Great time having pints and flights with my sons. All the beers were great. Also really enjoyed the live entertainment.

They once did whole chicken which was pretty perfect outside on the old patio. Pretty much impossible to undercook something you smoked for hours but very easy to dry it out, and it was great. Actually brought the whole fam there that day including our dog. It's petfriendly outside. They have three main beers that you can always get, and then about another 3 beers or so of rotating and experimental beers/ciders. If you want to get an idea of the staff this is from my first visit there a few years back. I actually think this was towards the beginning of Covid. We had to get out of dodge and enjoy some relaxation by the lake. When we showed up everywhere we drove by the spots we normally frequented and everywhere was closed, sometime near 8 pm. We did a search and found that here was open and headed over as fast as we could to try to get something to eat. Unfortunately the grill just closed, and we resigned ourselves to a liquid dinner. The chef then pokes his head out and offers to make a pretzel for us, and we could not have been happier. It was a big one too. The staff was just so welcoming and seemingly very happy that we were there... which is not always the case in the general area... that Burnt Timber became one of our usual spots instantly. Each time we've been back it has always been that way, which is even more rare not just here but back in the Boston area as well. So again if you like smoked and fermented things in an unpretentious atmosphere with very friendly staff I'm pretty sure you'll love this place too

The people at the bar were making fun of others as they came in, making us very uncomfortable. The beer menu was very small. We understand that can happen with a small brewery. We tried one beer and the cider. Both were very light and almost had no distinguishable flavor. My husband's burger was delicious. My nachos, which were cold, had very little topping and arrived well after his burger. The restroom was not very clean and had no toilet paper. We won't go back.

We are SO glad to have visited this little nano brewery!!! This place is in the middle of nowhere,…read moreset back on a long dirt road, downstairs in a wooden barn. Maybe only 200 sq ft (if that) space inside; 1 tall table with 4 high stools, 2 leather chairs, rest of the space are standing room only. A tight fit, but so cool inside! Needless to say, beer only - they don't have the license to serve beer in pints, but you can get the 4 oz samples and growlers to go. The place was PACKED when we were here; but everyone was very friendly and shared the small space together. They had 8 beers on tap; we had to try all 8! Everything was really solid; my fav was the stout and hubby liked the IPA. We didn't get to talk to the brew master as it was so crowded, but really enjoyed the experience and would recommend this place to anyone who is passing through or vacationing nearby. Just a side note - the bathroom situation is very interesting... the toilet is a cross between portal potty and compose. A bit high up and there's actually a step stool for the ladies to step up to "sit" on the seat. Bathroom is not dirty and doesn't smell...but it is definitely a hole for the waste to go in; no flushable water. By the toilet, under the bucket sink (with bud light tap as the water faucet control!) there' a bucket of dirt. Sign says to put a scoop in after you poop (ha!). Not an ideal situation for female, but still better than portal potty.

Wow! Great experience!…read more Appetizers are awesome, we had the pretzel and bao. There were so many apps we were interested in, we think we may make a meal out of several next time to try them all. I had a brisket grilled cheese with fig. It was really very tasty. My boyfriend had the fried chicken sandwich. It was good, though he felt it was missing something. He would get something else next time (the menu had a lot we were interested in). The fries are awesome - we had the truffle and curry fries. Wait service was excellent. We like that they had parking behind the building. Prices are about $18 up pp on average which is maybe a little high but we discussed that we would rather pay a few bucks more for the quality.

Little did we know that there was a 25% off the entire bill on Thursdays if you pay for cash! We sat in the lounge watching people and some of the World Cup game. We opened up with adult beverages and made our meal order. I decided on a Maine Lunch to wash down my Blackened Shrimp Cobb Salad while my wife ordered a Pinot Grigio for her Hancock pizza and garlic Parmesan fries. Our food came out relatively fast and was absolutely amazingly. Good! The Cobb salad was huge and delicious! So many wonderful taste treats! My wife's pizza was perfect! And we truly enjoyed the garlic Parmesan fries! Our waitress was pretty good, we only looked for her a couple of times during our visit, but we did leave her an excess for a tip seeing we had 25% off the bill! If we're back in the area, we will certainly stop in. The restaurant itself was well kept with a lovely decor, and most importantly the bathrooms were clean!
