Mui just renovated and it is sooo cute!! Right when I heard that it was open again I had to go. My friend and I got our usual, the Tofu Kimchi Bossam which I highly recommend. Then we tried their spicy pork feet which came with little tuna rice balls. The pork feet was so tender and had just the right kick of spice. I was a little scared about trying the tuna rice balls because I'm not a big fan of tuna, but I can honestly say it was delicious! The tuna and the seaweed are cut up to little shards and mixed evenly throughout the rice all with corn and rice and it just made it so that every bite was the perfect bite. Another thing we tried was the Snowing Cheese Potato Pancake. This is a dish I do not recommend. I love many of Mui's dishes but this did not hit the spot. It was crispy on the outside and chewy in the inside which sounds delicious, but it was pretty flavorless. The one that was definitely the fan favorite was the seafood udon. Everyone in the table enjoyed it and it was the first dish to go. It had a nice kick of spicies and bold flavor with perfectly cooked udon. I also had their Fish Cake Soup which I loved. The soup was so flavorful and I loved the variety of things that it came with. It had mixed fish tofus, shrimp, crab and udon. It was steamy hot which made it extremely satisfying. Overall, I still love Mui. It is still one of my to go spots in K-Town. It is the place I recommend everyone to visit because the foods, drinks and the service is great. read more

I'm writing this review because I read other reviews that said the folks here were not welcoming to non-Koreans. This was not our experience at all!! The crowd is mostly Korean (and young 20s) here but I think that's because the locals are not used to going to buildings with different restaurants on every floor. We had a great time. Food was as delicious as Korean always is, the service was super friendly and helpful, even when we were a party of six that turned into a party of eight. Cocktails were surprisingly good. Blonde honey beer: Asahi beer with a honey stick. Cute mixer for honey as well. If you put the honey in and try to mix it, it doesn't work well. The honey got stuck to the bottom of the glass, but I was able to get it out with some effort. Instead of mixing it I put the honey back on the stick and just had it there for taste. Looks cute, functionality is not there. Chicken poppers: comes with chips on top. Sauce is really good. Donkatsu: huge portion! Definitely going to order this again when I come back. Comes with small portions of salad, corn, and sausage on the plate. Good to share with another person. Overall, a great place for happy hour, good portion size, tasty food - well worth it. Came here last night for some late night snacks and it was amazing! The host/server/bartender was super friendly and nice and made our last night in NYC one of the best. We ordered: Kimchi fried rice: (4/5) Was very delicious and flavorful. The rice was just a little too wet, but other than that no complains! Honey & garlic chicken poppers: (4/5) The chicken was nice and juicy, and the sauce coating was perfect, not too sweet. Shrimp okonomyaki: (5/5) it was so good! It was like the Japanese takoyaki but a big shrimp pancake. We also got a jager bombs and the host recommended we add a shot of vodka in it as well, and boy did that blow our minds. The atmosphere inside is very trendy and modern with a young + friendly staff that makes the vibes all the more enjoyable. They have an extensive food and drink menu that puts numerous options on the table, perfect for groups big or small. Their cocktails are absolutely gorgeous and delicious, and they offer a wide variety of sojus and beers as well. I've tried countless of dishes on their menu and really cannot pick what I would recommend more. Their french fries are truly one of the best and I also love their tofu kimchi bossam. The pricing is pretty fair considering the portion sizes esp since a lot of the dishes are meant to be shared amongst the table. The kimchi in the bossam was salty and not fermented as typical cooked kimchi usually should be and tofu was so bland. I have to be honest, I didn't know this place existed until my sister told me about it and suggested it for dinner. Located above another korean restaurant, it's easy to miss while you're walking along k-town decided where to go eat. The space is not big and the tables are pretty tight. Although it's not a straight up BBQ your meat place, you will come out of there smelling like food! They are known for their tapas but because we were so hungry we decided to order their platters instead and everything was delicious. The braised pork belly was amazing! Thinly sliced and melt in your mouth good. The fried seaweed noodles with spicy rice cake and cheese was so freaking delicious. I was skeptical at first about the cheese but holy shit...try it...it's GOOD! I'm a light weight for spicy food but I didn't find it overly spicy, it was a good flavorful spicy, not burn your butt spicy. We also had the kimchee sausage stew which could easily serve 4 people. It's got noodles, different kinds of sausages, tofu and of course kimchee. Again, it was delicious. I can't wait to go back and try their other offerings on the menu. I came alone tonight after aimlessly wandering around Manhattan (a Thursday around 10PM) as someone visiting from CA for a friend who graduated from Pratt, but flew home earlier today. Played great music, ambience was great and their food and drinks were clearly well made (budaejigae was really awesome). However, I would definitely recommend coming with a group of friends and NOT as a solo traveler. To preface this: I'm still not that great at reading social cues/situations so I have no clue if it was me saying/asking something incredibly stupid at some point in time, me being an extremely friendly but clearly straight dude coming to sit at the bar alone (okay now that I type this, I can see why), staff was busy and preferred not to talk, or if unknowingly to me they had a bad day. I came with a goal of socializing with people of similar ethnic descent and perhaps even meet a new friend across our huge country. But it was quite clear they wanted nothing to do with having any sort of conversation with me, which sadly tainted my experience. After asking, one of the staff had let informed me that they get busier later into the night, so perhaps I also just came in at a bad time. Who knows? Overall, it seemed apparent though that they truly value customer service (kept my water topped off, opened the elevator for patrons leaving, actively attended to people raising their hands) and took good care of me even with some level of discomfort. Ultimately, I can only be grateful for that as someone coming alone and hope they treat other solo patrons with a similar level of respect. 4/5 for sure! read more
