Greeted by my new amigos, where they live by the mantra "mi casa es us casa". Most people apre ski, but the locals KNOW you need to apre taco. The Birria tacos changed my life. Do they cure sickness? Maybe, I'm not sick so I can't comment on that. But here's the thing, some things in life are worth having twice. And if you get 2 orders of Birria tacos that's 6 tacos. If you asked me if I could eat one thing for the rest of my life it might be this. If I had to fill my hot tub with anything other than water, would I fill it with the consommé? 7/10 yes. My husband and I really recommend this place!! We usually stay at a timeshare and cook. This time we stayed at a place near by and decided we are going to try different places to eat where the locals go. We were craving Mexican food, beer, good margs and some good Bloody Mary. We love everything about Muchachos Cucina Y Cantina! We had a small dog with us. The server was welcome, sweet and prompt. She allowed us to have our dog with us out in patio. They had working powerful patio heaters. It helped because it was 40 degrees out. The food was good! We ordered 3 taquitos, rice, beans, carne asada fries, chips and salsa, beer and a strong delicious Bloody Mary. We loved the vibe was amazing. They had live music. I didn't get the singers name. He can sing. It was relaxing and chill. Nothing out of control and obnoxious. Between the food, the vibe and the servers we were happy! I was surprised by the food quality. It looks like a bar that happens to "oh by the way" have tacos but actually they have great food. I had the Birria Tacos and I was kind of blown away. The tacos were quite good and the consomme was beefy and delicious. The bartender seemed at first to be a little aloof but when he found out I wasn't 100% excited about my margherita he went into problem-solving mode and it was clear he was going to do whatever it would take to make me happy. I will absolutely be back and if you're in Big Bear this weekend you should absolutely check Muchaco's out. read more

Stopped in here for a quick drink. The sign outsides states that they have the best margarita's in Town. I tried a cucumber and jalapeno margarita (freshly muddled). FANTASTIC. Not spicy but flavorful. I got the rim with salt, but there was Tajín and something that looked like tamarind (I believe) as other choices. Wife had a Modelo Negra draft--perfect temperature. Big bear local here. Remembered them having good food in the past so I ordered on door dash. Fajitas with shrimp steak chicken, $30. Asked for chips since I got it to go, "we don't give chips out". Asked for all rice no beans and no cilantro, didn't get that either. They were ok/ and also didn't ask for flour or corn tortilla, was given corn and I don't like corn... honestly I am getting sick of places in big bear losing authenticity bc of tourists. That "best margaritas" sign needs to be revoked. I'm sorry.....I don't know if it was the wrong bartender or what, but holy moly....just no. My whole esophagus burned from all the bitter lime juice...we didn't even finish the drinks and decided against ordering food. Kids enjoyed the chips. The place is nice and clean The customer service was awesome, but unfortunately it was too pricy $$$$$ the flavors were bland for our taste. Been waiting a while to write this review. Came here a couple of months ago while on vacation with my family. The restaurant we wanted to go to didn't have takeout so we came here. We waited about 10-15 minutes for the cook who had just arrived, to get ready. Then we ordered a couple of burritos and some tacos to go. We wait another 20 minutes and get our food. We are sure that it's going to be delicious because the place looks authentic. Well... When we get back to our cabin, we open up what looks like DOG FOOD. The beans are pale brown. Then burritos look like they were steamed. The rice was dry like it just came out the fridge and the meat was COLD!!!!!! We bought three meals and each of the meals looked vomit-inducing!! I paid around $50.00!!!!!! I called the restaurant to complain that the we got probably weeks old food that was cold and dry and nasty and was told the manager would call me back. I never got a call. They over pour there drinks, the food was cold, the elote was straight from a can, and they have ZERO knowledge on how food should be handled ESPECIALLY during a pandemic. If you know what good Mexican food is I wouldn't come here. I ordered the fajitas and everything was not good and not seasoned at all . let alone the guacamole sour crème and the pico is extra on the side. The stables for the fajita. Even the red and green salsas are 3dollars. They give those away at any taco shop. Cons: Asked for a Skinny Margarita. (2 oz Tequila, 1 oz lime ,1/2 ounce agave) Don't think the server or bartender understood what that was because that was not what I got. I drank it to avoid wasting. The late might food menu was a HUGE NO BUENO. It was skimpy, cold and lacked salt/flavor. The decor was your average trendy Mexican icons like the Dia de Los Muertos skull, mustache and Mexican tile....the loud music definitely brought what felt like a late night college party crowd in. I'm super bummed because I love supporting local and will be running an Airbnb soon and wanted to recommend this place but....that will be a hard no. Wonderful! Great! AMAZING! Would be the words to describe our whole experience at this restaurant. Our waitresses name was Cristal or Christine! My favorite spot in Big Bear. I came in with my group of friends May 14th the food was great, the drinks are amazing and the staff is Fantastic. We liked it so much we came back the next day! Juice (bar manager) and Markayla (assistant) did an amazing job. They are so fun, knowledgeable and attentive and hilarious. This place was the highlight of our trip. Went into here last night and had such a wonderful experience! Justin was so friendly and helpful since this was our first time there... He explained all the different beers he had on tap and went over the menu and answered our questions! Their chips and salsa are amazing! The chips are fresh and light and feel like they just came right out of the oven. The owners (husband and wife) were so sweet and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. In San Diego we have delicious Mexican food but this place put a creative twist on their dishes and everything we had was incredible! The chillequilles wings were some of the best wings I had.
