Seeing that there was a bar and grill right by my hotel I figured with all the reviews that this place was worth checking out. I came here during the football night just to see what this place was like. They had a light food menu since they were showing down the kitchen a bit early so it was mainly appetizers no biggie on my part. Their food menu was atrociously overpriced. Like $9 for a plate of fries and there's nothing special about them . Apparently they had a beer special too so i was excited about that. I had some non-alcoholic beer that was featured which is a great thing for them to have. I didn't realize that when I got my check that each drink was $9 each which is the most I've ever paid for a non-alcoholic beverage regardless if it was on a special or not this is like Los Angeles, California pricing! This is just a typical Bar and Grill establishment and I personally think there's no reason for them to be charging these astronomical prices. They do get Stars for having very nice service and a clean establishment with modest restrooms. There's plenty of parking with easy access to the streets. Complete false advertising. 2 for 1s all day everyday. Nowhere in the county (Scott County) do they charge $11 for a carbliss, $7.50 for a beer! They charge full price or very close for 2 drinks, not to mention force you to get both at the same time. So they are literally forcing you to drink more for no discount! read more

Good boneless wings and cheese curds. I come here fairly often with my cousin! I tried the bone in wings and they made me very SICK! I do not have a weak stomach, I do not recommend trying those. The buffalo and honey sriracha sauces are very tasty. Waitstaff is very attentive. Plenty of televisions with prime time games on. Going during Vikings game is a guaranteed good time. We have always loved the food at Muddy Cow, but found the service was not great so stopped going there for some time, but were drawn back for the food and so glad we were. My husband and I are now regulars at the Muddy Cow. The place has a much cleaner feel then it had in the past and the service has been amazing. We especially want to call out Sara, one of the bartenders for her outstanding service. She remembers us when we come in, what we drink, keeps my water glass full, etc... My husband loves wraps and he claims they have the BEST Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap he has ever had. As in the name, it has bacon, a lot of chicken ranch or chicken caesar wraps don't include bacon. It a perfect combination of sauce and the other ingredients. I usually get the Rodeo Cow Burger, it is amazing. Bacon, BBQ and a huge onion ring. If I am not in the mood for a burger I get a Rachel, it is not on the menu, but they are always willing make the substitution as they do have a Reuben on the menu. When I am in the mood for a salad I love the Chopped Salad, again it is fresh, a generous size and comes with a warm breadstick. On Mondays, the Muddy Cow offer 1/2 price burgers, on all of the burgers on the menu, not just a few of them. They also offers 2 for 1's all day along with other specials throughout the week. Muddy Cow Shakopee has a very large menu and the portion sizes are very generous. Our food has always arrived hot and tastes fresh. It is a large restaurant with an open layout. I often see medium to large groups there or families with kids, and have never found the noise level to be disruptive. We normally sit at the bar, but if we are with others we will sit at a table, I appreciate that the tables are not on top of each other. read more

