The whole experience was great, she was able to do the eye exam in a blink literally. The baby was kept entertained the whole time she was taking the measurements and we were in and out in an hour or so. The staff was also super friendly and courteous. I found Dr. Milly Moo on Zocdoc while looking for an optometrist in the city. I came in on the first visit with an unopened pair of contacts and eyeglasses. I explained to her that my contacts were super comfortable and that all I needed was an updated prescription. Somehow this warranted 3 visits. Finally when it came time to get my prescription she said that she price matched 1-800-contacts and I could order them through her on the spot. I was so frustrated and just wanted my contacts so I just said whatever and agreed (my fault I know). On my first trip to pick them up at her office (a 40 minute round trip) I realized this was super inconvenient, 1-800-contacts would have been the same price AND I would save myself the trip. I called and asked if her office could simply ship them to me and they told me it would cost me 10 dollars (I know WTF). Remember how I said I brought an unopened pair of contacts? This was so she could simply reuse the same measurements that had been comfortable for years. When I looked over the package on the new lenses the measurements were all slightly different. I figured it was fine, it was only off by a few digits. WRONG again! Even when I rub my eyes ever so gently they would fall out. Finally when I received the first box, I was told she labelled the right and left. About 2 weeks after wearing them I noticed my vision was terrible in one eye and I kept getting headaches. Could she have labelled the right and left wrong? YOU BET SHE DID. She labelled 2 boxes of left as left and right. So not only did she cause 2 weeks of discomfort but she also caused me to be 2 weeks short. I think this is my first Yelp review. I normally don't feel a need but Miss. I was visiting from out of town due to my mother's declining health and my contact lens displaced up into the corner of my eye. Despite my best effort's, I could not find it and remove it. I called Dr. Mui and she came in on her day off and fit me in. She was extraordinarily kind, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. She found the fragments of the contact lens and removed them. I've never been to an Optometrist before and quiet frankly I was afraid to go to the wrong doctor... but I'm glad to find Dr. Mui's office! I came in for an evaluation on my right eye for minor optic neuritis. She prescribed me an eye drop and it has gotten better ever since! I have another follow up with her soon so I'm hoping it'll recover 100% by then. Dr. Mui is very attentive, funny and super easy to have a conversation with. She cares about her patients and wants to make sure you're 100% satisfied with your visit before you leave her office. She also double checked everything including my vision to make sure if the degree on my glasses were the proper measurements (since I got a regular check up at those eye glasses store in Chinatown). If you ever have any questions/concerns or if your eye has gotten worst from your last visit she'll want you to come back right away to see her! Being that I am getting older and old -___- I've noticed that my vision has been not so great lately.. I decided to ZOCDOC and I found Dr. Milly Mui and I was scrolling through her reviews and my god they were all positive reviews. Impressed. I probably haven't been to an optometrist in a couple of years. So with that being said I decided to booked an appointment with her via ZOCDOC. Mind you, I have reschedule numerous of times to a point where I thought I would be banned from booking appointments, It just my schedule is super uber heavy. I don't think I ever learned so much information about eyes and vision in one visit. It wasn't one of those visits where you go in and its a 1,2,3 process your in there and your out. Dr. Milly Mui is extremely informative in regards of health concerning eyes and personal experience she shares with you. She is very, very sweet and she jokes! Dr. Mui is hands down the most professional, kind, good-hearted doctor I have encountered in New York City. When I moved to NYC I just wanted to find a doctor who cared about my health and not about my wallet. I've been to several, and I mean many many doctors in NYC and I am proud to say I have finally found a doctor I trust and am comfortable going to in NYC. Dr. Mui not only took the time to answer any of the questions I had about my eyes, but also taught me about how I can take care of my eyes for the future. Often it seems as if I'm being rushed through the appointments and that they are solely checking off boxes. Not at Dr. Mui's office! Doctor Mui is excellent but the wait is ridiculous. If you have a full time job or have a busy schedule, you will probably run very late. But if you don't mind the wait (at least 30 min) then Doctor Mui is one of the best eye doctors. I waited for a hour for my last appointment ( it still wasn't my turn when I left), and no one told me how long the wait was in advance. Again Doc Mui is great but I am not coming back. read more

The doctor is very sweet, but I would honestly never go back for a number of reasons. First, the amount of time we had to wait (almost 45 minutes past the time we booked for our appointment!) is insulting. The amount of time it took to actually get my glasses was also far longer than other comparable places (as well as slightly more expensive). I also felt a great deal of pressure from everyone working there to engage in extra services, buy additional pairs of designer frames, and even got multiple calls *afterward* to book additional appointments for services I didn't need. They are definitely geared towards maximizing their insurance payday. However, the main reason I would never go back, and recommend that no one else does, either, is that I was given the hard sell on some coating for my lenses that flaked off only months later, rendering them unusable because the location of the defect completely blurred my vision. When I called to get the lens replaced (even offering to pay for *their* defective merchandise), I was told I'd have to go through a full examination and sales visit again and pay for another set of glasses. Absolutely no accommodation or other consideration was offered. Suspiciously, it seemed this was something they'd been through before and had a canned excuse and answer at the ready. No way to run a business. No way to treat patients or customers. I made a mistake going there. Don't repeat mine. Go somewhere else. read more

Came in here for chronic dry eyes and a small laceration on my left eye that refuse to heal due to my dry eyes and will constantly reopen at night. Her conservative treatments allow my eyes to feel better and offer steps and alternatives that many doctors I have seen did not. Dr Mui is by far the best Optometrist I have had in my entire life ... And this is coming from someone who has been wearing corrective lenses since 7 years old and now well into their 30's. She is not only thorough in her investigations but is beyond stellar when it comes to explaining diagnoses and plan of care. She is very particular in obtaining objective measurement which I definitely appreciate since I have left many Optometry offices in the past with incorrect prescriptions and had to waste time and money getting readjusted prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses. I have also never been under the care of a clinician who has such amazing bed-side manner and I'd say I'm a pretty hard judge since I work in healthcare myself!
