Tasty fajitas and great drinks, and they allowed our pupper to sit with us and great decor. We really enjoyed their welcoming nature, Big Bear on weekend is weird for a better term. No reservations and no take out, and in the spring time they shut down their patios randomly. For a struggling industry you would b surprised to see this attitude as the pandemic winds down. Walked by this bar looking for a good place to eat in big bear. The way it was decorated was some white washed, gentrified version of an authentic Mexican cantina. The woman behind the bar who took our order was very blunt, did not have good customer service and did not have a mask when attending costumers. When the doors to the kitchen opened you can see that the kitchen staff didn't have masks either ! The food was also cold, bland and tasteless. Customers walked in without masks and were not asked to wear one. The bar was at full capacity with all stalls full as well, no physical distancing at all. Do not come here! read more

Talked a few others into joining us for our first visit to Muchachos and we were all disappointed, especially after reading several good reviews. A very limited menu. The food is not your traditional Mexican fare so we expected some great flavors from all our dishes. The beans were bland and dry, and not piping hot. Chile verde had six (6) small cubes of pork swimming in the sauce. The chicken taquitos were good but c'mon... they could have removed the toothpicks! A house margarita was $11 and it was a little too sour. Service could use some improvement and a little professionalism will go a long way. Very slow from beginning to end, with the food arriving in two deliveries 5-6 minutes apart. P.S. per their menu, rice and beans are served with all entrees. We are first time Big Bear goers and Muchachos came highly recommended to us by friends who have a place here. We are so happy we came! Owner Tyler is so passionate and attentive. The food is amazing. I feel like I'm eating authentic tacos straight from Abuelita's kitchen. You can tell that Tyler's food is made with passion and love, and in fact from his Abuela's recipes. We have a few more days here and I think we will come back every day. We sat on his adorable patio with our dog. We love his indoor outdoor feel. One last thing...the margaritas really are the best in town. I'm still looking for the fish in my bowl! read more

Ordered the carne asada fries for takeout last night and couldn't have been more disappointed. Not sure about everyone else but I expect carne asada on my CARNE ASADA fries - not chicken. Absolutely fuming that they had the wherewithal to let the group AFTER us know that there was no carne asada left but not us. We assumed that we had gotten the last bit that was left but nope, didn't even bother to mention that we were getting chicken for carne price. Fish tacos have no flavor whatsoever. The crema sauce is just mayo and the breading on the fish might as well be nonexistent because it adds nothing but empty calories. The rice that came with the fish tacos also had uncooked grains in the pile. The server was so nice and accommodating too which led me to believe this would be a good meal but I couldn't have been more wrong. They might have the best carne asada I've ever had in a taco/burrito. The salsa was amazing. Even my kids chicken tenders were better than most places. I wasn't a huge fan of my margarita but I am very picky. They didn't skimp on alcohol at all though. Really good place, highly recommend. read more

The food was great! Only thing is they didn't give us silverware. We had to wait a really long time and the part of the food we needed silverware for was cold when we got the silverware. Other than that it was really good service even tho it was really busy. It was pretty cold they had the garage door at the front of the restaurant open. Put all that aside it is well worth the food.