Dude, this place was great! (What's with the low reviews?) We're talking genuinely unique offerings on the appetizer menu like walleye sliders, whiskey-glazed pot stickers, poutine tater tots, duck wantons, and more. I'm used to always skipping appetizers because they're so boring and the same no matter where you go, so this was exciting to try something new! My friend had brought me here to treat me; we sat at the bar and got a couple of the appetizers, both of which were really delicious. The appetizer menu actually takes up more room on the menu than the main courses do, haha. We also got drinks. I didn't specifically have a drink in mind, so I requested the bartender Ryan make me something "fruity, girly, and sweet" and he made an awesome Electric Lemonade with vodka that I could scarcely taste the alcohol, yet was quite effective in giving me a pleasant buzz. Niiice. Ryan was pretty good at juggling our needs with everyone else, as there were a lot of folks at the bar vying for his attention. The door to the entrance says that they ID but uhh... we weren't. You can decide if this is a good or bad thing, lol. Service was neither fast nor slow, imo. We ordered takeout from Muddy Cow. Everything was packaged well and the food was still hot when we got home. My boyfriend said the food was ready right on time and he didn't have to wait at all. We ordered Chicken Wings, the American poutine, and a Yum Yum burger with dilly fries. The wings were great. I loved their blackberry sauce and the pickle seasoning was very unique. The poutine was delicious! Tons of meat on top and a good amount of curds. I ordered my burger pink but it was very well done so I'm not sure if I'd order the burger again but the yum yum sauce was pretty good and the dilly fries were really tasty! We frequent the Cow on a monthly basis. The food is always good - I've had a couple of different items - burgers are tasty (get the dilly fries); chopped salad is also good; and the bone in "spicy dill pickle" wings are awesome. I want to try their pizza but they go BOGO on pizza and there's no way my family would eat two. I like the ambiance of the place; really appreciated when they added shade to the back booth windows as before when the sun got in it would be awful to sit there. I also wish the hotel would do something with that shoddy courtyard in the back as well - it's not the restaurant's fault but it doesn't make for a good view. I see a lot of reviews complaining about service but I've never really had bad service. Most servers are friendly; I think at most maybe one time I had one that was having an off day. My last experience on the whole was not super great, though. I ordered some spicy dill pickle wings and what was presented to me were just regular dry rub. I notified my server, who was very apologetic and offered to have them re-made. Batch 2 came out and they were again the dry rub, not dill pickle. I notified server again they were wrong. He offered to have them re-made again but I didn't want to keep wasting wings or the cook team's time. So I just kept them and ate them. The server did comp me for the wings, which I appreciated. Muddy Cow??? More like Prize Heifer because this place deserves awards! Came here starving after a day at Valley Fair, and they cured my hunger like a couple tums cure heartburn: instant relief. Seriously though, the boneless chicken wings are juicy on the inside with a crisp exterior. The muddy chicken dry rub is a chef's secret they should hold near and dear. Next time I'm gonna have them sprinkle some on my fries. Speaking of their fries: they're awesome!! I think "beer battered" is what they're called. My wife and her friends were here after the craft fair (11-12-22) at Canterbury Park and didn't see their waiter for 30 minutes after getting their drinks. They brought it to the managers attention and he said "I don't believe you, it's busy... can't you see that?" While staying at the adjoining hotel it was absolutely necessary to check out the Muddy Cow. I saw that it's always buy one get free for drinks and even though it seems the price for one is a little steeper than other places you still get two for that price. Noice! The food is pretty good, I've tried the blueberry sauced wings (no heat even though it says they're supposed to be hot), cheese curds, two different burgers, and the prime rib dip. The best out of all those was the prime rib dip which is like a French dip but the meat is way better. The service has been great but I'm not too comfortable and feel out of place with the other customers. I'm not from the area and everyone around seem to not be my crowd. The Muddy Cow is a sup par restaurant. This is our fourth time here and it hasn't really convinced us, something about this place just feels bare and empty. The bar area is nice, big tv's and lots of choices, but everywhere else seems like it was just added on. The servers aren't very personable and only come around now and then, our server almost walked out with our money when we asked for change back. The food is alright, the chicken is actually good, but everything else is basic. I ordered the Mac and cheese before and it tasted like mush, never took it home. There are just minor things that catch your eye when you're here: open wall outlets, a huge gap in the bathroom between the door and wall, bare walls, nothing is special here. This place does have an outdoor area, but thanks to Minnesota weather it's never open... I separated this review to empathize this part, I would give this place 3/5 stars, but this is why they lost a star, the horrible booth seats! They're falling apart, actually. I thought the area was under construction until three different parties were sat in them, all with odd looks on their faces. While the caesar salad was ok the burger was a complete let down. Literally one noodle of mac and cheese was on the burger. The 2 burger patties were not staked on top of each other and the cheese was already hardened enough that I couldnt re-arrange them. I didnt see sriracha anywhere on the burger, im positive they forgot it and the pieces of bacon were also strewn about. It only took me 5 minutes to get to my destination and the food was luke warm. Nothing flavor wise about the burger was special. Overall a poor experience and I do not plan on patronizing this restaraunt again. read more

Stopped here for dinner since it was close to the hotel and recommended by the front desk employee. Not a bad place. It would be a great place to hang out for a big game. It was quiet during my visit. I tried the What What sandwich which was grilled chicken, fried egg, bacon, pepper Jack cheese, and chipotle Mayo. I have to admit I've never heard of a sandwich with both chicken and egg on it. Sounded interesting enough so I gave it a try. It worked well together surprisingly. Slightly over cooked with the chicken being a little dry and the cheese being more crisp than melty. The seasoned fries were hot, fresh, and tasty. This place's claim to fame was that they have 2 for 1 drinks all day, every day, any drink. I'm sure that is a huge draw on a regular basis. Overall, it was a good visit. Went to Muddy Cow for dinner on Sunday night. There was a total of 4 of us seated at a table. The place was not busy at all. Took 20 minutes for an appetizer, and it took even longer for our meal. Several larger parties next to us that came in after us got their food before us. Our waitress was nice but not attentive to our table. I bought these orders to go and have zero regrets. I have never had softer and more tender boneless wings in my entire life. These were the softest wings ever. Extremely light breading. The sauce melts into your mouth and so does the chicken. It still feels like authentic real chicken however they're so well made and so easy to eat! Let me not get started on the ranch ... oh lawd... the burger patty was very flavorful and the fries were crispy but not oily. Ordering out was a piece of cake. We had lunch on the patio today.. The good news is our food was good and our server did a good job. The bad news is there was an unleashed dog named Rico wandering around on the patio. We overheard one of the servers telling customers it was her families dog. We saw him poop on the wood-chipped area on the patio, nobody cleaned it up. The dog went from table to table and the owners response was to just shove him away. While he was a very nice dog, and we are dog owners ourselves, we don't enjoy eating out and having to deal with somebody else's dog. read more
