After the car sat for months while I save for an engine rebuild, the first thing the rebuilder found was that the wiring for the Sniper that Muffler Shitty installed was not tightened down in the PDM. A wire even fell out when it was opened. No wonder it was cutting in and out! When I picked up the car the first time the coil was just hanging in space, not bolted down to anything. They corrected the coil issue, but I should have looked further immediately, unfortunately, the car had to sit while I saved some money. Still, haven't seen my take off parts. I was told when I picked the car up that they couldn't find them. Scott tells me to come get them, but based on his cussing and screaming at me, ill pass. I asked him to mail them, since they've been found. Unfortunately, my line of business means I must avoid confrontations and Scott is a poster child for anger management, so i wont be stopping by. I should also add, they left out the mechanical fuel pump eccentric when they put in the electric pump, causing the cam to walk and wipe itself twice. The cam was bad to begin with, but paying them to fix it has caused me to to have to get it reinstalled and pay for a new cam and labor. They warrantied the first cam, but couldn't figure out the issue. After my engine builder told me what the issue was, I was able to confirm it with a quick Google search. Scott claims the fuel pump eccentric is "optional". I send him many links to the contrary. He also claims, without knowing the man's name, that my engine builder is some "old Hot Rod guy". The gentleman has had his vehicles in Hot Rod Magazine, Performance Pontiac (when they were still around.) etc. Scott has had his cars featured where again? Yet, he immediately disparages a person whose name he doesn't know, as if that person must be incompetent. Scott tells me that because I got screwed in purchasing my "shit" car, that I am trying to pass the problem on to him. I simply asked him to refund his labor rate on the sniper install and cam install, both of which were demonstrably wrong. I didn't even ask him for part replacement costs. Not tightening wires to me shows they just dont care. Muffler Shitty is a complete clown show. From what I see in the reviews, they don't even do exhaust right, let alone anything else. Thank God, I saved enough to take the car in to a top notch engine builder. I will also add that if your car stays more than a couple days it will be absolutely FILTHY. The walls don't go to the ceiling and the place next door does drywall or something and it comes over the wall absolutely covering anything left inside. Last but not least, Scott tells me that "defamation is a serious thing". I guess, that's a legal threat? Wrong person, buddy. Do what you need to do. Everything I stated above is either fact or my personal opinion of Muffler Shitty. read more

We first took our Nissan Quest for exhaust repair. After that was completed 24 hours later it had a radiator leaking. Paid for the new radiator to be installed by muffler city. Took a Ford Edge in for jerking on acceleration and left wheel noise. Was told it needed a mass airflow sensor and motor mounts. Left with just the mass airflow sensor repair because they quoted too high for aftermarket motor mounts. Drove home and the car jerking on acceleration was worse all the way home. Took it in 2 days following for a second opinion and was told an airflow sensor was installed but not the mass air flow housing. And the mechanic failed to bolt and clip down the airflow system after he installed the sensor. It's like he shut the hood and didn't even check his work. The front tire sound was a bad wheel bearing not the motor mounts. Muffler city installed a sensor but failed to drive the car or even bolt down the air flow system after they installed it. Had they driven it, after the install, the jerking on acceleration was unmistakable. The entire airflow system was flopping around. I did call and was told to bring it back in for them to look at, I decided after having it 2 days and it's worse than when I dropped it off I needed a second opinion. Finding out I had a bad wheel bearing was scary they missed it. I would not bring any vehicle back. Did they do the same sketchy job to the Nissan and cause the radiator puncture? I must wonder. Here I am with an imminent bad wheel bearing and they can't even bolt down an airflow system. Sad to know you pay lots of money to be left unsafe and with under quality shoddy repairs. read more

They got me in on short notice, and the exhaust work sounds amazing. I haven't taken a good look yet, but I don't hear any leaks. Being overly sensitive to sound I needed my truck much quieter and they delivered. This review would have been 5 stars were it not for the lack of clarity about the final price. I was quoted $499, and I said 'Plus tax? About $535? That was confirmed and then later I find it was actually $552 or so, shop fees and whatever. I like 'tell me what it is up front' and I'll negotiate, pay it, or go somewhere else. People just don't like being blindsided. Anyone reading this, ask for the OUT-THE-DOOR price. I'd recommend them, just better clarity on cost would be an improvement. Maybe 5 stars next time. I'll need some more exhaust work on something eventually and it looks like they have some well seasoned talent there. read more

