Nothing good to say about the service at this location. Screwed up what I wanted and lied so they could charge more money.

In the late 80's I started having work done with Rainbow muffler and over these years I have nothing but great things to say about this group of technicians. Recently I went in with a specific muffler in mind and the guys convinced me to use a different type of muffler because they were concerned i would not be happy with the sound. Going through a flooded street, I managed to loosen a plastic part of the undercarriage. Mark and Kenny got me in, put the car on a lift found the issue, snapped it back in place and off I went. I was recommended to take my vehicle to Rainbow the muffler man on Cassat.. And for them to use a hand held thing to do a diagnostic on my vehicle which gave them an improper reading for a catalytic converter... With that being said.. I purchased the part that I was told to get and yet my vehicle is still doing the same thing as when I took it to them. They charged us $260 for putting on a part that we didn't need in the beginning.. Because we found out that it's the transmission...I would not recommend anyone to go here... or less you have gotten a second opinion and know for a fact that you need them to fix it... test drive your vehicle before paying them because they will not refund you back your money. read more

When I moved to Jacksonville, I asked a friend in the Car Business whom I should use for muffler work when my catalytic converter stopped up. He told me to go to the Muffler Man on Cassat Avenue for the best work at the best price in town by honest folks. He was right. Muffler Man replaced my Cat Converter for 1/2 the quote of other shops with a high quality converter. A few months later, I needed the 16 plugs replaced in my hemi and once again Muffler Man beat the price of the other shops by nearly 50% and still used top quality plugs. The waiting room isn't much, so do be prepared to go to lunch or have a ride if you have to wait, but I highly recommend this shop to you based on my two experiences. read more

I have used this muffler shop for many years. These guys can fabricate just about anything skillfully and for a very reasonable price. They installed a system on my 86 Alfa Romeo Spider that looks a lot nicer and more durable than the pricey OEM parts. And it sounds perfect. When I bought a header-back exhaust system for my car I felt completely hopeless when I realized that due to the muffler I chose online it wouldn't fit without serious modification. After 10+ hours of attempting it on my own and after I butchered my entire exhaust system I decided I needed professional help. I have always heard great reviews about Muffler Man and I figured I would basically have to just buy an entire exhaust system. They told me they would be glad to help me and quoted me $130. That was the best damn $130 I have ever spent on this car, they touched up ALL of my welds (I'm a terrible welder) including the flanges connecting to the header, and basically did an entire custom job from the muffler back using my own pipe. When the job took longer than expected they apologized and I only paid $130 for only labor on a 3 hour job. Great customer service and some of the best mechanic work in Jacksonville. These guys ripped out the ugly stuff and replaced it with beautiful welds and properly braced system. Great group of fellas.
