just the eggs, but also bowls, salads, burritos, overnight oats... All with a Mexican twist. I tried Baby Gem Salad and it was good. Moreover, these breakfast items are sold until 3pm. So it is also great for brunch. My friends and I had a meal there at lunchtime. I got the Migas taco, Carne Asada taco, Cauliflower Al Pastor taco and Corn Ribs. I never imagined mixing fried tortilla and eggs and wrap them in a taco, but it worked well. The Carne Asada could be more juicer. The Cauliflower Al Pastor was my favorite. The Corn Ribs were smoky and juicy. My friend got the Birria Verde Quesadilla. It looked amazing. I tried the jus and it was super rich. Would be glad to try more dishes in the future, after all it is so close to the campus! read more

Popped in one Monday afternoon--they have $6 margs all day, btw! It was pretty early so parking was a cinch. The bartender was cool and even gave me an extra glass of water when I mentioned I was heading back to work haha (I work from home, so there's no drinking on the job!) My baja fish taco was good. I tried this new location since I love the OG, and I was impressed with the size of it! It still has the classic retro Muchacho vibe, and the workers here are super sweet! Also, the bartenders accidentally made extra drinks and offered them to our friends, which was awesome! I ordered an Al Pastor taco and I tried a bite of their Birria Verde Quesadilla. The taco was well made with the meat being perfectly cooked and all of the ingredients balanced each other out. I was disappointed with the quesadilla, however, since I'm obsessed with the one made in the OG location--the meat was really dry, making it hard to swallow and the console wasn't as seasoned as it should be. Hopefully, they're just working out the kinks at this new location since that dish is typically a hit. read more

A really cool retro vibe Mexican restaurant in a good part of ATL! We were looking to go somewhere for lunch, and when we saw the sign for this place, we immediately pulled in. The name, Muchacho, and the colors of the sign caught our eye immediately. When you walk in, you order at the counter. The menu is somewhat limited and offers taco, burritos, salads and bowls. To me, the prices were a little high, but the decor in the restaurant and the ambiance seemed to make up for it. I got the chicken burrito which was supposed to come with fries. However, they were out of fries, so I got the cilantro lime rice inside. After we ordered, they gave us a number and told us our food would be brought to us. Because it was a beautiful day, we sat outside. My brother got a cocktail, a spicy on the rocks margarita type, and it was too spicy for me. Our food came out not too long after we sat, and it was really good! My burrito was perfect to eat and I got all of the flavors in one bite. It was nice and warm, so I could tell they just made it! The cilantro like rice was also good! The decor was on point. Very retro and modern with an airy vibe from all the windows and doors that were open. Came here for muchacho fest. We were early so it was really chill but it was nice to get a few drinks before the 404 day crowds began. The staff was really nice and the location was really walkable. Looking forward to coming back. read more

The new Muchacho is awesome. I absolutely love this spot. It's super similar to the other location, just a new layout. Everyone that works there is SO friendly!! I think it's a great place to work or grab a bite with a friend. They also have great tacos and margaritas if you wanna go for a late night bite! I bet this will be a big hit for GT kids! Parking: Very small lot! There's probably some street parking around if needed. read more

I am so sorry they finally opened up this location closer to Georgia Tech. The original location is amazing and I am excited to have this option closer to Midtown. We came on a Saturday night and we're easily got a big table for our big party. The staff was super nice and made sure to check up on us. I got a Carne Asada burrito some fries and some chips to share with a friend and everything was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and I look forward to coming back and trying their coffee vibes are great. We sat inside, but look forward to trying their patio and sitting here during the summertime. read more

I'm in the ATL for my b'day so I wanted sumthing quick and near my AirBnB so this place fit the bill. Love love love the decor. The orange lighting rocks, the nostalgia momentos rule. A lady greeted me + my guest upon entering. We placed our order then selected where we wanted to sit which was a booth. Before eating I needed to wash my hands. They have 5...yes 5 washrooms for u to use. I went to #1 hence who I am....lol. Love the nostalgia wallpaper, I wanted to steal the hand soap....smells too good. No toilet paper tho. Chips, salsa and guac came which was good. Salsa wasn't too spicy. The food came out minutes later. I ordered the shrimp burrito which was tasty. The guac was good. The cilantro rice is a no-no. Taste like one of those Uncle Ben's pre packed rice. Music was different which I liked. Most of the staff spoke throughout our time there. Definitely a cute spot. read more

Carne asada burrito with fries inside, like a Cali burrito? YES PLEASE! Muchacho is one of my new favs in midtown for Mexican food. The burritos, Corn ribs, pastor tacos, and guac all are really solid. Is it the most authentic or traditional... No. But it is not trying to be anything other than itself. The interior design is cool. Great place for lunch or daytime dates! Service has been pretty good. Only thing I would pass on were the Auga Frescas. The two I tried were mid at best. Felt watered down. I give it a 4.5! And I am a tough critic when it comes to food. read more

This place would 100% be 5 stars from me if not for the prices and the parking situation...but otherwise the food is fantastic and service was quick. Our first time in was a really great experience and the atmosphere is this really neat vibe of retro modern. But 7.5 dollars for the tiniest bowl of queso you've ever seen is a little steep, even for midtown, especially with both Rreal taco and La Parilla being within a short drive of here. The tacos were also a little expensive (but very delicious) for their size as well. While it's possible to escape this place without spending an arm and a leg, you'd do so with a single taco and a water. read more

Love to see this place expanding! Delicious food, drinks, and coffees. The staff is incredibly friendly, service is pretty quick, and they are very diligent with allergies/preferences! The restaurant is clean both inside and outside and the atmosphere is welcoming. The prices are a little expensive but that is my only gripe. read more

My experience was absolutely amazing. My server was Rae and she had a lot of stuff going on but still managed to check on me regularly and stop for conversations when she could . We will be coming back to see her again . To top it off the food came out fast and tasted wonderful. read more

I live in this neighborhood and was hesitant when I found out what was coming, but I've already been a few times and I love it! Frank and Claire are awesome and everybody else that I interacted with was pretty nice, too. The tacos I had were great. That Blood Orange margarita was delicious. And the harvest bowl I had was one of the cleanest, most refreshing things I've had to eat all year. I'm looking forward to supporting them more and enjoying a cool environment this summer. read more