Don't go here if you're a female. Our daughter went in there needing two nuts put back on her heat shield and was charge $100. They charged $10 for the parts and $90 for 15 minutes of work. Any self respecting repair shop would never charge that exorbitant fee for a simple fix that could have been done in the parking lot. This is a disgusting abuse of power over a young woman. We live 11 hours away from her or we would have taken care of it. She just moved to Jacksonville so it's not like she had knowledge of what a shady company this place is. Needed to look at my exhaust since it was making a loud sound while driving. It was my manifold and they said it broke because my engine mounts weren't on right. Got both of them fixed and didn't realize that I could of gotten it fixed for cheaper. But two weeks later the noise started up again this time with a clinging noise. They didn't put my stuff back together correctly. A screw wasn't on tight enough and another screw was missing. Funny, I just a read a review mentioning Rainbow Muffler, and I had a situation some years ago where the exhaust they had JUST installed, fell off my truck on the road due to terrible welding. As bad as that job was, and although I had just paid them a decent amount of money for the work, I wasn't about to let them touch my truck again. I had heard good things about Ron and Muffler City from friends, stopped in to talk to him and ended up paying them to redo my brand new exhaust. Most expensive exhaust I've ever had (due to paying twice), but Ron took great care of me with his "makeover" on that exhaust. It was like night and day the difference in quality of work between Rainbow Muffler and Muffler City. Rainbow was cheaper, but ended up costing me A LOT of money due to their shoddy work. If you're reading this, save yourself the headache and just go see Ron. You won't be disappointed. You can tell he takes great pride in his work. Since that one incident with Rainbow Muffler, I've gone straight to Muffler City with every vehicle I've owned that needed work done to the exhaust...even had them do the brakes for one of my vehicles once. If I'm able to post pictures, I'll post some pics of his most recent work done for me which was no easy task...a lowered Foxbody Mustang with 17x10.5 wheels in the back (tucked) and pretty much NO clearance for the exhaust to run out to the back of the car. Ron worked his magic on it almost effortlessly and it's absolutely perfect...like a work of art! If I was to move away and need exhaust work done on another vehicle, I would seriously travel back to Jax just to have him do it. NOBODY does exhaust work on my vehicles but Muffler City, and I don't get any discounts or anything like that, I just KNOW the job will be done right EVERY SINGLE TIME with these guys. read more

