Came here in November and It was awesome . I raved about It to my friends and we came back today very excited to have micheladas. I'm a big michelada girl so I was very disappointed when I received a very underwhelming one ( it was actually awful ) I am not sure if there was a change in ownership but previously, my michelada came in a schooner , had a tamarindo stick and saladito and the mix was great. Today our miches came in a pint and It tasted like It was just Clamato and beer. For almost $12 It was a waste of our money. It was really empty when we arrived and I wanted the menudo to which they accommodated for me since it was already 3 something pm. So stars for that part. It was really good, the tortillas were typical microwaved and the caldo specifically was bomb. It almost felt like pozole with the tiny bits of the pansa which is my favorite part but it could have been cause it was past breakfast? We ordered the spiked cafe de olla which was so strong nothing special, I imagined a reinvented drink with something to remember it by but not at all. I was offered another drink and got a mango margarita. It claims to be the best margaritas in town, I'll tell you right now, they are not. Or big bear have really unskilled bartenders because the social lounge did not make up for it either. It was sooo strong and I barely tasted the mango concentrate that was added lol I had to ask for a sprite on the side to fix it myself. There was an Australian couple next to us and when she asked how were the drinks they said "they alright" and she didn't know what to say which cracked me up and it got us talking about how bad the margaritas were. I get trying to hook us up with some strong drinks but I wasn't even enjoying it at that point. They did turn on the heater outside for us which was really nice and I enjoyed seeing the loteria art on the wall. The drinks sucked. Oh yeah and the salsa for the chips was so bland ! The Jack in the box is better. Nachos are dry. Drinks were questionable. The sauces have no flavor. They claim to be an authentic restaurant Taco Bell is more authentic than this. Saw the "Best Margarita's in Town" sign and had to go in! Once we walked in, everyone was super friendly and attenuative. We were immediately told we could sit where ever we liked and followed up with a friendly server and some menu's. Of course, I got a margarita. But not an original, the T-Paige which was off the hook. Perfect blend of flavors. Not overly sweet or sour, and definitely not lacking in the alcohol department one bit. Got home to find out one entrees was missing the rice and beans and nearly all the limes were several days old (brown edges is beginning of mold). Great food and amazing drinks! The tequila habanero sauce is amazing, the loaded fries were great! All the sauces and salsa are great as well. Hands down once of the best places around. Dropped by this place a few days after the grand opening and inquired about any vegan options. Was told they had stuff that was off the menu that they could put together by request. So last weekend decided to drop by and try these potential offerings. Server informed me they could do a "steak" fajita and a soyrizo taco plate. So, opted to give them both a spin. The fajitas were super tasty, just wish the "steak" had a bit more char for even better texture but great flavors light up the plate. Now the soyrizo tacos were basically filled with just that but were occupied by fresh topped veggies and mouth watering homemade tortillas. Overall, the fajitas were the star of this meal and I left extremely full that day. This place has a great vibe and the services was the best I have ever received at any establishment on planet earth. Server was super helpful, really provided all the answers and stellar recommendations. Note to fellow vegans: Beans and rice are not vegan. Vegan items not listed on the menu. The place was a bit pricey, but you do receive great service, fresh ingredients and large portions. On a girls trip and we went here tonight for a quick dinner. The tacos and enchiladas were delicious, Carlos, our server was fantastic and it was a really enjoyable meal. Margaritas are good. Food is unsatisfying. I got a carne asada mulitas and shrimp tacos. The militias were really a lack luster quesadilla and nearly inedible, my husband ate them for me. The shrimp tacos were ok, the tortillas needed to be cooked and they could have used some more seasoning. Our first time visit to big bear. We were told this place was good. Sadly, after one hour looking for parking... got to the restaurant all tables dirty. The sign says Best Margaritas in Town and they are not exaggerating! They taste fresh and delicious and their salsa and chips are amazing. Tyler, the owner, told us it's his grandma's salsa recipe and it is fresh and incredible. We came back two days in a row for their salsa and margaritas and had amazing service both days with nice outdoor seating. We will definitely return when we are in town again. read more

Maybe, I'm not sick so I can't comment on that. But here's the thing, some things in life are worth having twice. And if you get 2 orders of Birria tacos that's 6 tacos. If you asked me if I could eat one thing for the rest of my life it might be this. If I had to fill my hot tub with anything other than water, would I fill it with the consommé? 7/10 yes. My husband and I really recommend this place!! We usually stay at a timeshare and cook. This time we stayed at a place near by and decided we are going to try different places to eat where the locals go. We were craving Mexican food, beer, good margs and some good Bloody Mary. We love everything about Muchachos Cucina Y Cantina! We had a small dog with us. The server was welcome, sweet and prompt. She allowed us to have our dog with us out in patio. They had working powerful patio heaters. It helped because it was 40 degrees out. The food was good! We ordered 3 taquitos, rice, beans, carne asada fries, chips and salsa, beer and a strong delicious Bloody Mary. We loved the vibe was amazing. They had live music. I didn't get the singers name. He can sing. It was relaxing and chill. Nothing out of control and obnoxious. Between the food, the vibe and the servers we were happy! I was surprised by the food quality. It looks like a bar that happens to "oh by the way" have tacos but actually they have great food. I had the Birria Tacos and I was kind of blown away. The tacos were quite good and the consomme was beefy and delicious. The bartender seemed at first to be a little aloof but when he found out I wasn't 100% excited about my margherita he went into problem-solving mode and it was clear he was going to do whatever it would take to make me happy. I will absolutely be back and if you're in Big Bear this weekend you should absolutely check Muchaco's out. read more