I totally understand that, but I was on a tight budget and then they tried to sell me their mufflers which really pissed me off. Rip off. They told me there was a problem with the evaporation chamber, ordered one for my car and installed it for too high of a price. Then tell me to call them if it comes on again, little sketchy but whatever. It comes on again literally within a few hours. I call them the next day and they're like "oh we need to get you in asap" making it sound like they're trying to worry me. (After I already spent $500 and they told me it was fixed) mind you my car was worse after the fixed it; after I got gas the car stalled out about 3 times. So at this point I take it to a new shop. The new shop did a smoke test and found out it's the charcoal chamber in the evap system, and that's what's been causing me these problems the whole time and told me muffler city probably fixed something that didn't even need to be replaced. 2011 Buick Regal First Visit: I took in my Buick Regal to fix a broken weld. All they had to do was put the downpipe on the flange and re-weld it...that's it. Well the mechanic took it upon himself (without telling me) to re-cut, and re-shape my downpipe to "make it fit". The downpipe I purchased for my car cost me $499.00 from an extremely reputable company. I had ZERO fitment or install issues, no rubbing no nothing prior to bringing it to Muffler City. After the mechanic decided to cut it up and re-shape it (without telling me) it started rubbing on the frame of the car. I bring in the car the second time: since they can't reverse what they did with the pipe what do they do? They heat it up and smash the corner of the pipe that was rubbing. Smash a part of my exhaust to make it fit?? What sense does that make to restrict the exhaust????? I leave the shop for the second time and once again it's rubbing. 3rd visit: I bring the car in the morning and I am assured that it will be taken care of by the end of the day. I get a call in the afternoon and I am told that they did not have enough time to get to my car....however when I got to the shop to pick my car up there was a different car up on the lift than was before when I dropped my car off....and my car was next on the list...so they obviously did not feel like working on my car. 4th visit: I talk to the owner a day in advance to bring the car in and I do so first thing the next morning, they claim they can do it no problem. I get a call around 1pm telling me that there is nothing they can do for me besides completely cut up that downpipe and build me another one for $150. Granted I've already spent close to $150 there already. So all in all they want me to completely destroy my $499 downpipe, and pay them close to $300 dollars total to fix a problem that they created in the first place. The owner's response to me was "get the company to send you another downpipe and we will make it fit, other than that there is nothing else we can do for you" I feel insulted that he is trying to convince me that this isn't their fault. After I left their mechanic left me a voicemail saying that this is not the first time the owner does this. Consumer beware! Admitted by his own mechanic that if they mess something up they WILL NOT fix it. Since the owner will not fix his mechanics mistake I am forced to write this review in hopes that people do their research before spending their time and money here. I am reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau because I refuse to let this one go. So if you are wondering on the validity of my claim, go check out the Better Business Bureau webpage and see if this business owner will even bother to fix this situation. read more

Well wasn't all that great. Walked in stood there while Ron looked at pictures on his phone. I had scheduled an appointment to have my mufflers deleted. Gave them my keys and stood around for about 10 minutes getting checked in. The front office was really disorganized. The guy that did the work did a decent job. I was annoyed tho that once the car was in the air and one muffler cut off he told me it was going to be more than what he quoted me since it was bigger pipe. I took my car in for idling problems at 8am that morning. It took them one day and a half to change one gasket. $356.00 later, my car still had the same problem. They said they changed a whole kit, however in the receipt it says they only changed one gasket. I called to clarify, and they never offered to fix it, which means, it probably never happened. It only takes a few minutes to change that gasket. A lot of lies were told to me. I feel they stalled me to charge me even more. The bill kept going up, but the problem was not fixed. I would not go back there! This is the six car repair place that I go to here in jacksonville fl, and I would not go back to any of them. I recently went to Muffler City to have a brake job. They were courteous and responsive to my questions/concerns with my brakes as they (brakes) were almost nonexistent and in poor working condition. I had them checked a few wks before at a different business and was assured there was enough metal on the rotors to resurface and they did not need to be replaced. Their price was the same as the price I paid at Muffler City with new rotors {which by the way were needed.} Scott called to let me know and explained what needed to be done. Very thankful I took it to them for the brakes because not only did they do a great job, Scott was honest and said he would never put new pads on rotors in the condition my old ones were in. Had I listened to the first business, they would have doubled their money, because I would have had to go back and have new rotors installed. Thank you Scott and your crew. I was quoted 60$ to have a tip welded on my motorcycle exhaust. When I came to pick up my pipe, they changed the charges to 100$ without notifying me of the increase in price. The job looks mediocre as can be and was not worth 100$. I would not have agreed to have this simple job done for 100$. LADIES BEWARE! This is another auto repair shop that takes advantage of women (and probably men too). My "Free A/C check" cost $70!!! It wasn't until I returned to the shop to pick up my car that a $70 charge was mentioned. If they were honest, they would have told me ahead of time. PLUS, their estimate to repair my A/C was for over $800 (need new compressor, etc). I had it fixed somewhere else. It turned out to be a minor leak and was fixed for $67. These guys were great! My car had a loud exhaust noise, so I took it to a big box muffler shop that said my catalytic converter had to be replaced along with a large section of my pipe. Quoted me around $800.00, had to wait for parts from California, yada yada...So when I get a quote like this ,I start shopping the quote. I took it to the guys at Muffler City and they said I simply had to replace my flex pipe. The job Ron did was a fraction of the cost, and my car for a couple of months now has been quiet as a mouse.
